just did the calculations for a 747 at max takeofweight and 190 mph. when not using thrustreversers every wheel generates enough heat to heat 1000 liters of water by 48 degrees celcius or 118 dergees fahrenheit and it has 16 wheels

Actually, the wheel brakes are the primary means of slowing down airplanes. While the spoilers do generate some drag, their primary purpose is to remove lift from the wings so that the wheels can get a good grip. Reverse thrust, meanwhile, is not reliable enough to be included in landing distance calculations; the plane must be capable of stopping using wheel brakes and spoilers alone, or it can't land on that runway, and any additional braking from the reversers is just a bonus.
