Franklin wasn't kidding when he said a turkey would stand up to a regiment. I woke up one morning to discover a giant flock of wild turkeys having breakfast in my front yard. Three were on watch and came after me when I opened my back door. I just wanted to carefully drive off to work and leave them be but they weren't having it. When they were finished, they calmly walked away and I was an hour late for work.

Also the actor playing Ben Franklin was the best choice since we cast Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier and Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Heath Ledger as Joker and Harrison Ford as Han Solo/Indiana Jones and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Michael J Fox as Marty McFly. Also Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Alan Rickman as Professor Snape and Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen.

This is my absolute favorite part of the movie. Thomas Jefferson is personally the one I relate most to, as i see myself through his personality. This film is a genuine classic, both as a film musical and a piece of Americana. If it had been released ten years earlier, it would have been nominated for Best Picture, but the national cultural and Hollywood political climate were very different by the early 1970s, as the Vietnam War was drawing to a close and overt patriotism and nationalism went into hiding for the better part of a decade.

And to quote the greatest send up of American History...
"...and here we had our mouths all set on roast eagle with all the trimmings, and you went and put our national bird in the oven.
"Well the two birds were just lying there"
"And you went and put it in the oven. Well it's looking kinda scrawny..."
"Well I stuff it with some old bread"
    "You do that."

I never noticed that during the bird debate, Franklin nudges Jefferson to tell him to acquiesce to Adam's eagle. Then Jefferson does and Franklin jumps back in with Turkey. He was just trying to get Jefferson out lol.

It’s funny no one gets what was being said regarding the national bird. When Benjamin mentioned the Turkey is a noble bird identifying Native American and then pinning the eagle to 10 centuries of British oppression and being scavenger and thief and then he himself at the end saying the nations bird will be “THE EAGLE “ signifying America is no different than the British!

My whole school had to walk a whole half mile to see 1776 at the local theater.
The Bicentennial was a big deal.
Now, I've yet to hear a word about the 250th.
BTW it's officially being called "Semiquincentennial" ie half of 500, instead of "Sestercentennial".
