Loyal is a understatement. My 15 year old Jack Russell "Zap" is my best furry friend I've ever had. The thought of life without him someday is hard for me to think about. God bless the Jack Russell Terrier🙏❤😁
They are the best! ☺️
We lost our JRT 2 years ago. As a puppy vet said she would only live @ two years because of a heart murmur. She lived to be 14 and a half. Loved that little thing, she had the biggest personality of any breed I have ever known. She was our second JR our first died when she was 12. I now have a maltese, broke my heart so bad I couldn’t get another one at the time but miss them and their characters sooo much. If I was younger I would definitely get another. My advice is train em young and praise them, they’re super smart and they’ll spend the rest of their lives wanting to learn more.
Once you go Jack, you never go back❤️
I agree with you. They are very loving ❤️
Has learned “treat”, “ride”, “no”, “move over” “go to bed”, “Wanna take walk?”, “what’s it?”, “Janie’s here!”, etc.
I love my Jack Russell Terrier he's given me so much love and have a lot of tricks up his paws.
I love my shorty JRT Bruno to itty bitty pieces and he stole my heart when i got him as a PUP, I never wanted a dog and was kind of a mean and angry person but since learning from my baby Boi iv'e chenged alot and hes made me a better person and such a proud Father to him! could not recomend this breed enough!!!!!! thanks pets a plenty and keep up the informative and great videos, and may Yeshua JESUS CHRIST BLESS and PROSPER us all!
i have a JRT called Bruce he is in april 15 years old, he is still fit don,t run so much as before love riding in my car, his hearing is not so good every noise near him he is scared or don,t know what it was. He is such a good dog he has a bed in everyroom and is secure at home god bless him and i will miss him when he is not there anymore, he sleeps alot at the moment but sometimes when he is outside he searches for mice and is relaxed. Don,t know how long he will live but he is allowed too do what he wants within reason. A good family dog and shows love too
I have one female since she was a puppy, now 12 years old, she is very inteligente, loyal , affectionate, act like a kid, she loves affection, cuddling with us, and yes still barking a lot anything to anything moving that are not us. She loves walking or trips on the car with windows open, because she is senior now I don’t let her walk more then 15 mins, even though she can keep going, because she won’t complain, but later after it is done she will be at home sore limping from one leg, So I put her in a dog’s stroller and keep walking for an hour, while my jack Russel enjoy the viewing!
For my 12th birthday day my dad will buy me a jet on this Saturday!!!!!
I am on my second JRT. She is 8 months old. She replaced my 16 year old JRT that I loved so much. I didn’t think I would ever get another dog. Then my wife bought me our new dog and said you are happier with a dog than without. I went 3 years before she finally got the new pup. She is right. I am happier. :)
Having a dog is one of the best decisions. They are the best!
I lost my Jack Russell 16 years old a week ago.I started to look for another a week later.I found one but still had to wait a month for him to be weaned. l got him today and l am thrilled . He has some big paws to fill after my other one but I am sure he will !!!
I love jack russell terriers they are great dogs
I lost my Shortie JRT this past June...to old age complications. I had him by my side from 8 weeks old until he turned 19 year's old. He was AMAZING and I miss him so very much. He was my sidekick and went practically everywhere with me. A truly wonderful companion. 💕
I'm so sorry for your loss.
19 yrs is amazing. He had an exceptional life with you. RIP sweet little doggo.
My JRT was put down at almost 16 years old. My personal trainer, fun companion, always ready to play got cancer.
To the end, he would lead when I got his lead, but the walks got shorter with each passing day.
A loyal companion. I miss him.
I recently lost my jrt... :( his name was Rufus, he lived until he was 17 years old!!! I can only say that he was a dog with a lot of energy, fast and affective. Now I understand why every time he escaped from my backyard lol they need to run!! Also at all times He wanted to eat something haha ohh love I really love him…And to think that in his last days, he could barely walk. I miss you Rufus

I feel your pain, I lost mine Dec 6 2021 to complications from hymphoma. I am still in the midst of grieving. 💔
@@davidchoy3871 - sorry to hear. Remember all the joy and smiles and happiness he brought to your face - w/ that tilt of his head and loving curious look in his eyes....
Best animals ever. I miss you two. Thank you for being my best friends in my darkest days. I will love you forever P&J. Naughty bastard but I loved you so much. I'm sorry I wasn't there when you said goodbye. I will forever regret that. I have your photos on my screensaver and I will never forget our moments shared together. I love you so much.
I love these active little dogs although I have never owned one. Back when the show Frasier was on TV, my favorite character was Eddie the JR terrier. He was awesome and cute as heck!
Mine does the state down just like Eddie!😂 She wants something. You just have to figure what. 🐶❣️
Hi, Thank you for this great video. This is the first time I have seen your channel & I will look for them from now on. My husband and I are seniors and we adopted our approximately 7 year old Jack Russell from a local shelter about 2 1/2 months ago. We are absolutely in love with him. He is such a sweet and loving dog, not to mention highly intelligent. He was returned by his previous owners who said he was too destructive. He was also on 2 medications for separation anxiety. We were advised not to put him in a crate or cage because he had scraped his paw pads raw as per his previous owners. As it turns out meds were not necessary and he has not been destructive. Our vet helped us to wean him off them and he's doing just fine. Hos only drawback is he goes after other dogs and cats when on a walk. He is slowly improving with lots of consistency but progress is slow going - but there Is progress. Finding a dog behaviorist is very hard and I don't think zoom will work with this behavior so we are pretty much just trying our best. He is so worth it!
