it strikes me more, that he made a passage clear about saving yourself you will lose it and losing it in Christ you will save it ,
that people are made to exist with God and without God you don't even have a complete person at all

It is so true that the harder we cling to our false self, the harder things become in our life. It’s like we are trying to play a role that wasn’t cast for us. Understanding that we are not those outside influences is extremely difficult, but is absolutely necessary to finding peace and Christ. Thanks for the wonderful video from an incredible human being.
In 2002 I lived with Doug & Merrie Gresham in Ireland. Doug is C.S.’ (Jack to Doug) stepson. I got hear many wonderful & delightful stories about Doug’s years growing up with “Jack.”

i was a budhist since my child because my parents and ancestors were budhist. i was always want to know why i came to this earth.. because i live in moeslem country nobody dare to share the gospels. i have a lot of chinesse gods as well i deligently wash them but never they answer my prayer so i pray to The Almighty although i do not know who He was.. I said to all peoples all religion just the same asking us to do good.. but why on earth i kept doing lot of sin which i can't resist not to doing so i confused myself.. to do good just an empty words i think, and i was considering to go meditating in forest like a monk or something but i don't think i can. One of my friend asking me to go to church but i am to lazy to go too, but one day as i drove my car something telling me to go to church. i hesitated a bit because sunday i want to sleep.. it's morning service but i changed my mind i decided to go.. There for the first time The LORD open my heart, i never sang christian song so while the others sang and some speaking in language that kinda weird i just keep silent and read the lyric of the song suddenly tears come out from my eyes it's like this is my searching for along time this is THE CREATOR of this universe i just know it instantly.. but i hide my cry i am a man cry is a big no.. Thanks GOD the auditorium is quite dark.. after lot of battles in my mind for several months finally i decided to be baptized seven years ago, then i go home when chinesse lunar new year i refused to pray to our gods and told my parents i am now following Jesus i can't pray to gods they mocked me and saying i betrayed our ancestor religion, i am a traitor i just asked the LORD to help.. then The LORD told me to learn from HIM as HE will teach me, HE even showed me one of the big pastor in singapore doing corrupt so i thought ya men can do wrong, i'm gonna read This Christian Bible instead.. i don't really like to read books actually i prefer reading comic books, but i kept reading it everyday i really changed me now i have read it like more than 15 times from genesis to revelation.. THE LORD indeed teach me.
But there's a sin i cannot overcome although i already study bible and helping in church.. The LORD bring someone to me and 3 times we met and the only thing he said is you guys who are christian but still doing sin, watching "bad" movies will go to hell.. then in the third time we met i asked him tell me what you're secret i'll do just the same.. so he told me that in the night he clos his room kneel and cry out to THE LORD for help because he cant.. so i just do the same things and i do really works.. i became born again.. every time i asked Holy Spirit as well to help me and HE did..
JESUS really always does answering the prayer not like my previous gods.
Because no one like to share the gospel although it is really important we do really need to know this, so THE LORD uses me as well to share the gospel..
so yeah what lewis said was true because he also has experienced it as well.. i was a stingy man before even if my parents asking me money i will not give it, but HE change me somehow, i was like to play games before but now i don't, all my bad habits are gone not because i can but The LORD who did that. I am an super extrofert person before have a lot of friends but after born again i prefer to read bible and be alone during lunch time, somehow THE LORD separated me. He brings others who love him as well to me.. My dad won't come to my wedding, my grandma also told my whole family to attend my wedding, my friend left me, i even lost my job because i obeyed what the LORD told me not to be vaccinated.. But HE also blessed me abudantly..
“The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” Spirit is talking about praying and Truth is talking about HIS words..
We can't change ourself by ourself after i have read bibles so many times one things for sure it is impossible to do..
That's why we need HOLY SPIRIT to help us to do HIS will and to change us to become more like JESUS..
Indeed i have forgiven so much that's why i don't care if i lost everything, i am so thankful i can know my Creator, glory to GOD alone. HalleluYAH..

Christ pulled me into the fold through Mere Christianity. Grew up in a Christian family. A friend recommended it and I started reading it in Uni...so awesome to hear his voice.

and i feel the need to add, that once you make that kind of change (for me at least) it is something you have to uphold to the best of your ability but it gets easier and youll be perfectly fine as long as you make sure to keep coming back to him, we all have doubts or just plain dont listen sometimes yknow but i figure the most important thing is to never give up and keep reabounding and you end up doing it quicker and quicker aswell as growing your faith. a lot of words here lol but thats my experience so far. stay strong man :D

I’m reminded of Paul’s shipwreck in Acts 27-28 in which, in order to survive the contents of the ship, including the lifeboats, had to be jettisoned in order to make it close enough to shore to be saved. Like his testimony about what he knew before he knew Christ was now but filthy rags, much of what we cling to that isn’t of God, holds us down more than effects our salvation.
