Shame on us to just know how it actually is thank you , been playing this riff for years and years even did a cover of this song , you're a demigod. Hail Black Fvcking Metal !!!
I’ve noticed sliding in a few different DarkThrone songs and always just assumed it was multi tracked with one guitar playing the melody and one adding in slides for effect. Transylvanian Hunger has some weird stuff going on at the 3rd Riff, or “Bridge” if you want to call it that. Most people tremolo pick the E5 to F5 power chords at the open and first fret on rhythm guitar while the lead guitar plays the E5 to F5 arpeggio at the 7th and 8th fret but every time I listen to the album I notice little embellishments and possibly even a few barre chord strums in there. There’s definitely more to it than what most people play. It’s nothing major, but it adds a bit of atmosphere that I think often gets overlooked.
Excellent ear - Darkthrone riffs come across as so deceptively simple, they do sneak in subtle intricacies like this

I can only hear it as a slide now 😂
Great epiphany, Simon! Thanks for sharing the results of your sonic investigation!

Nice ! I will try that. But yes, the slide is here, maybe not all along to the next note but yes, it makes the difference
Thanks Simon !

Hi Simon! I have a question for you. I don't have a bass guitar, can I use an octave pedal for bass lines?
Good ear there Simon haha
