The two wheels allows easy transit fore and aft while allowing the helmsman on the lee side to see the headsail tufts when beating. A single wheel couldn't do that on a boat this size. The absence of a closeout (transom) on the rear of the cockpit allows sea water to quickly clear the cockpit. The design of each reflects blue water experience.
@@jackshannon7977 Not to mention, double wheels are amazing when double handing. You can sit a person at each helm and trade roles of driving and trimming jib as you tack upwind.
