@@EpicThe112 pretty much in every ace combat game you will face something like this flying carriers that launch either manned aircraft or drones and also carry various types of super weapon including shock wave icbm, laser point defense turret, vertical launch cell that contains infinite missile, anti surface laser beam, and most recently energy shield that will block projectile and missile completely.
good idea! drone air carriers may actually be possible since you don't need a person inside them and lots of weight gets saved!! imagine a drone airship that floats in the air, carrying hundreds of scout and weaponized drones.. honestly they made airships back then, with primitive tech.. imagine what they could make them do today!
I dunno if the real life counterpart would have a plasma shield or laser cannons, but I'll settle for one wing-mounted infinite-ammo-having air-to-air missile launcher. Or just a guy leaning out the window with a Stinger.
Oh I haven't forgotten about it, but it was more in line with the main subject of this vid. but it launched manned aircraft, I was referring to the what he said about the air force testing a system similar to that of the Arsenal Bird. which are air fighter drones.
This is basically the concept of Project Pluto, the single most terrifying weapon devised be mortal minds (that includes Zyclon-B and Agent Orange). It would have been a supersonic, RATO-launch, nuclear scramjet powered multi-payload ICBM. - It would launch from ground via RATO boosters, or air launch via a specially-modified B-52, travel at Mach-2+ until it reached its drop zone, within which it would launch its multiple megaton-yield submunitions (twelve, I believe). Once it expended its payload, it would deactivate overheat/overspeed safeties and travel on-the-deck at Mach-3.5+ over populated areas while leaking radiation, it’s supersonic wake destroying buildings and ripping up roads. After it could no longer function above acceptable levels, it would ditch reactor shielding and crash into the target nation/force’s capital (at the time, The Kremlin), making the area uninhabitable for years. - The thing about nuclear powered aircraft is, barring systems failure, they have virtually unlimited range and flight-time. Once launched, this missile, called the Supersonic Low-Altitude Missile, or S.L.A.M. (best name for an apocalypse machine ever, by the way) could strike anywhere, at any time, and considering it would be below radar detection altitude for at least 70% of its operational lifespan, you would never see it coming.
This idea is right up there with the supersonic bomber. Even on Navy carriers the elevators and launch systems experience failures all of the time. Imagine the tiny fighter pilot asking to be brought aboard only to be told that the recovery system is down and he is low on fuel. Or a damaged tiny fighter trying to be recovered that will not fit the profile of the system. Drones are a much saner way to accomplish this mission and can be designed to fit the carrier aircraft without the concerns of a human pilot.

Hi Mustard, I recommend looking into the Boeing 747 Cruise Missile Carrier Aircraft (CMCA). It's an unrealized concept where a Boeing 747-200F's main deck is fitted with revolver-style ammunition cylinders that move along built-in cargo-handling rails. The cylinders take turns positioning themselves near the side cargo door to launch their payloads. Refer to US Patents 4208949 and 4475436. Lockheed had its own thing going with US Patent 4040334. While this may not be worth an entire video, I think you and your team might be interested in looking into the subject matter.
Anyone that has played an Ace combat game can see how difficult an airborne carrier will be to make. Also, the c130 with drones its getting close to the arsenal bird in ace combat..
Not gonna lie, that's a pretty freakin awesome concept. And the design of the fighters themselves is cool! The force multiplier factor of a single plane all of a sudden launching multiple fighters or drones is pretty cool.

