I’m an adoptive parent, and it’s one of the best things we’ve ever done. It all goes different for each person and I don’t know if you read all of these, but we are an interracial straight couple (I’m black, husband white) we have a bio daughter but her birth was so medically complicated. We decided for or second child to do a birth adoption through American Adoptions. Our son left the hospital from birth with us! It was a great experience…not to say everyone has that but it was. We know people who’ll have adopted through lots of different methods and I’m so glad we did.
A parent doesn't know how special a child is. One day, when my great-grandmother was alive, she told my mom that she doesn't know how special I am. In fact, I am special.
I’m with y’all! I haaaate when people ask me or other women about having kids! I’m a married mother of 2 and people STILL ask if I’m going to have another one! People are never satisfied or they don’t have anything else to talk about! I’d rather sit in silence than be asked about having more kids! SN: I feel like you both should do what’s best for y’all and it’s not our business! I love this podcast, but it is too short 😭
It’s the worst! I have one daughter who’s not even 2 yet and people are always when she’s going to have a sibling. I think that is so rude. I don’t have help from family it’s literally just me and my husband so one child is more than enough especially this early.
Funny 😄 how Miranda knew Raven was cheating on her with Korean food 🥘 and they all know Raven. I also love ❤️ Korean food 🥘 and would love ❤️ to hang with Raven 😂😂😂😂😂 have you tried the oxtail soup 🍜????? O-M-GGGGGGG!!!! Let Miranda try it and you’ll both be addicted 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I’m personally anti kid I think choosing to have a kid in this world is wild! It’s such a huge sacrifice and you have to be so selfless! Seeing ppl endure the highs and lows of raising a child or children!! Yea couldn’t pay me! I mentally and emotionally couldn’t handle it! I’m kept by grace alone when it comes to maintaining myself!
Love this conversation.... I took a lot of things from this, there is so much information out there but the one thing that people have to do is.... the work and the research. Its so easy to depend on what others say about this and that but what if your this and that isn't theirs.... now what. Do the work and take everything as it comes, day by day. As it was said, every situation is different and will paved its on road.... I believe you both will be great parents.
I have carried a child in my body, and I have walked in a hospital and brought a three day old home with me. For me, when it comes to forming a bond with the baby, it was actually easier the second time with the adopted child. I WORSHIP both my boys and have since the first moment I saw them. But not everyone is a good fit for adoption and there is NOTHING wrong with that. You just need to have deep conversations with yourself and be honest with yourself about what you’re comfortable with. Babies are blessings regardless of where they come from.
As someone who is almost 30 and pregnant.. 10 weeks. Its rough. And it’s beautiful. But the hormones take over your life especially in the first 12 weeks. It’s very difficult but it’s rewarding!
I could see the two of you as mom/Ma. The two of you are so insightful in love and really are a team. I think pregnancy/adoption would only bring the two of you closer.
I find myself wanting more each episode…. Love the chemistry, sense of humor and the ability to honestly and openly talk about all topics. Love this topic… As of now, I don’t want any kids.
I never asked people if they’re getting married, if they are having kids, or what’s their sexual preference or orientation. I don’t care this as long as you’re a good person and you don’t hurt animals❤and kids
🤣🤣🤣 Ravens' baby cry was soooo good. Well, her impressions are super funny. How awesome would it be to be married to someone like Raven 🤣🤣 happy for you both! 😊
Yes I have two and I'm 37 and people were telling me I should have another one well I'm 3 months pregnant right now and I have a lot of nausea and all these problems right now it is so hard to deal with a difficult pregnancy and still be a mom
10:46 yes! My two were totally different.9lb first girl had to have fast flow nipple because she couldn't get enough and just kept climbing to need more and more ..but we also dealt with reflux so it was a struggle, wasnt able to produce enough milk for her at all. Second girl was 7lbs 12oz, was able to supplementaly feed only bc my milk didnt have enough of something to were she was coming close to failure to thrive in the hospital... but i was able to pump and supplement and she shot up in weight. But she had to have a slow flow but no acid reflux. But both kids wouldnt had trouble latching bc of the large breast and engorgment thing. I am a ff naturally so they got so big i had to have dad help give them a spot in my breast tissue to breath. 12:33 and put on peppa pig i swear. Both girls loved peppa and picked up a whole lot of accent and slang that they could turn off and on 😆 but we still have at least one of them ask if we're getting petrol when we stop at a gas station.
Ever since my mom and I have a communication about parents, I decided NOT to have a child of my own. Cause I'm not prepared for it. So I told my mom not to ask me for no grandchild cause I'm not gonna do it.
Super off topic but im genuinely curious... Raven? When your wife admitted to doing voodoo on you to make you stay with her and putting her cycle blood in your food... how did that make you feel and are you ok?
❤❤❤😅❤❤❤ Love this channel. You two are the reason I found UA-cam. I'm binging your last few posts because I watched, but didn't comment. I was chillaxing when I watched. I need to comment on my pc. I usually have too much to say so I need to TYPE. 😅 I'm with you Miranda, no calling parents by their name 😉 On to the next 😊❤
Opa and Oma is also twinned with another language.Afrikaans which is spoken in South-africa.The pronunciation is the the same, not the spelling. It's spelled Oupa and Ouma and it means Grandad and Grandma
