You girls and your momma are such lovely people. You always seem to be so full of joy. I feel good while watching your videos. I appreciate you all. God bless you all.
It's so refreshing to hear you girls wanting to keep the "basics" alive. I wish more of your generation felt the same.....wonderful testament to your upbringing :)
I remember my Great-Grandmother making homemade lye soap. She would make some very strong, it was dark brown, she would shave little pieces of the bar into her wash water for doing the laundry. The light brown bars were for washing your hands and such. Great to see you keeping these arts alive.
wow almost 2,000 views in only half a day. This channel is definitely trending up. Everyone remember to let the ads play and click on them if possible. The channel makes money every time that happens.
You spoke of wanting to learn to sew. I was 38 when I learned to quilt. My granny and my husbands mamaw both quilted but then it was being lost in our family. I was always comforted by quilts and for me they are such a feel good thing. I am huge about keeping family tradition and homestead traditions alive so I just went to a local quilt guild and they taught me. It was a dollar a month to join. I found one that was big into hand quilting because that’s what I wanted to do. Those elderly ladies took me in as a grand daughter and taught me quilting, hand embroidery, cross stitch, as well as gave me love and fellowship. You should consider finding an older person to teach you sewing or quilting if you’re really interested. They love to pass on their skills and love when young people spend time with them. It’s a win win. Plus it would make for great videos. God bless.
What a special story. That is so precious. Those elders have so much wisdom to pass on and your right they love to do it! I did have a quilting circle that I was part of for a while around here. I need to get back into it. Such a special thing. And quilts bring us comfort too!
When I was little, my grandmother made lye soap using her homemade rendered lard and lye. Although your skin would come out smooth and soft, it did not smell very good to me but it was all we had and used it. We used it for our laundry as well, we’d use rainwater we’d catch in a barrel and rub the clothes with the soap and use a washboard. I would have been in heaven to have good smelling lye soap like this! Your beautiful complexion will attest to how good it is for your skin! I enjoyed this very much🥰
Making your own (and other people's) clothes is so much fun. In high school, I majored in Home Economics and we learned to sew a variety of things (a dress, a jacket, an apron and even a pair of fancy draperies/curtains.) I learned to sew when I was nine-years-old and I taught myself how to design and make my own patterns and clothing. I once turned a pair of super wide legged cotton slacks into a skirt and vest, for one of my neighbors. She was thrilled with her new outfit. I'm also a handcrafter (greeting cards, designer gift bags, mixed media wall art, jewelry, sewing crafts, knitting and much more) and it's so gratifying to be able to make things with your own hands. I would love to make my own soap.
This is why I love you girls so much. You combine interesting projects with good information. Good to see your talents and hobbies can bring you some income. I hope you continue and prosper in your UA-cam journey.
I purchased 4 bars of the pink soap, I absolutely love it! Your skin will feel amazing after you use it! suds well and smells great, not over powering! ya'll need to give this soap a try!
I went to etsy to find her soap. Is it listed under a different name other than the pressley girls? I know that Tipper has the blind pig an an acorn account.
Very cool. I feel similar to my quilt making. I'm trying to be self sufficient as much as I can. Your and your mom's videos really inspire so thank you.
Wonderful! Those bars are beautiful! I just priced dr squatch soaps and they’re so expensive. Your prices are really good! Also when I was younger I used to make my own soap. (I’ve got a recipe for a beauty bar that is excellent.) And funny thing… I made a batch once with using a little paprika for the natural color. When the soap was ready to be cut it looked just like raw chicken breasts haha! I remelted and colored it because I just couldn’t stop thinking about raw chicken when I used it.
That was fascinating to watch, Corie! I've recently started using bar soaps and love how it's all natural, especially since I have eczema. Thanks for sharing and God bless you and your sweet family! :)
I did see you make the pink batch over on your mother's channel. This cedarwood scent sounds really appealing. The color is pretty, but color doesn't really matter to me. Well done!
Great job Corie! Enjoyed this video! You are right about the chemicals and all the bad stuff that’s in the store bought soap and stuff we all use everyday. 👎🏻👎🏻 Robbie Lynn makes some of our soap here to using our goats milk and we love it. Thanks again for this very informative and relaxing video! GOD Bless Y’all. 🙏🏻😇👍🏻😊🙌🏻
My daughter introduced me to you and your channel, and I'm SO GLAD she did! This natural soap-making video is very informative, and exciting to watch. Since I don't have the patience to make soap, I plan to buy some from you! :)
I know you mentioned store bought soap, and other cleaning products has harish chemicals in it. I read that making your own soap is cheaper than buying cheap store bought soap. By making it you have a better chemical free soap that is a 100% better. And the fact is y'all are keeping your heritage alive which I like. The old heritage of making your on stuff is fastly slipping away. Keep on keeping on. God bless.
Boy! I buy lavender soap, and all natural from a country market, less hassle. But interesting to see how you make it. It looks good enough to eat girls.😊
I love watching you do this ❤ I would love to learn to do this! I love you Corie maybe you can make some for Christmas and use Christmas scents..God Bless You And Yours.....Camille 😘❤ 🤗💥🙏💥

Learning so much from your demo videos! You both are awesome teachers as well. Great communication and very detailed and helpful information! Fun and interesting too! Bravo Pressley Girls!
Yes, you should! I am a soaper too, and just made my first 2 batches in June and July,. after not making any for 8 years! Far too long, I so enjoy it and so therapeutic to the mind. not to mention the finished product! I made two Bastile batches, mostly olive oil, plus a little bit of coconut and castor for bubbles, and added ground oats. honey and goat milk and half in half. One batch is fragrance free. the other has a blend of essential oils, plus a little clay. Enjoy your soapmaking to come!
I love the idea of natural soap. My husband and I are planning to try this! I do have a question. Can I crush organic kitchen herbs such as paprika and thyme for colorant?
If you restock I’ll pick up some soap for sure. I’ve been curious since I saw you make it. Have you ever made some pumice soap for cleaning really dirty hands?
Very enjoyable and satisfying to watch. I can appreciate the fact that you make your soap as natural as possible. Do you sell your soap in any shops? Do you sell at markets? Thank you for showing us your process. Blessings.
That tool you used to scrape the edges of the soap is called a dough scraper. Bread makers use them all the time and they're available anywhere there's tools for cooks.
