      @@wadumin By the way, Christoph Waltz received an Oscar for both his portrayal of an SS officer in Inglorious Basterds and for his portrayal of Dr King Schultz in this film. Two films, two Oscars, not so bad, right? He is also an excellent actor in other ways.
      In this film, finally, a German-speaking actor (Austrian) who doesn't shout "Sieg Heil" every 10 seconds and goose-step. This is pleasant for a German (like myself).

I love how QT finds people like that to be in this movie ask8ng the question he was asked in the 1965 movie so Famously Quinton.. Brilliant! He's my favorite writter director and alw6s #1 casting !

      Tarantino did do a good job portraying the brutality of slavery but because he throws the jokes in, which are funny, I find that some people don't see the violence like they should. I watched these 2 before not this guy annoyed me with this reaction. It's sometimes hard watching white people who don't know anything about slavery watch a movie that depicts slavery.

      @@Xfactor444-x4n "White people", these reactors are Iranian, you racist. Also, not sure if you knew this, but the Barbary slave trade involved the slavery of white Europeans. Slavery isn't exclusive to one skin colour. Maybe read up on the global history of slavery before you imply that white people weren't also slaves and know nothing of slavery.

    • @VirusSI
      @VirusSI 3 місяці тому +3

      No it wasn't worse. For some reason people think that everyone then had slaves. Slaves weren't cheap and only the wealthy had them. And when you pay a lot of money for something you treat it with some degree of care. If you were Elon rich you could probably afford to be an asshole (like he is) but mostly a slave was a valuable asset, a tool to make profit. Just like today a farmer has to take care of his tractor, then had to take some care of his slaves.

    Tarantino's greatest (to me) is Inglorious Basterds. The filming and editing is as near perfect as one can get and put him up there with Kubrick; the story is great fun (a Jewish WWII wet dream); great music (especially the segment with Bowie's "Putting Out Fires"), plus Waltz got the Oscar for his performance as one of the most evil men ever. Only problem with it is I don't think Tarantino will ever top it.

    Just a few details you wouldn't know about slavery in America: 1. The beer was almost certainly the first Django ever tasted. 2. Django could not read properly because he was just learning how from Dr. Schultz, because it was illegal to teach slaves to read. 3. The reason Brunhilde fainted is that separation, for slaves, was nearly always permanent. When a loved one was sold away it was mourned like a death. 4. You wondered if Steven was evil, but it was explained earlier when Django was asked to play a Black Slaver. He said that a Black Slaver was "Lower than a Head House N*****", and Steven is the Head House N***** at Candy Land. 5. You wondered why Steven was pretending to be "old and rusty". In America, Black people have to know how to act around White people to stay alive and out of trouble. TO THIS DAY Black people have to do that act to avoid White violence. Even our Black President had to do the act. It is similar to the act that women did when they had to pretend to be weak and stupid when working with men.

      "Black people have to know how to act around White people to stay alive and out of trouble. TO THIS DAY Black people have to do that act to avoid White violence." Except they're usually the ones escalating situations and perpetrating the violence.
      "It is similar to the act that women did when they had to pretend to be weak and stupid when working with men." Women would call this weaponized incompetence, and it's still used today. Not because they have to, but because, as women, they can usually do it without anyone complaining/getting mad at them, and it's one of the things that makes their lives easier. They also use it to make judgements about men.

    Hello Amin and Anet, I very much enjoyed this reaction. I believe you're going to get a lot of traffic to your channel in the coming weeks. Keep doing what you're doing and try to post every week if you are able. Also, react to popular and classic movies. I think you may have tapped into UA-cam's algorithm and hopefully you will see many more views and subscribers. Tarantino has to be my favorite director. Living in the South of the U S, I think he did a great job portraying how things would have been in the past. Another movie in which you might enjoy Christoph Waltz (Dr. King Schultz) is Inglorious Basterds. I don't know if Jewish people are a touchy subject or not for you, but it is set in World War 2, and Waltz plays the villain in this movie. I like Tarantino because of his unique style, and typicalky he writes his own stories. Many times he empowers females as heros, and writes different alternatives of how things could have been. Also, you must check out Kill Bill if you haven't seen it! Anyways I love you guys, and I wish you all the best! Take care, Mark.

    Im a Sri Lankan. Movies like this really help us understand why racism today is dumb, esp. in the US. White americans looking down on black americans because of the poverty and the fact that their cultures dont mesh well together- well what do you expect? These people spent centuries being treated like animals. Sigh.

    • @CasuallyCareening
      @CasuallyCareening 3 місяці тому

      Black people are not looked down upon because of poverty, or at least I've never heard of it in nearly 30 years of living here. It's usually because a lot of them behave very poorly, and are excessively violent, often without cause. Their "culture" is often extremely uncivilized and rarely has any resemblance to that of which they came from. Of course that isn't going to mesh well with a civilized society. That isn't white people's fault, except for the British bringing them over here. And as a consequence they've had to "suffer" a significantly higher standard of living than if they'd been left in Africa. A lot of black people are racist too. I see way more racism from black people than I do from white people. White people have also been enslaved and treated just as badly as they were as well. And it's not like similar things weren't happening amongst themselves in Africa before they were brought here. And, it's still going on there today.

    Gran película. Leí hace poco,no sé si es cierto, que Di Caprio, antes de grabar una escena,se separaba de sus compañeros unas horas antes,no se veía capaz de interpretar a ese personaje tan odioso con el trato cercano a sus compañeros, necesitaba un tiempo de concentración. 👏❤🍻

    Christoph Walz, the actor who played Dr. King Schulz, has been awarded with an Oscar, for his work in this movie.
    But, that wasn't the first time he appeared in one of Tarantino's films
    .
    Walz is playing a very important role in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds.
    I will not say more about that movie. You know, I don't wonna spoil anything.
    ... but this: Quentin Tarantino was totally impressed my Christoph Walz's acting skills, when they shot Inglorious Basterds.
    Tarantino said in an interview that he told Wlaz to tone his acting down. Just a little. Because all the other actors in the scenes couldn't keep up with the quality Walz had been delivering... the viewers would recognize that discepance of the different skills of acting, in the final movie.