You made the best choice! They are such a smart, sensitive and energetic breed. They take punishment personally..positive reinforcement and treats helped me a lot. You sound like you will be fine, so will he. I'm sure he's found his furever home with you.
I have a jack Russell terrier, she is 15 years old now, is a daughter to me, she still is so adorable, behaves like a kid, she has her way to ask for things she wants , she is not much active like when she was young, but still ask for a daily walk. She is only sensitive to pollen and in good health. I will share this, she has a yearly vet. checkup, very healthy, but year ago I notice her been more lethargic and the look in her eyes were sad , walking like tired, the vet run a test , she was fine. She was no eager to eat at meal time, until one day she stood in front of her food for a while before she started eating. Like she she didn’t like her dry food, ( a good one for her age, expensive too) like she used to. So I google the best non dry food for dogs, after searching few of them, I got one that is pre cooked , grass feed meat and other of chicken( Open Farm brand), only because I watched a video of how they make their pet food and I liked, is a little expensive, but worth the money, after I watch my jack Russell eating with so much pleasure and no more walking tired ,her eyes has a shiny glow now, her hole behavior change drastically within the first week, she look happier again, and asks for her meals like she used to, twice a day , 3/4 a cup or 1 cup each meal sometimes . No more dry keballs!
We have one and we love her as a kid...my kids love her and we played a lot during evening in our living room and walk 30 mins everyday...we love her and we hope she could have a puppies to care.
My jack russells throughout my childhood and now adult life all would sometimes run away, but always come back within an hour.
Are they notoruous for gettkng lost ? ir do they normally come back
@@theruddyone6443 depends on the dog. Some aren't bright some are very smart.
Mine did too. She would run into the forest on walks, and catch up with me every time. Usually within an hour.
im so proud, we're having one :))
Same
My neighbors got a jack russel last year and she's been a blessing. Everyone loves her!
We have a jack russell terrier his name is ranger he is 1 year old he has lots of energy and personality traits like Squeaky Noises playing outside and playing with the other 2 dogs
We have 3 girls from the same litter but with different personalities, sizes and shapes since they were 8 weeks old (girl #1,medium coat, so sensitive, returned by 2 different owners due to her behavior before we adopted her ; girl #2, runt, so tiny and sweet, denied by everyone, girl #3, almost hairless, innocent face) sometimes they’re overly active for us. At first, I was their favorite and my husband can’t even get close to them. Whenever he’s closed to them…honestly putting it…it’s like they’re going to get hurt…crying like they’re being beaten to the point where it’s not funny anymore but over time they learned love husband and won’t leave him alone. Long story short, they will be 1 year old on January 25th and we love them more than anything. They complete our daily lives
Best dog ever. As a child I had different breed dogs. All ok but jack Russell’s are best. My first JRT passed away last year from epilepsy. I thought I was going to die of heartbreak. My husband got me another one not to replace the one I lost but to create new memories with our new one. Lola is beautiful, smart, loving, playful, funny. She’s everything that’s good about a dog. I would never have any other breed of dog.
I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you can make good memories with your new dog
they are wonderful intelligent dogs, loyal and playful, brave and so affectionate she lived for 17 wonderful years
They are intelligent dogs. Facts!
My JRT is aggressive towards bicycles... He chase people who ride bicycles... Huhu.. But I still love him..
Our JRT, Lulu, barks and bites at everything, rake, vacuum, lawnmower and everything in between! She is the best dog and because we lost her brother back in May 2021at almost 18, we are now looking for another JRT. They are awesome dogs!
Jacks are the best breed in the world, my Jackson is all the video shows. But still I would say, if you don´t know the breed, don´t get one! They deserve a handler that knows and understand them and they can be a handfull. They can get wild if not trained and treated right and they really get their feelings hurt and get sad if you don´t treat them gentle though they are so rough at times. But the word is true: Once you go jack, you never go back ;-)
True
Totally agree. I've had dogs since I was a child. I met my first jack Russell at 40 when I got one as an 8 week old puppy, he's 2 and a half now. I loved all the other breeds I've had but...I'm furever a Jack Russell fan now. They are the BEST. I'm about to buy Munchie his first skate board.
💜💜💜💜
Thanks for all the information.
Have a jrt that I got from an animal shelter. Her ears are docked as well as her tail. Why would this sweet funny girl end up there? She gives me hugs and kisses. Yeah, she barks a lot but, it's just her way of telling me someone is near by or at the door. I've never owned a jrt before. I couldn't live without her now!
I used to have one but sadly he died I miss him very much and I've been crying alot. I want another Jack Russell Terrier
I am so sorry for your loss.
