I am more visual in my learning and it would help a lot to see you "John Madden" the play before it plays out. THANKS and expect me to re-sub you on twitch as soon as the next period comes up.
Really good vid. I'm specifically trying to hone in on my micro rn and am wondering whether you would be willing to do a micro-themed coaching session. I'm sure we could get something set up on metafy
Came into this video very skeptical but now I'm very impressed. Background: I'm a former GM top lane player who typically plays simple to play bruisers or tanks. I am very macro oriented, focus on solid mid game sidelaning + transitioning to team fighting with good team fight skills. I see lots of players in gold-diamond with great mechanics, sometimes a lot better than me esp on flashy champs, but they fail to rank up beyond their current rank due to such silly ass mistakes going for kills that lead to nowhere (and that often result in them dying and throwing their lead and team's initiative on the map). I thought your vid was gonna be about making crazy Zed R plays, but in reality the way you approached the "micro" aspect was perfect. This can be applied to literally every champion in the game regardless of how hard or easy mechanically. This is great and fundamental. It's exactly how I approach the game, and I know when i play a few champs I'm strong with, then I can already predict how the fight will turn out, or at least eliminate a lot of paths in the decision tree before the fight begins. Great vid, keep them up!
Coach curtis from the broken by concept podcast said it best: At the end of the day League is a fighting game. You cannot win without fighting the enemy. The other recommendation was to look at replays like this 1. Micro, could I have played this better and won it? If yes, macro doesn't matter, just win the fight next time 2. If no, why are we making this play? If unclear, make a different play next time
"if yes, macro doesn't matter" this is wrong, as you wouldn't be in the winning position without macro. without macro, you wouldn't even have the opportunity to kill regardless of how good your micro is.
Its not that, rather: use your skills efficiently and know what you can and cant do Just showing intent wont get you anywhere, making a bad play with intent wont turn it into a good play
That has nothing to do with micro, though? "Save your skills for when the enemy uses theirs" is just punishing mistakes. Hand to eye coordination, quick reflexes, efficient movement, juking/dodging skillshots and a lot more are what separate high challenger from master-gm players. Edit: the speed you proccess information is also part of micro, thats why high challenger players can identify the best possible play so quickly, and since theyre already anticipating it, they react to things faster.
You can use both to climb but its easier to climb with micro because micro only depends on you not your team, whereas you can have the best macro but struggle if your team doesnt help with your macro decisions. Sinerias proved macro can win games by winning in emerald with 1 hand but it would be easier to climb if you just his micro instead of just his macro
I've recently realized (after switching to top lane for a month) that I actually have no mechanics. I'm glad I realized that though cause I'm gonna come back to jungle and actually work on improving my micro - something I've never done before. I hit low diamond with (as recently revealed to me) pretty bad micro and not much macro so I'm hoping I can climb higher now that I know my weaknesses and how to improve. Good vid
Again you showed where my mistakes are.. and AGAIN I know what to focus on next, thank you so much for doing these videos.. they are very helpful.. and I MEAN IT !
I've seen videos saying micro is everything, I've seen macro is everything, I've seen 1 trick is everything, I've seen learning all champs is everything, ive seen playing 1 game a day is everything, I've seen playing 20 games a day is everything, I've seen win trading is everything. Ok the last one is a joke but fr I don't think there is 1 way to climb that high, each person just has to find what works for them. A really discipline player that doesn't tilt can focus macro with a lot of games per day and overcome the micro by one tricking for example. Someone who's more adhd might benefit from hyperfocusing on a few games per day and focusing micro to get a high wr, making every game the best by adapting with a variety of champs best fit for each comp and overcoming macro by getting ahead on stats. Each player is different so it's important to find players who's brains work like yours and learn from them. I'm not saying this video is bullshit, just that for some people its the best way and for others could be detrimental. Micro and macro is needed regardless, but how much you focus on each depends on what playstyle suits you, just like someone can hit rank 1 adapting to the meta but someone else can hit rank 1 spamming 1 champ.

Interesting you made this video because this was kind of a revelation I had myself recently that maybe my micro just isn't that good enough to improve further yet.
so true. cross references the commonly made point of: champ knowledge > counter picks. the difference in micro gets you scrubbed regardless of macro concepts.
2 days ago I literally commented on August's short video that low elo players cannot be mechanical gods, and if they were they would climb automatically even if completely autopiloting afterwards. He states in the video that some players are very good mechanically but the reason they dont climb is due to them having bad map awareness, macro, etc. It's just wrong tho.
How is it wrong? Even if you're a mechanically gifted player and go 10/0 in lane it doesnt matter if you cannot utilize it on the map, know when to rotate or help your team around objectives all you do is sit in a lane and put pressure which the enemy team can easily play around.
u can be high elo with bad micro or macro if u are good enough at either, and agurin has been ran 1 and 2 at the same time,, so i would trust his opinion.
