Great video takes me back to 70s and 80s milking with bucket units and then with a fullwood pipeline in the byre. Scraping with a 135 and the self fed silage. Happy new year 🎉

Your milking style parlour takes me down memory lane when I used to do relief milking for smallholder farmers throughout Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire 40 years ago and well done to Harry for lending you a hand over the Xmas period, Rich 😊
Great video Harry, so much more confidence showing through in the last few months, well done. You just need to work on your Dance class at school now, 😂. (Joke) Have a great New Year and best wishes to Dad and all the family.

Well we knew the farm was in good hands when Harry and Jack come of age but we now know the you tube channel will be in good hands if you choose to hand that down to him Richard 🤣🤣
Ahhh you’re bringing back memories Harry lad, but when I milked I had to carry the milk to the tank and pour it in. And before that we tipped it into milk churns and placed them on the milk stand ready to be collected. We packed in milking in the mid 80s as the small farmer got pushed out of business and our guaranteed monthly income then stopped. In the small dale where we were there was eleven hill farms that had a dairy herd now there are none. I moved away but the farm is still there with half of the land sold and the rest let out. But it never had to go that way it still could have been a viable farm but when my father died my older brother sold every head of stock off and I knew then that was the end of the farm and my father would be turning in his grave! And now with a brother who wants nothing to do with me he sits on the farm living off rent and still retaining government grants.
