Big clubs aren't getting greedy....they are just cutting out the middle man clubs like Benfica, Porto, Dortmund etc. TBH I'm quiet surprised it's taken this long but it's going to catch on soon.
Why wait for Benfica to get them for 5m and sell them to you for 80m when you can go get them yourself for 15-20m (Big club tax) and develop them yourself.
This is what some Chelsea fans are failing to understand. In a few years they'll be glad we got Kendry for 15m instead of fighting Barca,Real,City to buy him from Benfica for 100m.

The only problem with playing the full back as the high and wide attacker in the 3-2-5 structure is that they have to be extremely athletic to get back to defend at LB during an opposition transition. Davies is able to do that, when he was at his best under Flick, he was doing this exact role. However, he has had lots of injuries because it is so tough on the player physically, this is what has caused Reece and Chilwell to constantly break down. Currently, Cucurella only has to drop 10/15 metres from the pivot to the LB position when it would be more like 30/40 metres if they were up on the wing, which makes our current system a better tactical structure to prevent injury and defend transition
If we sign a LB, it would be better if they could do well inverted but also aren't super expensive so we don't have to sell Gallagher and Chalobah, so Hartman could be good option (if he wasn't injured), especially if Cucurella can keep performing and allow him to settle in to the PL. Either way I would look to sell Chilwell because he isn't good enough on the ball to played inverted and he isn't athletic enough anymore to play as the wide player in attack

You expect players like santos and deivid to get on first team directly? Did u not see the condition of this young team during the start of the season? These guys are still 20plus and yet are only gaining some momentum now towards the end. I won't recommend to let these young recruits directly join first team. They should develop out on loan and come back once ready. Look at casadei. Gradually he will get his time rather earn his time.

If you can an explain anything this club does now then you're a better man than me but if i'm guessing then it seems clear it's all about turning a profit because it sure isn't about strengthening the 1st team in areas that we are weak.
None of our RW is as good as Estevao. For €30m, he is worth the gamble. If he is good enough, we will ship off the other RWs. And he will not truly blossom until like 4 years from now. If Madrid followed this logic, they wouldn't have bought Vinicius and Rodrygo who prefer to play on the left when they had just dropped £80m on Hazard.

Who ever get them will dominate the world of football for like 10 to 15yrs from now. Madrid knew this and look at their team. Barca is relying heavily on their academy cos they don't have the funds, Madrid is stocked already but will always go for any special talent, PSG are catching the thread too.
