We're just about into 2024 and vintage Detroit Iron is still being found everyday. Thank you kindly for the tour Mr. GP.
I have never seen so much rust on Texas cars. If there was a vinyl top the metal there is gone. I think your comment about the gulf coast moisture must be spot on.
Thanks for taking me along on your adventure! I go where you go!
Places like that are the ultimate vacation resorts
I enjoy your tours. I’m too old now to do any wrenching myself, but I still love to watch.
Mr. Goodpliers, you have a strange but wonderful gift. 45 seconds in and I already see the Renault Dauphine! It's on the extreme right edge of the screen when you and Joe are looking at the Frazer. I think this is the fourth one of these cars I've seen in you videos over the years! Still, "Spot The Dauphine" would be a pretty safe drinking game to play. Now "Spot The Falcon"? What a hangover THAT would be! ☺
Good eye! I had a `61 Dauphine back around around `74.
@@curbmassame too 😊
I love all of the wagons Mr. Goodpliers no matter what condition they are in 👍
Sucks most of them are going to be crushed. I would rather see a wagon on the road then a sedan. The body styles are so cool and you get the utility of a truck.
Awesome old iron collection, glad the serpents left you guys alone, smart not to open any hoods. Thanks for the tour.
Shouldn't joke about rattlers,,, 1st they don't always rattle,,they are masters of camouflage!!! Lmfao I accidentally stepped on 2 6ft ones once,,I'm still here because it was a freak cold day that day!! True story
I didn’t think they came out in cold weather..
Move alot slower in cold
Don’t believe y’all
@@darkrose4704me and me mate do , we’re snow shifters.
I lived in Austin Texas in the 80s and the man who worked there gave me a part for a 77 Grand Prix that I had at that time. There were many very good cars. It is sad to see how it is today 🙏
Man I love those old wagons. Wish I had a place like that near me
Hey Tim! Enjoyed this one, for sure! Those little Datsun 200SXs are cool, haha... Lots of Classic Tires too! Cheers buddy...
thanks guys - I enjoyed the tour very much
at about the 39 minute mark, when you're panning the camera, all of a sudden, you spot the 74 Dodge...and exclaim "oooohhhhh" lol did the exact same thing watching this.....I need that hood!
LMAO : two of you Lawrence Kansas Auto Salvage Yards are advertising the same Texas Junk yard. It is so funny watching the different ways you show the same cars. Good Luck! I enjoy watching both of you. Adventures is also showing these cars.
Love them junkyards
I'm not a Ford guy but I always liked the Torinos and especially as a wagon. Just about the best looking 70's wagon. Besides a flood I think they had a fire.
Back in the 80s & 90s,we used to slice up Kcars because they had similar body lines of the 70s Bbody mopars for 1/4 panels! 😂 had to use what was available then
First few seconds in the video, I saw that Kaiser. I want it!
A couple of those Oldsmopiles and Pimpalas, I like those too.
Ragging on the VW and Golf, lol. Actually, what you said was true and funny. Do you remember, back in the day, the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon had that same frikkin' body style? Mopar VW's (although I think they were Mitsubishi powered)! What the hell was that about?
You should get a mic for your friend...he has a lot of commentary, but we can never hear him...
Great walk around!
VW pop out rear window was factory options. Some dealer installs but headliner had to be opened to affix the latch base properly
Rambler kissing the tree is a 1963 770. Family had one for years. We still had it when I got my temp license but took my driving test in a '67 Plymouth Belvedere. This was about 1978.AL B.
One of my cousins drag raced an '85 Dodge Aries for several years. He ran in the 9:90 Super Gas bracket. It had a 440 with 2 Holley 660's on a tunnel ram intake. Air shifted 727 with a Ford 9 inch turning big slicks. It would clock at 150 on a 1/4 mile track.AL B.
I have to wonder if this “collection” belonged to Mike Kattner from Thrall. He passed away recently. He owned a city block in Thrall where there was an old gas station. I have never been to this location, but I about 15 years ago I went with him to a pasture full of similar stuff near Coupland to look for parts for a 62 Mercury Ckmet I was working on. Cars were half buried in the fence row. There was a plowed field across the fence and a hill. The erosion was burying them. He told me his dad started the business and back in the fifties someone wanted to crush cars, and split the money. The guy crushed the cars and kept all the money, ripping him off. From then on he never crushed anything.
Hope to see what you and Joe were able to Salvage
Dang you saved the 1972 clamshell for the end
I'd definitely take that Mercury Cyclone at 38:00 they just look so cool and aggressive plus you just don't see them. Would make a badass street machine.
At least it ain't snowin!
62 Ford.....406.
I just toured that yard! Overwhelming
Old cars, Parts and Snakes! OH MY 🐍
Great video, amazing place.
