I bought it from a guy off craigslist and it came with the original battery + an aftermarket one. Battery life is definitely an issue for this camcorder. Can only shoot for 30mins-1hour per battery
how did you import the clips onto your pc? i see videos abt getting the camcorder station but its so rare to find :/ or was also wondering if you could do it with an sd card reader?
I use the Sony Play Memories home software to get the footage off. had to use an older MacBook with an older OS because the Sony software isn't updated to run on newer OS
While it's great to record new stuff looking old and nostalgic, sadly it's not the fully same as having videos recorded 2005 - 2009. Areas, people etc all different

for the dcr-sr42 you need the docking station to get the footage. sd card is for pictures only. ebay or craigslist is your best bet

@@bryce2jz it's a separate thing that I use to charge and get the footage off the camcorder. not sure how the trv 38 works
you can use AV out and a capture card as well.

I know but it's still worth a try and 5-10 years from now we will be saying the same about this now