And this is what happens when a governments' military budget is ridiculous impoverishing of the American people, they use video game physics as inspiration to impoverish us more.
+jmitterii pretty sure the military budget doesn't magically increase when a new project is started. They can just use the billions they have sitting around.
@@jmitterii2 You do realize that the money the military uses directly benefits the American people? Say the military builds a new warship well that requires a lot of resources so the people who mine all the metals and other materials get paid, the people who refine the raw materials get paid, the people who make machined parts out of the refined ingots get paid and then finally the people who assemble everything get paid. This isn't even including things like truck drivers, train operators and various other occupations that were involved in shipment or related to one of the many other steps I didn't include on my list, point is when the military builds something quite a large portion of the people benefit from it and best of all its the people who deserve it the most as they are actually willing to work hard.
The chance of seeing it in the future also goes down once you realize how inefficient something with giant vertical rotor blades is, at such a damn high altitude.
@M 40 The Japanese designed and actually built a couple sub-carriers during World War II, two of the ones actually built I believe were named I-13 and I-14. The ideas was interesting, but they could only carry two special fighters each carrying very limited weapons and payload, and even if successfully launched from the Sub landing back on it would not be possible, unless you strape some floatation device below the wings for them to land on water but that would significantly hinder their combat capability. Historically, I think the two subs were only ever used to transport aircrafts, one of which was sunk by an American Carrier.
@@squirrelmaster5375 Mutas is pretty poor at fighting Carriers, try Corruptors/Viper or Infestors in SC2 and Scourges or/and Plague from Defilers in SC1.
The only thing that stops something like Arsenal Bird from being a reality is flight endurance. In Ace Combat the lighthouse transmits microwave power to the AASs, the US would have to refuel them constantly via tankers. Oh, and the shield lol. But to be honest the Aerial carrier solves a lot of strategic and diplomatic problems. You no longer need Airbases, they're much harder to track down and attack and they can effectively hold territory almost as long as ground forces. As long as the first 2 we build are called Liberty and Justice, I'll he happy.
@@andrewzheng4038 It would take exceptional advances in solar power for it to work. Honestly, having a duo system would probably work best; aerial carrier to deploy fighters, and tankers for refueling the aerial carrier, which can then in turn refuel the fighters.
They would be insanely difficult to defend and can't be easily armored, we need the new defense missiles and lasers we are working on now to mature a lot before even thinking about it. An aircraft carrier solves all the problems you mention, and is a very tough asset to deal with from a defensive standpoint. If they can design to right type of drone we could use the B-2 and B-21 like this in the future.
If that thing in the real world, maybe you must prepare the special weapon like Railgun and Laser Weapon System (LaWS)... Plus, you just added S-300, S-400, S-500, Patriot and other air defenses that you can place to match "the parasite planes" that can be deployed from that thing necessary.
Im just realizing that the tankers are also cargo aircraft, so the plan is probably to have a 6th gen fighter follow along getting refueled along the way and when the tanker gets in range of the target, it becomes arsenal bird, dropping off its drones so the piloted jet can direct them as needed while the tanker stays safe, then back to base and because they are drones you don't need to collect them, although it might be better to do so, or if the fighter can do another mission, another tanker could meet up with it and a new set of drones to use, this all depends on if the fighter needs rearmed but they may be able to just direct the drones to do the mission in some situations
First flight occurred on February 9, 1969, followed by an extensive test program. The first 747 engine, the Pratt & Whitney JT9D, was an equally challenging engineering effort; it experienced numerous problems in initial service. The 747 quickly became a mainstay of the world's international airlines.
The 50s and 60s were crazy time in America. The military essentially had an unlimited budget and companies were scrambling to make crap that never worked or worked a third of the time.
Yautah you’re right but I think it has gone down considerably in modern times than back in the 50s. The government was absolute authority and people were very much for military. But yes even today people are selling the military junk products that doesn’t do a whole lot but costs a lot. I recall a submarine had this scope controller that costs 35k per controller. Claimed it was a special controller but then someone figured out you could hook up a Xbox controller and gain the same controls as the expensive product.
I wouldn’t say Kelly Johnson came from Germany. We also built some incredible machines during that time frame. Like to B-52, SR-71, F4 phantom, A-6 intruder. Sure we and The Soviets got a kickstart from the German scientist, however we expanded upon that and took it way further. And R&D is expensive and time-consuming and not every project is a success.
I find the sister project of this far more interesting, and viable. In the 80s, there was a proposed 747 cruise missile variant that could hold over 100 tomahawks! So it was an aircraft with more striking power than an Arleigh Burke class destroyer!
I can only imagine, a 747SP fighter bomber. due to the SP being a "stubby" 747, they have a lot of weight savings allowing for increased range and payload, not to mention less weight would also make the plane handle pretty well for it's size. unfortunately the SP was out of production since '84 (to the sole exception of a VIP order by Saudi Arabia in '88, which was a hybrid of the SP and a -400)
The thing is, one ground to air missile can take out 100 missiles and a Jet in one blow...... we need something armoured flying which could take 2 G2A missile atleast

@@aniruddhrao3489 exactly. Multiple nukes at once
This is basically the concept of Project Pluto, the single most terrifying weapon devised be mortal minds (that includes Zyclon-B and Agent Orange).
It would have been a supersonic, RATO-launch, nuclear scramjet powered multi-payload ICBM.
-
It would launch from ground via RATO boosters, or air launch via a specially-modified B-52, travel at Mach-2+ until it reached its drop zone, within which it would launch its multiple megaton-yield submunitions (twelve, I believe).
-
The thing about nuclear powered aircraft is, barring systems failure, they have virtually unlimited range and flight-time.
@@RavenWolffe77 That is the scariest shit I have ever heard

While this may not be worth an entire video, I think you and your team might be interested in looking into the subject matter.

pretty sure the military budget doesn't magically increase when a new project is started.

@M 40 we did have submersible carriers.
It's Japanese, but I forgot the name.
@M 40 You can bring a flying carrier literally anywhere, but sub carriers can only go where regular ones can
@M 40 The Japanese designed and actually built a couple sub-carriers during World War II, two of the ones actually built I believe were named I-13 and I-14.

Hobo Misanthropus would solar-powered props work?
@@andrewzheng4038 It would take exceptional advances in solar power for it to work. Honestly, having a duo system would probably work best; aerial carrier to deploy fighters, and tankers for refueling the aerial carrier, which can then in turn refuel the fighters.
is this Marvel???!!!

Having seen "the Pentagon wars" , I'd say the 70s and 80s weren't so different. Having seen the f35 program.. I'd say its still the same.
@Ja Ma To be specific, we got it from them, and them defeated them with it.
That's some countries all the time. It's just that these stuff are older and are allowed to be declassified.
I find the sister project of this far more interesting, and viable.
In the 80s, there was a proposed 747 cruise missile variant that could hold over 100 tomahawks!
So it was an aircraft with more striking power than an Arleigh Burke class destroyer!
I can only imagine, a 747SP fighter bomber. due to the SP being a "stubby" 747, they have a lot of weight savings allowing for increased range and payload, not to mention less weight would also make the plane handle pretty well for it's size. unfortunately the SP was out of production since '84 (to the sole exception of a VIP order by Saudi Arabia in '88, which was a hybrid of the SP and a -400)
Now that sounds like a much more promising project.
The Bomb Bus
The thing is, one ground to air missile can take out 100 missiles and a Jet in one blow...... we need something armoured flying which could take 2 G2A missile atleast
The biggest problem with the plan is it would've made every single 747 civilian or not into a potential target which wouldn't have been good