These types of old cars and trucks yards are scattered all across America, there everywhere and there are many, some business some private but there are many and most are big. Makes you think just how many vehicles are made each year to have so many older cars and trucks just rusting in some field today and these are just the ones you can see and there are many more older vehicles in barns, sheds, garages and out buildings to add
Very good video thank you
2:44..I'd salvage that grill and hood trim/emblems from that Kaiser if I could...it's amazing that here it is 2024, and there are Kaisers still going to the crusher...
The ‘58 Buick I saw appears to have a perfect grille. That’s a $400-$500 item to the right guy.
Contrary to popular opinion, I'd like one of those Pinto station wagons. 😊
Those were actually surprisingly popular, several of them sold
Treasure!!!!! 👍👍
Cool to see these cars still upright after 50 years plus,,,,here all you find is a roof, glass,,tires,,the rest ,salt ate,,,.....Texas is kind to vehicles,,,pat,,,land o' lakes,wi.. .
Over half of these were just as rusty as an "up north" car - they just rust from the top down
Scrap prices are going up! A few more bucks and a bunch of mine are going to scrap heaven as well.
That looked like a fun way to spend a couple days. Loved seeing many of them. Shame about the 63 chevy panel. Ive got my eye out for a "knee knocker" panel and im sure this 1 got flattened. Thanks for the vid
RX2 was quite the find. I wonder if the engine was still in it. Not much in that yard for me. I do need a back seat back/base for a 51 Ford Victoria. I always enjoy the yard videos!
Vegas and smallblocks rock!!!!!!
Great video! Looking forward to the next.
those of us that had tile telescoping steering wheels back in the day grew to hate them as they wore out first thing to go was the telescope wouldnt lock anymore and the tilt flopped around when you hit a bump laughing at him wanting one so bad much better modern options
I wouldn't put one in a car, but they're a rare option and bring big $$$ on eBay
@@mr.goodpliers6988so did this junkyard get crushed😢 I seen parts I needed?
Didn’t see you look in the 69 Grand Prix. A lot of them had tilts
I once had a 1972 Chevy Caprice coupe with a 402
A Guy should have grabbed that 1959 Chevy Tail Lense andchrome surround,
Awesome video, thanks!! It's a shame how many of these yards are going to the Crusher. Although this particular one seems to have a lot of rotted cars; just like up here in the northeast.
Thumbs up, great videos, exploring new area is always an adventure,I am overwelmed on most of these video after 2 minutes, Do you sell any of those old tools you find at these barn cleanouts? looking for a couple fair sized pullers, and big old wrenches
I also hope you get the front clips from the Chevy impala’s and caprices for the derby car guy’s don’t forget the bumper’s
Another from Kansas already took out three trailer loads of frames, clips and bumpers
Did you happen to see my comment about the 1973 Buick Electra fender’s?
I'm hoping one day you find a bunch of enclosed aircraft hangars in the dry desert filled with classics from the 30's to the 70's.
should have picked the taillight lens of the 66 Rambler Ambassador. They are really rare.
My cousin would be interested in the shorty ford van
Ira Young was a Chrysler dealer in Temple Texas. The dealership is right off I-35. I met the son of Ira. I do not know what year they sold the dealership to Mac Haik. Youngs owned that dealership about 50 years.
There must be a hundred or two cars there.. wow lots of nice hot rods.. lots of badonkidonks too cool.
So what are the non lock GM tilts worth? The grill guard on that 60-62 Chevy short box 10:50, would bring good money if it's a factory accessory
Love the Pavorick at 1:15 even has intacted S/T/T lights but missing the huge plastic rear bumper extension cover. Wonder how many times this thing hit a rotten Ronnie's drive through or pull up roller skate spot.
really any pre-68 beetle brings great money. You will sell it all. The VW crowd is as crazy as the mopar guys, maybe worse ( that says alot)
True, IF you can find a guy who is not a broke old hippie
They are out of the game long ago@@mr.goodpliers6988
A lot of 71-76 Impala/Caprice coupes
Love this channel. Do you have a page or web site with inventory of what you have to sell? I'd like to see if you have anything I may be interested in. Plus I would like to support the channel.
A YARD IN COLORADO I WENT TO HAD A SIGN AT THE ENTRANCE..... " YES, THERE ARE RATTLESNAKES HERE, WE WILL NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE OR CALL AN AMBULANCE FOR YOU. KNOWING THIS, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK".... AND I DID...
I wish when people done stuff like this. The day would put where they are. Or people could go get them if they wanted to buy these things like me.
Look on Facebook Marketplace at "closing salvage yard" in Austin Texas
I think you're overlooking the 67-74 Pontiacs for their 400, 428, 455 engines. 68, 69, 70 rebuildable cores are big bucks and getting hard to find. Some pairs of heads $1,000+.
the van with the hub caps would be fun to dig around in
Fellas don't seem to know Rattlesnakes like to sun on tree limbs.
