OMG! This is me! Post menopause, Stage 1 PR/ER+ HER2 - breast cancer. I am miserable. Depressed, anxiety ridden, sleep deprived, walking zombie. Every single menopause symptom you can think of, I have. My oncologist threatened that I would get breast cancer in 3 years if I don’t take an Aromatase inhibitor( Exemestane). I’m furious. My quality of life is so much more important to me. Thank you so much for this information.

What about estriol? Instead of estradiol? i've read about estriol sold online in cream form , maybe it's a safer option? Have no idea but look into it ask doctor

where can we find the example informed consent for physician use for treating patients with HRT after breast cancer?

Great discussion 💛Yes, an emotive topic. It's just astonishing how politicised oestrogen is.
Like you said, when it isn't about babies, there's little interest in women as people in their own right.
I'm menopausal, on E, P, VE and T. I haven't had breast cancer, just normal meno, and I've come across medical barriers and very negative attitudes to HRT, and sadly women's suffering is expected to be ok. For women after breast cancer, it seems so, so much more difficult for most of them 😢
Thank you for really getting into the topic logically and compassionately. And for sharing it with everyone. Because we women really need this kind of spoken support from the medical community, putting the right information out there. And we need doctors like yourselves, who are actually giving women the proper treatment and care now, today 🤗🤗xx

This is such an important (and definitely emotionally charged) discussion. Thank you for opening up the conversation about balancing quality of life with risk of HRT for cancer survivors. What’s the use of living an extra decade or more if “surviving” is full of misery and/or pain?! Go Meno-posse!

Treatment for stage “0” breast cancer has changed my life completely! Partial mastectomy, radiation and then Aromatase iinhibitors were the plan if I didn’t agree to a double mastectomy! Aromatase inhibitors led me to really bad health. They lead me to osteoporosis, vaginal symptoms described, skin changes, sarcopenia, etc…. I truly believe that my risk of a fall/hip fracture from osteoporosis/sarcopenia is a much bigger concern for my life span and health span than is the risk of recurrence or another breast cancer’s mortality. I want to “live” until I die, not survive until I die. My breast surgeon told me that no qualified doctor would ever give me HRT as it is malpractice! As you state, why isn’t treatment my choice? I wonder, where are all the pro women groups to help fight this BS?

The fact is, you’re never going to know what caused your breast cancer. Even empirical science is correlative to some extent. Anybody can get it at any time. Even on BHRT if you got breast cancer, first time or the second time doesn’t mean it’s the hormone replacement, causing it, it’s just no way to actually know definitively. But life sucks, and the hormone replacement causes protection. It should be an option that we get to have.

Been on HRT before hormone replacement and did Estring after prescribed by gynecologist and oncologist. I just did not work that great because it was unopposed which causes spotting in a lot of us. Also, the material rubber silicone whatever it is is irritating.

Full hysterectomy early 40’s, put on estrogen patch. 5 years later breast cancer, taken off patch and no help whatsoever. Poo-poo’d when I asked for any help at all. Nothing. Then, diagnosed with osteoporosis 5 years after. And I had to fight to get a dexa scan and only got it because I found a Nautropath to refer me. My GP absolutely would not, I was too young. Not only have I been dealing with health issues since my treatments but I’ve been going through menopause for 12 years. Is it too late for me? Is there hormone therapy I can take?

I’m a 17 year breast cancer survivor from age 54. I had a large lobular tumor, 8 chemo infusions, mastectomy with sentinel node biopsy (3 positive nodes out of 11 removed). No radiation, tamoxifen for six months. It hurt my stomach.
Last year I went to a Gyn who is a member of the North American Menopause Society. She recommended a 100mg testosterone pellet for brain and bone health, which are the reasons I was seeking help.
I’m on my second pellet since December. I love it. Better sleep, more energy, more fun. Good luck!

  • @lisahardeman-dunn9211

Yeah, so much anger and frustration, we want to live a decent life. Also, we don’t want dementia. Maybe we want to have a physical relationship maybe we don’t wanna go bald maybe we wanna sleep. I have come in contact with several online agencies that claim to prescribe HRT but when they hear, I am a breast cancer survivor 10 years out, stage one HR two negative the SHUTS alloy, JOI just name a few. When does this get better? It’s exhausting. Yes I am a health and medical advocate and I’m advocating for myself, but I do get tired of educating people that really ought to know this information.

I think it’s important to also address unopposed even vaginal estrogen such as the Estring. Which I was prescribed post breast cancer. Without the progesterone component, this often causes spotting setting off the endometrial lining. This happened to me every time I inserted a new string. GYN did not want to take an account that the timing of the spotting, she said she just wanted for the heck of it to do a uterine biopsy now that was effed up

Do you have a generic consent form that you can share for providers to use? I have been going to an integrative doctor in Atlanta and she is very open to trying HRT. I shared your video with her and she was excited to hear the information. She has her own consent form, but was interested if you had one that you share.

I have a question about progesterone after breast cancer. If one is prescribed tamoxifen, which comes with a uterine cancer possible threat - should one not take the progesterone with the tamoxifen to counteract the threat? And where does estrogen dominance play in this scenario?
Hope you can answer/clarify these questions/concerns…

  • @lisahardeman-dunn9211
    @lisahardeman-dunn9211 4 місяці тому

Yes, for most of us none of those other options work. They’re kind of a joke totally optimized as a health and longevity specialist. Still all of the classic symptoms are overtaking quality of life, and I am concerned about not having the protection or replacement gives.

Shared decision making. Informed Consent. DO your research, print it out, have the conversation with your dr or OB gyn. They said all of that. Come PREPARED to your appt & BRING the data, the science. Flight for your right to choose. Be persistent, don't give up, be courteous & respectful, but persistent. Keep trying. Maybe after one dr continues to deny you, find another one.

Quality of Life. QOL. Risk to Benefit (if your individual situation & health supports it,) show that the benefits outweigh the (small) risk. Informed Consent. Shared Decision Making. 😊

other providers do not recommend the pallet. Extremely hard to adjust it and dig it out. I would do a cream or something different.
