I’ve seen people praising so much on Goong Min’s acting, however one should know that expressing all kinds of emotions only with those eyes and without a single line is such as wonderful as well. Goong Min is an expert of this. I truly love both of them, but I would like to give my praise to Eun Jin here because she was Gil Chae ❤.
gAhn Eun Jin's role as has great impact & so pivotal to this heart-wrenching story. She was from a noble family, spoiled, conceited & self-centered. War put her through trials & tribulations that brought out her wit, strength, resilience & ingenuity. When Eun Jin first read the scrpt, she understood the weight of Gil Chae's role that she even told herself, "I better not ruin this.' Indeed, she gave it her all to bring Gil Chae to life on screen,
The latest episode truly showed how much the 2 of them love each other. For Jang Hyun to accept whoever Gil Chae is and disregard what she can bring to the table, and for Gil Chae to finally be able to put aside her responsibilities, and her pride and to wholeheartedly accept his love for her. I wish their story could go on together because they are both so wonderfully written, but also want it to come to an end to have a happily ever after for the 2 of them.
Just finished watching My Dearest and I could say one of the best kdramas I have watched so far. You'll be on a rollercoaster ride of emotions on this one. I don't think I'll be able to watch another kdrama in a while because I'm still absorbing this beautiful masterpiece. The protagonists acting are just top level especially Nam Goong Min's. You can just feel his emotions with those eyes. That's why I always love watching his dramas.
1:44-1:51 feels like a dream. the way they kiss, how she squeezes her hand on his chest, and how he sees her for the first time... a memory to hold on to, a love to remember, a kiss to pass on love to, and trivially a rope to hold on to (from which to then fall into the arms of the one who...). crying!!!!!
This series broke me.. what he went through for her to protect her.. when she finally came around i was so happy for him... at least they gave us an ending worthy of our tears! 😭💔💜

I'm awed by Namgoong Min's acting with just his eyes!!! His gaze depicts pain, acceptance, empathy & unconditional love. Considering that during that era (1600s), Joseon people considered a woman who was merely touched by a man as already impure, therefore such blemished women must kill themselves. What more with Gil Chae who was sexually violated by the invaders? Even her own family looked at her as society's outcast. This scene portrays the depth of Jang Hyun's love for Gil Chae as immeasurable.

Me ha encantado esta primera parte. Como él cayó enamorado al principio, pero quiso ser un hombre que ella no pudiera tener. La evolución de ella fue increíble, como pasa de ser una niña mimada y caprichosa a una mujer adulta con respinsabilidades. Me emocionaron sus diálogos y sus silencios y se fue creando un gran amor por parte de los dos. Los actores merecen un reconocimiento total, muy bien interpretados sus personajes. La música siempre acompañando los momentos de más emoción y el vestuario una preciosidad. Me gusta más el vestuario de él que de ella. Creo que han variado un poco el hanbok tradicional masculino . En fin, deseando que termine la segunda parte para verla del tirón. Felicitaciones porque va a ser uno de los k dramas de este año.

They end up together. rebirth is overuse trope in kdramas these days, hope they don't go that route if they want to make part 3 of My dearest. Jang Hyeon was actually a real figure during Mancu Joseon war era and followed the Crown Prince to Simyang for 6 years and lived up to 83 years old. So many years to tell their story 😊
