Good evening , from Italy, in italy is called "alfa 75" , is fantastic Car , The sound metallic and strong engine, is Wonderful, Now is in production new Alfa romeo "Giulia" .👋
I love the Guila but we cannot get a 6-speed manual gearbox in the United States. I've loved the 75/Milano since I was in high school and would love to find a Milano quadrifoglio.
I bought mine from original owner, but it needed some TLC. Found a great Milano buff, who rebuilt everything on the bottom of the car except engine and tans which were fine. So now, with its new chassis it’s a blast. I’ve had many Italian cars, largely ‘50s-60s, and it’s fun to have current conveniences and 3 liter w power. Trim items are all a bit funky and not the best, but the chassis is just lovely. The video is tops, nailed it just right. Fun car, and for the money, wonderful sounds. Classic you can drive in off-weather, as it has good heat and AC, brakes and handles fine.
Really enjoy your video, thanks! I'm the owner of two Alfa75s, ts and 2.5 v6. You are absolutely right, 75 is one of the most exciting car for a real driver.
Great video about a great car. I own here a 75 3.0 QV, which is more or less the european version of the milano verde (OK, has other engine management) and a 2.0 TwinSpark. Your are right. These are absolute beautiful drivers cars.
hmm, I own an "over-hyped e30" but I still want this one. Not because I think its better than the e30, but because it accomplishes basically the same thing, but using different ideas and mechanics... its the engineering of both that I enjoy!
DanTheBavarian More body roll by far than E30 m3, but money aside I would have kept my Verde if I had the foresight, not the m3 (only mods were ANSA exhaust, rear shocks/springs, ES30 torsion bars and spherical bushings, s-cams and good rubber). Best sounding engine ever in a road car until the LFA. And when driven well on b-roads, deceptively fast all around, even if not in straight line. Having beaten 928s and 924 turbos plus gen 3 rx-7s on roads where one needed to do more than just accelerate. Though, I used to beat my friends WRX in '02 with my 87 Civic Si, with Tokico Illuminas and good rubber on a little public road course we took to work too, so ymmv.
I would really like to find a 75 Evoluzione to import to US though now that they are old enough, or find an IMSA Milano to track if one could be bought for less than insane money. Might also be nice to see what an alfasud or 155 q4 would cost these days.
I had one just like it! Bought new from Paul Spruill Alfa in Atlanta. Flew down from NC and picked it up and drove it back with my cousin. Almost ran out of gas because we couldn’t figurnout how to open the gas cap!!!
I had a 1987 alfa milano 2.5liter car bought used in 1992 . great car just very expensive to maintain at the time and those idiot lights always on lol. I took it to 130mph max at redline in 5th gear. great car in the snow as well as it was very balanced car. miss it to this day
What a great video, there's not many out there on the Alfa 75. Got a 3.0V6 1990 last year, a lot to fix but I'll get there. Agree with everything you say here! Great all round car
The sound from the V6s is amazing! But the twinspark is a better version. The brakes on a v6 are slightly underpowered for the weight and power of the car. The suspension is also the same as on the twinspark, which because of its lighter engine handles a lot better.
Great perspective! Being in the US I never had the opportunity to drive the TS but I would love to... suspension isn't quite the same. Torsion bar diameters in the front are different I believe.
Yes, you are right, I have both v6 and ts 75s, the ts model overall is much neutral, balance and feel more excited in the corners. Comparing to ts,V6 it's more stable overall, especially if you drive in high speed corners. And ...yes! The sexy v6 exhaust note that outperform TS model
Hi.Good vid.Simple,clean,gutty.I suggest you update the description box mentioning the "75"name as it would easen visibility of the video since the car is mostly searched through that name.Cheers
So much more interesting and sophisticated than the E30, and I'm a BMW guy! Also owned many E30s (and race them) so not taking anything away from the E30. But the Milano is in a different league, and in my experience, almost as reliable.
Hi, congrats on your purchase. The cats and front and section use a Shankle test pipe and the rear is Ansa with a not quite stock twin pipe exit. Whether or not any of these pieces are still available I cannot say.
Shame most USA examples have the 3.0L engine. The 2.0TS is almost as powerful but much lighter therefore handles even better with an almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
Im front Italy this car Is beatiful , alfa romeo Milano or 75 is last true alfa romeo , After 1993 Alfa Romeo Is charged in fiat with alfa romeo badge and front wheel drive , new Giulia Is return to old alfa Romeo with rear wheel drive I drive Always italian cars , drive classic alfa romeo Is plausure Is unique experience . I have 75 1.8 i.e from 1990 and love my alfa romeo
HAd a beautiful and awesome handling Platinum. Sadly, the first gen ATE-Anitilock breaks would fail intermittently and leave me with ZERO breaks. That happened twice and I sold it :(
I've driven both. Some say the 2.5 is sweeter sounding and freer revving. Not sure I agree.... but what is not debatable is the presence of that 30 extra HP!
3:10 "Nobody knows what it is...." Shit nigga to me EVERYBODY knows what it is LOL... but we're weird. I drive an '88 535is for a DD. The Milano is flat out too risky to DD and there's only a handful of them for parts too. Great cars, in between a BMW 3 and 5. And that soundtrack. Of course the BMW M30 is primitive next to it but it still works fine.
@@jbh1126 Hey Man: Rolling with CK - Bavarian Classic to Cavanaugh 2021 ua-cam.com/video/zzi0R5PS3DQ/v-deo.html BTW my housemate is one of the best Italian car and bike mechanics ever. Big into Alfas. riderfiles.wordpress.com/2012/09/24/hernons-honda-ahead-of-its-time/ Peace.
"This isn't a car for everybody...." Really? What's wrong with everybody! BTW if you think about it the Jetta MK2 was similarly-proportioned. When both of these cars hit I was like, in Heaven. Yes I'm an ass man LOL.
Handling and power are superb, sadly the ATE anti-lock breaks were under-powered and problematic. If & when they fail, there is no power assist and the breaks are essentially worthless. imagine coming down a hill and the breaks fail electronically! Ive had the ATE unit-sensors malfunction, and the breaks literally cut-out in traffic. Luckily, both times (yes, twice) I was close to home. Scary, seeing that we did quite a bit of undulating mountain driving in our 75 Milano Platinum.
Milano Verde brakes are definitely not "under powered" when working correctly. It sounds like the brake bomb failed on yours which caused the hard pedal and no power assist. I'm not aware of any issues relating to ABS failure along with loss of power assist failure. The brake bomb can and will give plenty of warning before completely failing.
Aside from regular maintenance, in my 3 1/2 years of ownership the Milano has been a reliable road warrior, even on long road trips. I've owned newer cars with less miles that have proved far more troublesome than this Alfa. Fantastic car.
What a fantastic sounding engine.
Busso V6 Engine!
simply awesome. this has always been my favorite looking alfa, along with the 164
thanks! cheers!