Raven have u tried the Cleveland brand of kimchi they sell it at Publix and target. It’s soooooo good it has garlic greens and spicy red peppers in it! If u haven’t tried it do it!!
I'm not sure and can't be sure if they have the best skin care specialist of all time, or the best genes, but their skin is porcelain on camera. No excessive oil production either. Nice.
not korean but i know what you said cause i speak it. plus hajima is a super basic word. its like gracias, you just know what it means even if you dont speak the language.
As a first time mom who’s super ocd and loves all the research and has older sisters and family telling me everything I needed to do, I just would buy a small pack of diapers or one pacifier or bottle and try it first don’t buy a giant amount of things and then hate them or find out your baby doesn’t like it or is allergic or something. Or just do your own research or go with items that you’ve seen work like Huggies I’ve seen my twin nephews never have leaks with those but I had to try both types of Huggies the red and the white box, I learned from experience. Your baby will tell you if something works or doesn’t work. And glass or silicone is always better over plastic, and avoid rice cereal with heavy metals. Things like that are easy to research. But then when your traveling those food pouches are convenient just try to find a good brand you can get almost everywhere. You’ll make it work don’t worry. And if u find some thing better later once ur baby out grown that phase u can use it with the next baby u know live and learn. Mom guilt is real but u will find a beautiful community/ mom club that get what ur going through. I literally breastfed my baby the way I see most people just hold a baby not like a reverse weird football position lol like they tried to force me to do but my baby latched on no problem like that for two years! So do what works for you and your baby. Formula is great also, they have so many great options now days! Between the two of you you already know way more than most new moms. ❤❤❤❤
So as someone that had a planned c section and just got finished breastfeeding for a year, yes giving birth is a common thing among people/animals/whatever, but you can’t say it’s the most natural thing in the world. How often do you go around giving birth? It’s not natural at all. I did a lot of research about birth and within myself and my body and I knew a planned c section was right for me as well as breastfeeding. It’s not natural. You don’t always have a baby attached to your boob. It takes time to figure out. And it’s perfectly ok to ask for help if somethings not working. That is the most natural human thing. What is the first thing a baby does when it is born? It cries for help. In a time of so many hormones and changes to your body, mind, life etc., DEFINITELY ASK FOR HELP. It really does take a village. ❤
I agree with Miranda in that it’s weird kids call parents by their first name! It’s super weird!!!! Why would it be ok Raven? Just curious. Thanks ladies for this cool 😎 chat ❤
All my babies had tight frenulum’s. It sucked for sure because I wanted to breast food but I got through it and bottle fed and I gave as much from my breasts into the bottle as I could produce. 😊
Hahahah I freakin love LOVE you both, and yes, damn the older we get (I’m 42 and the eldest millennial) the gas’s ssss is real, whyyyyy like whyyy, everything comes out smelling like death, well where dead things go to poo 💩 lol help us universe and fix this this please lol
I was really excited to be pregnant and be a mom until I learned about intergenerational trauma lol. How to Raise an Emotionally Intelligent Child is great. Now I’m reading Montessori philosophy. Not judgmental, just scientifically proven techniques.
That every egg that was inside you was also inside your mother and carries that trauma thing is a lie. They also kept saying that on The Kardashians this season and then finally called a doctor who told them that's false. Stop turning to Tik Tok for education.
Hey girlie! What’s going on? My name is Kay Rose. I’m the owner of a new Entertainment Magazine (Mainstream) based off the 90s Sitcom Living Single. I was hoping we could get the chance to Feature you in the Magazine. Have you apart of our launch, we are currently on issue 2 featuring Rakim, Case, Vitto of Nappy Roots and more. We would love to get a Front Cover story on you.
Idk, I feel like if the only reason you choose surrogacy is because you don’t want to sacrifice what pregnancy can do to your body and hormones then maybe you shouldn’t have kids. A baby bonds in the womb with its mother, you would sacrifice that bond and you would be taking the baby away from the surrogate who the child bonded with for 9 months. It’s one thing if you physically can’t carry a child or if you want to go the adoption route. But to create a child with your DNA and then not carry it because you just don’t want to go through pregnancy is selfish.
I'm an adopted kid and that's not a reason to have a child to say you had one, I'm a product of that!! I couldn't see Raven with kids, don't do it,you would be doing it for a selfish reason!! Please don't.....
So, every woman doesn’t have the ability to become pregnant, carry a pregnancy, and give birth. Call me picky, but both of you guys said, “every woman can…” and one of you is a Doula, so it’s important to be mindful of what you say when you have influence and a platform of many people to say it to. Example: One of you began a statement by saying, “As a Doula, I know every woman’s body can do it…”
Omg omg I’m complete my whhhhhooollleeee life I’ve been compared to the likeness of you and omg I’m saying omg to much but fuck it you’ve always been a sister in my head I feel like we’re kindred spirits and now with the Korean ness ness you opened up about omg me to my fiancé is always sayin in your past life your had to be Korean because I’m in love with everything Koreans too ok had to let that out 😅