You should be saving those Vegas every hotrodder wants one of those
There was one not rusted into oblivion. It got saved. The rest are hopelessly rusted, parted out parts cars
Man im a big wagon guy taxes are coming up and if i can find a good running wagon i would be wanting to buy it
Looking for the 71 Impala 2 door trunk lid. It is raised down the center with louvers on each side.... 😮?
I remember My Brother Had a 1970 Chevy Caprice, 402, He took the turbo 400 out and put a 4 speed, It looked factory when Done,, That was back in 1980, Boy that sure Makes me feel Old, 25 years old then, Me and my Brothers Have had some nice cars that's for sure, The Only thing you Get use to, Is going to funerals , But Out of all My cars I still own my 67 Chevelle, going on 31 Years, BBC 671 700 hp 695 ft pds, Take it out once and a while.
I don't really expect Texas vehicles to be so rusty, must be the salty gulf air .
Interesting what you're finding important , best of luck with your sales .
-Nate
Never seen someone hoarding oil pans before.
That Coupe DeDo had Tilt and telescopic
I bought that part for a guy back home who needed that specific color for his car
Alas, no Corvairs. ;-D
it's cheaper to buy a restored classic than to restore one yourself! everything is very expensive now days.
You hurt old guys like me skipping over the 2 57 chevys there.
They were already sold before we got there - they just hadn't been picked up yet
At 49:57 - Lincoln Continental '65? '6? the 4 door rear suicidal doors I wish you can go 360 with some of them I would have loved to the front
I need that 73 Oldsmobile delta 88 rear bumper
Spotted a couple of 1st Gen Monte Carlo's, I have a 70, there doesn't seem to be much interest in those. They make really good muscle cars in my opinion.
0:30 a 2nd gen ford taurus SHO
I don't agree with you about the Falcons. Mine sold for $15k. And it's probably worth more now. I would love to have another. Way more interested in one of those over a A body gm
Hope you managed to score some decent parts before they get crushed - if you can find them!!
Seems like you should look in Buicks for tilt columns more than Chevys. More the luxury model. Seems like every other Buick had a tilt column when i was growing up.
That's what makes a Chevrolet tilt rare though
It's sad that they are going to crush all of these, even though most or all of them look unsavable, it's still a very cool place. Too bad junkyards are disappearing rapidly.
Are there any cars to buy which can come back on road decently what is the location of this
2:18 74 toyota corolla 23:05 72.5-76 toyota pickup /hi lux 18:27 the 1970 Catalina is tied with 72 Torino base as ugly 45:02 1973 not as ugly , ..like to look to see if any the 4dr post or wagons might be a 4 speed, look at the rear deck to see the selling dealer name plate , 77-79 impala is 9c1 cop car ? , 28:03 ford courier 75-76 ,walking to school and see all these 60-70s cars., in the teachers parking lot 46:19 78-79 Toyota celica GT lift back my high school wish dream car 52:02 77 -78 toyota corona wagon
I recall the Torino offered 2 different grills in '72. Also 2 different grills for '73, all of which were one year only grills.
@@ernielaw true I call the 72 Gran Torino sport "the big mouth " grille
The Vw beetle never came with roof trim ever .
So many vehicles...
I am looking for power steering gear box for a 69 nova
,,hey,,,,that camaro/firebird,,you walked past(furthest corner)..what parts are left???..
Both of those cars were complete gutted junk. The Firebird was burned out and the Camaro was wrecked hard. Anything good from them was pillaged decades ago
Did you buy any whole cars ?
Nice yard. Was the whole yard being cleared ?
Yes
51:51 Chevy Laguna tail lights 😢been awhile since I drove one.. Shame to see her there 😔
Rust In Peace . ✌️🤠👍
A lot of accelerated corrosion for Texas. And most of those cars aren't THAT old.
Frequently I look at a lot of 'beyond usable' stuff as great wall hangers, too bad so much of it just winds up being crushed.
It is the salty air from the Gulf of Mexico.
I would love to be there with a pocket full of money and drag a lot of them out of there.
It has became such a stupid business buying old Junk from when I was involved. Now you people go out and pay for a Junker and then have to clear the Timber in order to get it out and the Property owner is laughing and counting his money as well as getting his land cleared. Man when does Stupidity stop. I was always paid to remove old cars. I also owned an Excavation and Commercial Tree and Logging business and it was I who was being paid and then I sold the Junk to Wichita Scrap metal and Iron and in Missouri I sold the old junk to Missouri Iron and Metal. Man how things has changed.
Oldsmopile??? Really? I'd love a 1958 Olds super 88 2dr
a few pinto`s .. i need a clutch pedal set ..
you just kinda glossed right over what looked like a blue,4spd SS.....
Last panel was a 57