It's the best dog I ever had this is my first one
We're rescuing a Jack Russell for Xmas this year on the 21st, her name will be Harley, she has black spots, I can't wait, I'm already in love 😍
I love love love my short Jack Russel. Going on 14 yrs. great with the kids and the cat. A better dog doesn’t exist out there for me. I love my Brandy. And that’s my cat as my profile. Love her too.
Excellent
❤
Lovely
Very helpful video
Glad we helped! ❤️
My girl Penny is a mischievous, precious, loving alarm. I love her so much. I had labs all my life. Such a sweet gentle breed. But this 12 pounds of sweetness has been a totally awesome addition to my family. 🐶❣️
The Jack Russell Terrorist! I love them.
lol!
My lovely JRT Sophie is pure love and sweetness ❤❤💫🥰
Jack katie
They are the best 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
A few months a go my jack russell died after 12 years but by far that was the most loyal dog ever. Also it was really fat.
It's always tough to lose a best friend.
I lost my 16 year old JRT in June this year - She was such an incredible friend! I've never had a dog like a Jack, the best ever.
I'm sorry you had to say goodbye to your pup.
I've had JRTs for many years and they are the greatest dogs in the world! Cheeky and full of fun, they will make you smile even if you've had the worst day.
Had three 5 yrs apart. The first two were half-sisters. different as chalk and cheese. the surviving jack is 10 this year and is one in a million. He works out every day for 2 hours minimum and tends to wear out his friends a Staffordshire Bullterrier and German Shepard x Retriever. Walks everywhere off his lead including through town (Nantwich, Cheshire) carries his chuck-it ball most of the time.

Everything you said was completely true❤❤❤
Thank you for watching! ❤️
My boy CHARLIE actually 'hitched a ride' with the UPS Man... While the Driver was carrying their package to the Neighbors house across the street, My boy jumped into the Truck and went into the back of the truck..... the Driver, finishing his delivery, got back into the truck and closed the door and drove off...only to find Charlie looking up at him when he opened the door for his next delivery. The driver finished his task and 'backtracked' to his last Drop to find me outside calling for my dog....
Lol Too Funny!
I take exception with the notion that JRTs are good with very small children. They don't like being tugged on and especially cornered. They should be supervised with little ones. Older chilren are amazing with these doggos. BTW I've had 3 girls and have had lots of love & giggles and trophies left at the foot of my favorite easy chair. I lost my last one a coupla months ago at age 17. I miss Winnie Dixie every day!
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Best breed in the world!!!
They will change you!!!
For the better!!!
💖
My JRT is not really funny.
And she doesn't like to jump. BUT she love us, protect the home, because she hear everything out of house and she love my child's friends. If you have kids, you have to tell them JRT are NOT toys! They need them own space and also rules because they are dominant sometimes and try to make own rules
I've owned 2 a male and a female. If you are young n have alot of energy, get a male. But if ur older and want to chill get a female.
👍
Our Jackie past lookingforanother help us find one will you we miss her so much
Oh yes my shela Jack russel t errs is great loveable indeed
My baby Nikko!!
any suggestions on how to potty train a 5 mo. old JRT ? thanks
🐶🐶🐣
Okay I admit, this dog's awesome. My brother owns one, and keep telling I should handle it rather them cause they're done with his quirkiness. Well also my mom's keep telling a 'NO' whenever I ask her, What should I do? I'm confuse, be a human with that lil' fella so they(my brother and his dormates) can have a little peace or let do the command of my mother?
They are wonderful for apartments. Mine is… lol
Very enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed it
Do you sail jack russell text me back
That video would put you off getting any dog ever, get a dog and enjoy it for the dog and you.
We love dogs! 🥰

Mine jack will nibble on my neck. Sleeps under the covers right in my stomach.
Aaw! That's so cute!
Does anyone know where I can get a JRT puppy at?
Try the dog pound. Just got one at ours and he is great! He is two years old and a delight. House broke him in three days and am teaching him not to chew and learn his name and to come when called. He is a fast learner and a bundle of joy. He does have a lot of energy compared to other breeds, but I delight in that. Mainly working on him trusting us. He was found in the country and very skinny. He gained a pound at the dog pound and is adding a little since we had him. He got fixed so has a cone on for two weeks. He is smart enough to figure out how to get to things with it on. So go on your local shelter sight, you can also in some places put your name on a list. People get them and do not understand the breed, like people who live in a small apt or have no yard. They need running space for they are very active. So they give them to dog pound. Someone dropped this one off in the country. Took me three days to house train him, and it has been a week and he is not chewing everything now but his chew toys and things we got him. One no yesterday and praise when he had the allowed chew toy. So, he is almost over the chew in less than a week. They are real smart.
@@leem200 they are perfect for running with & hunting small rodents especially in the house you won’t have a rat or mouse settling down. Keep them active as long as possible same routine different route. Mine is about 14 years old. Enjoy your time with them as much as possible. Good luck 🍀👍🏽 thanks for the advice.
Why show a Pitt bull when describing Jacks?
Lol right? And a Basenji there too
Funny you're talking about jrt and put a Basenji pic and some brown dog in there ;)
