Just to confirm, everything Lee said is true. I am 16 HC (if that helps) and was hitting down massively on the ball. But, was hitting within myself to stop that right (baby fade Lee 😂) slice. Yes we slightly changed me hitting up on the ball and then went to the higher orange tee but the change from the Ping G10 to the G425 was unbelievable. Lee took me out onto the course and I hit 4 balls from the yellows on a 300 yard hole. One rolled out to about 280 and the other 3 were left side of fairway about 260-270 (yes it’s hard and it rolls a long way). The next 4 were from the whites and I aimed to the 150 marker on the RHS of the fairway and again all were middle to left but one went slight left rough as I’d changed my alignment. We should have filmed it 😂 Hopefully this will mean more balls on the fairway and maybe lower scores 🤔 but the change in carry will certainly help in the winter Apologies as I’m rambling but the change was incredible - can’t wait for it to turn up (please Ping 🙏🏼) and get it on the course Thanks again Lee - 100% recommended
Great video. I'm a senior golfer desperately looking for a draw driver with more distance. What is shying me away form the Ping 425 or 430 is how much shorter they Aretha othe drivers. In this test it was 12 yards shorter than the Callaway.
nice explanation i have been wondering about the sft. have had problems with slice so i should look this up. just sold my driver callaway xr pro driver. i couldn't control it at all. so looking for a more forgiving driver instead and ping is the leader there.
Great comparison and explanation! Glad you finished the experiment instead of lining up differently like you wanted to. Lol. Love your videos, keep doing what you're doing.
Rather than buy a new driver , you can close the club face with hosel adjustments or pre set a closed club face in your set up position. The other option is to add about 20 gm of lead weight to the driver heel to speed up the toe closure rate. I did the latter with mt Cleveland HB Turbo driver to assist me keep away from the right push shot. Setting up with my wrists square to target, rather than to the right side helps , as does flapping the wrists through impact rather than attempting rolling of the wrists to time face closure. The advantage of developing the skill to fix the issue is that you can still fade the driver on command if needed.
Interesting video and understand the logic. Is the Mavrik max in D setting not a comparison that is more like for like? I feel that I can’t hit right with the Mavrik Max D
I had a fitting yesterday for two clubs to go between my 6 iron and driver. I ended up with a ping hybrid and 5 wood. As we had some time left I asked to hit my g20 driver on the trackman to show him my fade/ push. Then I tried the s f tech. Unbelievable. Every shot a slight draw and because of that I was swinging with confidence even holding the finish position which is rare.
Apart from where the weight is situated within each clubhead, it's good that you (eventually) recognised that the shaft is also factor. If the shafts were identical, your test would have more merit.
Heard great things about Ping drivers tried my mates felt solid but flew too high so need to try s SFT in a lower loft. Not sure on the price of a G425 right now tho
@@LWG Wow cheers Lee not thought of that will check if he had his in 12 degrees rather than 10.5. Hope to be on Tour at Ashbury in September will try to pop along and say Hello
Would've loved to go to the golf break but unfortunately wouldn't be able to find a partner, i will definitely be working on my face to path with driver and try to get rid of the awful slices
I can confirm your findings my mate has just been fitted for The Ping SFT he never missed right I have a G400 which I love but I find if I go for a big one I can push right If I 85% swing I genuinely carnt miss the fairway (I play links so straight is far more important than distance I am tempted but £499 is a family discussion 😆😆😆
I’m the complete opposite, all my shots go left , and I have a ping 410 Driver , which is a great driver but doesn’t help my hooks apparently 🤷♂️🤦♂️😂
Only problem with the Ping G425 Driver is it sounds terrible and is the worst sounding Driver ping has ever made.Shame really because it does perform but i could never get over the sound.

Enjoy your new club Adrian, sounds like your onto a winner👍
@@pdashs5810 only time will tell but the confidence it gave me was unreal. Literally can’t wait for it to arrive !
Great video Lee, going for driver fitting tomorrow excited to test the g425 and sim2 and replace the old g25

Great explanation Lee, brilliant video gives me a more understanding of fitting
Hi I did the same thing last year ,I got fitted into the ping G400 sft, gained 50yds and never sliced it left (yet) , I use the 5 & 7 wood sft as well

Good points Lee, fun to see a comparison of very different drivers. Carefull with talking in absolutes though 😀
Keep up the great content Lee as I find what you are showing is very informative 👍
Thank you
Great video I’d love to see some stats on my clubs/swing 🤔
Great fitting understanding Absolutely brilliant!

Hi Lee. , My 9 degree Sim2 I've lofted up to 9.75 , that will automatically close face more too , right ??
Yes mate 👍

If you hit a pull draw, instead of a hook which you dont want to do...Your miss should be a touch right, a bleeding fade ....thoughts?
Lee in your experience, how do you rate the Cobra Speedzone in terms of forgiveness, in particular straightening slice right shots.
I’ve not really used the SZ and not being a cobra fitter I don’t have access so I’m afraid I can’t really comment Tim.

SFT only comes in 10.5 mate and if you lower loft on the sleeve you open the face so defeats the SFT object

Another great review 👍
Lee great video. Great test
Might have to buy me an sft to test! What about the sft fairways? Do they do the same? Maybe a compare against the max fairway video
That’s coming soon mate 👍
Would've loved to go to the golf break but unfortunately wouldn't be able to find a partner, i will definitely be working on my face to path with driver and try to get rid of the awful slices
Absolutely brilliant 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
What tee-hight are you using? Orange? Pink? Hight in inches (2 3/8 2 3/4)?
Pink castle
would that guy have had the same results with the callaway b 21 driver
Hard to say as we didn’t test it because he didn’t like it. From my own testing the SFT is superior in the anti slice department to the B21
Works

£399 online mate 😉 probably £425 to £450 in fitting centres
Lee Whittaker Golf probably still just in the family discussion area 👍👍👍
😂👍
When I got the G400 max and told Mrs P the price I got” Does it hit it it’s self “ Buts there’s more that one way to skin a cat 😎😎😎😎
They don’t understand 😂
My rouge doesn’t eliminate but reducers the bad right a lot 👍
Interesting. Do you think eyeliner might help with my putting?

Take it out on the course on a hole with water all down the left, your hit 1 right then 👍⛳
no id hit an iron because the danger on the left with it being my miss, takes the driver out of play haha
If I did it would be my swing not my ping☺
Lee it's easy everyone who thinks you can't get them in to try and prove you wrong
Bloody show off....haha, good stuff Lee 👍
Doesn't go right Lee... 😜
Never ever goes right 😄

To be honest, if it goes 250 yards on the fairway and I only have to put up with that sound 12 times, I’ll take it 🤷🏻♂️👍