if you guys have a baby, I hope the child has a bit of Raven's "I am excited" squeals.
As a mom of three. Every last pregnancy was different and every postpartum journey was different. It’s scary and amazing at the same time.
Please PLEEEAASSEEE try and get Michelle Buteau on here. I really think you all would have a great conversations. On and off camera honestly lol
Agreed
4 months later your wish came true ❤

Having Raven and her wife Miranda as my personal favorite channel, I do enjoy Raven's content through Disney, and this channel combined.
Perfect timing… was just needing something to watch 🥰

I just love y’all! The honesty is so real here. Some things woman don’t talk about enough
As a mom of 4 I say block everybody's opinions out. You really don't know until you get in it.
😂😂😂😂 the way this started reminded me of those conversational think piece videos that we’re going around SM in 2020, I think one was “heartbreak bae”.
I like the topic! You 2 would be GREAT Moms. ❤️
🤣🤣🤣 Ravens' baby cry was soooo good. Well, her impressions are super funny. How awesome would it be to be married to someone like Raven 🤣🤣 happy for you both! 😊

Truthfully, it's a mother's choice to either breastfeed the baby or give the baby a formula.
Opa and Oma is also twinned with another language.Afrikaans which is spoken in South-africa.The pronunciation is the the same, not the spelling. It's spelled Oupa and Ouma and it means Grandad and Grandma
Yes we will help raise it, laughing but very serious 😂💛

All my babies had tight frenulum’s. It sucked for sure because I wanted to breast food but I got through it and bottle fed and I gave as much from my breasts into the bottle as I could produce. 😊
Oma and Opa is Dutch though?

That's whats up I can help with that ❤

Having or raising a child is never selfish. Not bcuz u went thru whatever...yr projecting.
As a Woman. I've never wanted 2 have a child. I knew early.
In Spanish, they said "Mama" or "Papa".
💎💪
