Dr. Karl R. White Receives the 2022 Campbell Callier Prize

  • We are pleased to honor Dr. Karl R. White with the 2022 Campbell Callier Prize in Communication Disorders. The Campbell Callier Prize is a biennial award that recognizes individuals whose leadership and research contributions have promoted scientific advances and significant developments in the diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders. Dr. White is the Emma Eccles Jones Endowed Chair in Early Childhood Education and a professor in the Department of Psychology at Utah State University. He is also the founding director of the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM).
    Dr. White is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities on early identification and treatment of hearing loss. He has been invited to speak in 31 countries where he has assisted in the implementation of newborn hearing screening and intervention programs. Projects currently underway at NCHAM are focused on developing more effective hearing screening and intervention programs through research, improving public health information systems, training and technical assistance, and information dissemination. Dr. White serves on many national and international advisory groups for organizations such as the United States Department of Health & Human Services, the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