Even more important than micro (cause yes i believe micro is more important than macro too), is the mental, being just robot like emotionally, taking the best decisions, wether micro or macro wise, and not being influenced by bad ego, anger, fear, uncertainty or panic is truely the most fundamental thing next to game knowledge, before micro & macro, imo.
Sinerias said it well and I think it shows you need both. He said "If I gank I know there is a 0% chance of me dying and I'll only gank if there is an 80% chance of a kill otherwise I'll take camps" the problem with us mortals trying to replicate is there is never a 0% chance of dying or an 80% chance of kill since we dont have perfect mechanics like him and we can screw it up easily

@zinquay4692 strange, for all my life ive been climbing fairly easily through macro, I guess its just preference from player to player or its just because im a jungler. Come to think of it micro would be useful for laners since knowing even level up timers especially the first 4 levels can just climb anyone out of silver gold
This is great and another way that you can talk about this is champion mastery. Champion mastery is everything. If you know your champion's in's and out's you'd be far better than your opponent.
Nice, exactly what i needed, now its just to put this into practice, i would say i do it most of the time when i invade enemy jgler on khazix like can they escaoe even with flash since i have flash plus e but sometimes i would also just forget, or more often not look at the minimap at the moment and dont consider whos coming from enemy and my team
Well the difference between micro and macro is that for me to have micro that Eagz is talking about, I would need min 100 games a month, probably much more (knowing all skills of all champs and being able to track them). Having a good macro allows me to 1v9 games and enjoy playing a game from time to time, but as soon as I get a tougher matchup I am struggling because of my bad micro, which I can maybe cover up with macro later in the game. Isn't the kindred's mistake a macro mistake? Kindred shouldn't gank when the sup is low and can't do much, kindred shouldn't have ganked and that is macro
even if she shouldnt be here, she is envisioning a kill and that is all micro - she thinks that the fight is good and winning, but marks the cait and goes for cho gath instead of marking cho and going cho
this is not true, I'm an irelia OTP that gets an insane lead almost every single laning phase and never be able to carry with that lead because i dont know what to do, i dont react to the most obvious teamfights, i dont even join a fight thats right beside me even if im full health and fed because idk what will happen and im scared of it.
I had the same problem also as an irelia otp. Go to side, let your team mates show first in wave so you have freedom to progress the push, and after that just tp when fight starts. I was iron 4 last split, now im gold 4😅
Then you are good in a one v one but can't process the Micro when there are multiple enemies around. Fear kicks in from being overwhelmed.Totally relatable and still Micro skills.
I can relate as a yi main. I get kills have 50-100cs lead but without fail I'm the fed one farming top and a 3v5 breaks out bot and my dumb ass team tries to fight and all die and we throw our lead. Happens almost every game
Playing kata at max skill level, still stuck in master 200lp... Its a champion issue (in my case) cause whole enemy team playing meta picks and I need way more than 5 bans
I'm in low elo I just need 2, teemo and illaoi. If enemy team has one of them its like a 95% win rate. Split pushers like trundle and sion are like that too. Yesterday had an inting sion who pefectly won us a game we were 10k gold down by rushing their nexus and they killed him but his zombie reincarnation killed their nexus it was so funny
this video is.... not great imo.. assuming mmr is not made up. the people you are playing against have roughly the same skill in micro. at lower tier macro and map objectives 100% win. Why? because people don't answer pressure. the team forced ot REACT vs act is always behind tempo. Its similar to the phenomenon in a crowded rain station, someone falls to the ground and needs help. Everyone assumes someone else will go. That's just like pushing lanes. at 14 min if you can just keep pushing and focus on keeping pressure on their side of river you can win. period. At least at lower level play. Even in this jinx gank example there are so many other variables. What if she does drop choppers right under her, kites back, thresh flays you into them, not hooking or Q. then as you go to give chance OR run then he hooks having saved it. High elo advice does not work on low elo games about 75% of the time. you want to get great on your champion learn your easy and hard matchups, great. I am sure ill get flamed but people at higher levels of play say exactly what I'm saying and say macro is *NOT* key. it also greatly depends on the champion you play and style.
high elo advice does work, and you can’t see how i can kill jinx then yeh, it’s over, do you think any other shaco can block thresh q mid combo with box?
brainrot video for people that cant think all that the video said if you go in your enemies will try to stop you no shit sherlock i dont need to be challange to know that plus a lot of chams dont have micro what micro does leona have huh pressing my buttos i see i already do that i am suppose to tank so no dodging and hitting spells aint that hard when they are stuned so why isnt every leona player challenger since most of them got prefect micro?
@Eagzv9 Because some silvers literally have pretty okay micro but zero macro, most of my friends have no hands but they have macro that's why they climb. Understanding the fundamentals of a game will always be more important than specifics. Ofc micro is important too, but it's straight up wrong to say it's more important than macro. And I'm not the only one with that opinion, coaches like Kirei, Curt etc. say the same thing
you just said silver players have okay micro, but they cant clear camps by 3:30? they use spells when they should hold them? they start fights with R on cooldown vs enemy champs with R’s - like i literally give you examples even from a challenger game (the udyr vs nidalee) and you still can’t accept that micro is HUGE, and you didnt say anything in regards to the video nor examples in it
@@Hexishu The dude loses lane in silver what. And by "loses" I mean on a mechanical level not a fundamental level. He Macro's his way into a gold lead so his micro no longer matters.