Quite possibly the best driving car I have ever driven. 1000x better than the over-hyped e30 anything..
cheers! thanks for watching, be sure to subscribe and check out my other vids!

Im picking a 2.5 milano sunday already have a 12v 3.0 ready to go in
Great video of a great car.
The V6 sounds amazing but I drove a TS, a turbo and a V6 and the I think the turbo engine suits this chassis the best.
The V6 is a smooth pleasure to drive
@@studiocalder818 it's slow
awesome video! great footage and driver and of course, the car
Cheers! Thanks for watching!
It's an Italian E30. I have always wanted one of those. Probably just for the intoxicating exhaust note.
so true, but some say it's even better than the e30

You really want an Alfetta GTV6
What is your exhaust set up? I just bougut an 87 Milano Platinum.
I believe it was unmuffled, stock exhaust.

I remember the biggest issue was the cam seals leaking in the front.. Other than that, awesome.. I sorta miss it...
You lucky owner.
Take care of it

Maybe Quadrifoglio Verde?
Sound
How much better is the 3.0 vs. the 2.5?

Riding along with Mike Kovac in his perfect condition Milano, one of the last true Alfa Romeo cars before Fiat took over.

is there a better sounding car in this price range ???
not likely
Let me ask a slightly different question.... is there a better driving car in this price range?
È bellissima, poi tenuta così è il top
1989 Alfa Romeo Milano Verde.
yes!

he started crying because he thought he was never going to be able to sell the car.
Classy car, no-class exhaust. Sadly overcompensating and obnoxious. Stock Milanos sounded fantastic.
To each their own :) In my opinion, the stock exhaust was WAY too quiet and sold a great sounding motor short.
