The AlphaTauri's in general had an interesting race with Yuki going from P20 to P8 before spinning and then Gasly on the terrible tyre choice dropping down and then climbing back up
Hamilton and Max always seem to have enormous respect for each other Take the t1 incident for example... i don't think there was anything wrong with it, just hard but fair racing, however I bet if that happened between other drivers they would be moaning a lot about it saying he gave me no space, he pushed me wide etc etc. I think lewis just said he ran me off then get on with it and no complaints at all after. They seem to really enjoy battling with each other and they battle each other very hard. I love to see them fighting, hope we see a lot more of it this year

Everybody be talking about Russel and Bottas but can we appreciate the fact that Sainz recovered from 11th to 5th right next to Leclerc? This was a great race for Ferrari too, almost took a podium and not by luck
It didn't get a podium because they were unlucky. Had not bottas and Russel brought out the red flag , Lecler would have sat p2, p3 if Hamilton wouldn't have got that run-off

@@blaine319, watching it in slow motion, it seems that Russell had room -- look at the space between them to Russell's left, as well as the direction of Bottas' car at the time of that gap. I think Russell slightly overreacted in his adjustments, and that's all it took to put his right side into some slippery stuff. Had he not flicked it to the right as much as he did, I think he'd have gotten the position as intended. No doubt they both had a role in this, but in this case I'd say that Russell was definitely more to blame for the collision.

@@BlueSwifts, agreed, actually. To be one of the 20 in those seats, though, there are a lot of things they have to be able to see that the rest of us can only see in replays and slow motion. And, again, in my opinion, there was plenty of room between them visible in that replay. Russell overreacted (especially considering the wet), and while I understand why, I don't think someone more seasoned like (for example) Lewis or Kimi would have done the same.

For someone who doesn’t watch often, you’d think “oh boy he got lucky today.” No, this is the case EVERY time. There has to be some sort of conspiracy because mathematically his luck is impossible...

Ok it took him a minute but at least he was still in the race and when you have the fastest car you can always make up positions.
Lewis is just so lucky...Almost everytime he's outpaced or makes a mistake he gets a safety car or red flag to protect his position and improve his strategy

Then he had gearbox problems which caused him to retire.

As amazing of a driver *Hamilton* is, his *luck is unbelievable.* Edit: the *luck* part I'm referring to, is the Bottas-Russell accident allowing Hamilton to un-lap himself. I should have clarified that, as to not cause any confusion.
Luck is preparation and opportunity. He was prepared because he used his skill to get back on the track, then the opportunity presented itself. Was Max lucky to keep his car on the track after his mistake or just skilful ? I think its more skill than just pure luck

Despite the crash, its still crazy to think a fricking williams was nearly about to overtake a Mercedes 🤯 Some of you guys misunderstood, ignore the fact that they crashed. Even without the DRS, Russell was still catching Bottas. Bottas said he don’t have the pace while somehow Hamilton was fighting through the pack.
Yes, and Max Verstappen might end up in the Mercedes should Red Bull fail to deliver him a title this season. Let's just say that Mercedes won't be pleased by *either* of Russell or Bottas. Mostly Russell because he seemed to forget that the track is wet.

@@the1sH0 George clearly miscalculated the tracks width reduces after the pit exit. There was enough room but he didn't realize when he darted to the right that the track would tighten. By the time he realized the track got tighter his wheel was on the grass and bye bye. 110% George's fault! A racing incident is something that is unavoidable. Hopefully he learns from it.

@@blaine319, watching it in slow motion, it seems that Russell had room -- look at the space between them to Russell's left, as well as the direction of Bottas' car at the time of that gap. I think Russell slightly overreacted in his adjustments, and that's all it took to put his right side into some slippery stuff. Had he not flicked it to the right as much as he did, I think he'd have gotten the position as intended. No doubt they both had a role in this, but in this case I'd say that Russell was definitely more to blame for the collision.

And, again, in my opinion, there was plenty of room between them visible in that replay. Russell overreacted (especially considering the wet), and while I understand why, I don't think someone more seasoned like (for example) Lewis or Kimi would have done the same.

@@idubbel4385 had rear brake problems which the mechanics were unable to fix in time before the race so started from the pit lane, and then received a stop go penalty because of his mechanics infringing a rule to do with his problems pre-race. Then he had gearbox problems which caused him to retire.

He never gives up. And the way he pulled the car out of the gravel was smart, he drove it like a fwd car applying very little throttle
Luck is preparation and opportunity. He was prepared because he used his skill to get back on the track, then the opportunity presented itself. Was Max lucky to keep his car on the track after his mistake or just skilful ? I think its more skill than just pure luck
Remember when he didn’t pit in silver stone and verstappen did only for his tyres to blow right before the end of the race and he still finished just a couple seconds ahead of verstappen. He’s a lucky boy

Some of you guys misunderstood, ignore the fact that they crashed. Even without the DRS, Russell was still catching Bottas. Bottas said he don’t have the pace while somehow Hamilton was fighting through the pack.

@@the1sH0 George clearly miscalculated the tracks width reduces after the pit exit. There was enough room but he didn't realize when he darted to the right that the track would tighten. By the time he realized the track got tighter his wheel was on the grass and bye bye. 110% George's fault! A racing incident is something that is unavoidable. Hopefully he learns from it.

You can also see that Bottas' halo had a bit of damage from the tyre and the contact with the barrier, that could have been bad
