The room is 14x24 feet and I use 2/3 of the room for audio. I listen in an 11.5 foot equilateral triangle. It's a perfect near field experience- you do not hear the room. I prefer a small to mid size room so as to minimize larger room slap echo and the multitudes of room treatments large rooms demand. Plus, most music lovers and audiophiles across the world do not have 20x30x10 foot spaces, like our reviewer Mike Malinowski does. What effects room acoustics is the size and shape of the room. Larger spaces are far more difficult to tame, vaulted ceilings look cool but cause upper slap echo that is near impossible to eliminate unless you have a floating ceiling structure that you can raise and lower. You can spend more on room treatments in large rooms than on equipment to get good sound!
