Awesome great little mod, I had the stiff gear issue for a long time on my mk6 1.25 you just gotta clean the part and it changes the car, feels brand new again and it's so easy to shift now.
the two shifter cables have little grab bits at the bottom which ur supposed to spin then they just slide in and out no problem and then u just turn it back once ur done to lock them into place, not sure if u did that or not just prevents damaging the cable
Got a Kaypart Quick Shift Kit For Ford Fiesta MK6 ST150 being delivered today, as I'm having a used gearbox being put on and some other things. Hopefully it feels better than it does now.. which sounds like it's going to die and is stiff on gear change most of the time and sometimes cannot even go into any gear.. which is fun at a roundabout
@@jackomalley7703 most definitely, favourite mod I've done and so easy to install, just make sure when you swap them over the rubber bung stays on the original
@@jackomalley7703 I measured the throw from the heater panel on the dash and from 1st to 2nd was 7cm and 20cm so 13 cm of throw and I installed it it went 10cm and 17 cm so it decreases the throw a hell of a lot.
@@Jmncarter someone in one of the fiesta groups mentioned they were having supplier issues, probably didn't help that they were taken over by another company either though 😬
Those short shifters sound like they go out of stock quickly like the DRL headlights I bought. Went out of stock within 24 hours when they came in. Can sort of see that difference though I'm sure you only notice it when your driving 👍
hello mate, the top linkage with the cream coloured end made of plastic does it have a tiny circlip to hold it on at all? mine popped off recently when i was being a bit enthusiastic with the changes. was wondering if it had a type of circlip holding it on?
For anyone wanting extra info on how to remove some of the parts without using a hammer you can check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/Oc2tb6_bYWU/v-deo.html (and no it isn't my channel, I watched the video to improve gear changes as they were stiff and this solved the issue.)
@@Jmncarter wasn’t too bad was just a pain putting it back would rather strip it completely than do the way I did it lol and haven’t put my foot down yet need to bed them in with gentle driving for 100 miles but can already tell they’ve made a difference having to change gear a lot quicker 🤣
@@6uiltdifferent yeah I watched it, saw you had a bit of trouble getting it back together. Good on ya tho for doing it yourselves. There defo on my list in future 👍
Love mk6s pls keep posting while we’re stuck at home 👏🏻🙏🏻
Will do bud 👍
You don't need to take the back plastic cover off to remove the selector arm. The cables twist and can be removed by hand. You don't need a hammer 👍

Did you get the ST150 ones or is there a difference between that and a 1.25 one?
