I used to judge Sharpay when I was a kid because I thought she was boring and arrogant, but now, looking through it, I feel sorry for her because she really liked Troy but he wouldn't give a shit about her :( And she's confident and knows what she wants. She's not perfect but she's not afraid of being herself and chasing what she wants. Like GOALS.

I never really appreciated the choreography that went into this song, looking back you can see how progressive High School Musical series was compared to other Disney Original movies. It was quite diverse compared to the characters Disney throws out today (Teen Beach Movie, How to build a better boy etc). That main couple was a Latina girl and a white guy (interracial), the best friends were African American and sharpay ends up going for zeke in the end which is also an interracial relationship. I like how much they explored sharpay's character and past. Most characters in that role are known to be one dimensional and purely evil whereas with Sharpay they explore her more and we get the reasons for why she is the way she is (competitive, over dramatic). This is my opinion by the way so you don't have to agree