@@echidnabathwater6627 Bro you clearly don't know who baus is. Isn't the kindred's mistake a macro mistake? Kindred shouldn't gank when the sup is low and can't do much, kindred shouldn't have ganked and that is macro
even if she shouldnt be here, she is envisioning a kill and that is all micro - she thinks that the fight is good and winning, but marks the cait and goes for cho gath instead of marking cho and going cho
ua-cam.com/video/dqxf4ZTJivc/v-deo.html Why did he Micro into Tristana when he Micros everything?
the tris dies after killing him
I will
Micro video good
thanks for comment bro
this is not true, I'm an irelia OTP that gets an insane lead almost every single laning phase and never be able to carry with that lead because i dont know what to do, i dont react to the most obvious teamfights, i dont even join a fight thats right beside me even if im full health and fed because idk what will happen and im scared of it.
Happens almost every game
you have same micro as irelking? kk
@@Eagzv9 even if i did, with my macro you wouldnt get out of iron. Also not a lot of micro is required to stomp silver players
What's that goofy ahh raiden shogun talon custom skin

lmao natty nat best rengar (Laughs in scrubnoob)
I’ll never be high challenger cuz I probably only put in about 100 games the entire year
quality > quantity
look he pronounced his name right
finally
the tris 2:50 xd
No macro ensures you to not even reach diamond
Nope
you think there is macro in diamond?
Kindred play was macro bad, micro bad and just complete bs.
Kindred was just playing autopilot.
excellent synopsis
unlucky you're wrong 100%
elaborate
@@Eagzv9 only over a call i cba typing an essay, but long story sort what you said can be learned and its the speed that makes difference
Yesterday had an inting sion who pefectly won us a game we were 10k gold down by rushing their nexus and they killed him but his zombie reincarnation killed their nexus it was so funny
but there are kat players higher than you?
this video is.... not great imo.. assuming mmr is not made up. the people you are playing against have roughly the same skill in micro. at lower tier macro and map objectives 100% win. Why? because people don't answer pressure. the team forced ot REACT vs act is always behind tempo.
Pressure dont matter that much if you leave your lane 9/0 in low elo XD
kappa chungus
I agree, i am sht :)
the way you tone words pisses me off
haha good
brainrot video for people that cant think all that the video said if you go in your enemies will try to stop you no shit sherlock i dont need to be challange to know that plus a lot of chams dont have micro what micro does leona have huh pressing my buttos i see i already do that i am suppose to tank so no dodging and hitting spells aint that hard when they are stuned so why isnt every leona player challenger since most of them got prefect micro?
bro you’re gold chill
Im sure you can fail Leona E, R, mess up the Stunlock combo and mess up de Flash combos like Q flash or R flash. So you're wrong lol.
its exactly the opposite
yeh bro what you just watched with all the low elo examples was fake
That has to be the most clickbait worst take i ever saw
just accept your micro is bad bro, you can do this
@Eagzv9 Ragebait used to be believable
ok ill take it seriously…how is the video clickbait? evidence your claim bro let’s go, or try to refute what i say in the video
And I'm not the only one with that opinion, coaches like Kirei, Curt etc. say the same thing
you just said silver players have okay micro, but they cant clear camps by 3:30? they use spells when they should hold them? they start fights with R on cooldown vs enemy champs with R’s - like i literally give you examples even from a challenger game (the udyr vs nidalee) and you still can’t accept that micro is HUGE, and you didnt say anything in regards to the video nor examples in it
hahahaha noob im already 1.3k lp XD
respect
But. . . what about Baus.
hes insanely good at micro ? LOL
he has insane mechanics bro
@@Hexishu The dude loses lane in silver what. And by "loses" I mean on a mechanical level not a fundamental level. He Macro's his way into a gold lead so his micro no longer matters.
@@echidnabathwater6627 Bro you clearly don't know who baus is. Also currently playing pro for Los Ratones, bro showed and proofed enough of himself, his ambessa alone in the one NNO tournament against Jankos I believe he literally 1v3 toplane and wins it. Also many clips where it seems like Baus is literally running it down, but that's just his nature. He also wins 1v1 against nemesis (ofc this has nothing to say) but just saying he loses lane against SILVERS is a bit of an overstatement.
@@echidnabathwater6627 Also dude's insanely talented on gragas, ambessa etc., he is also expanding his champ pool because of pro play, but it's okay.

Omg, I got the first comment under video from the best educative jungler on youtube 🎉❤
Someone should make a video for this guy named "Why You Will Never Be a Successful UA-camr" and explain how posting random clickbait concepts that are only ocassionaly true doesn't help.
Which one of their video is "not true", for you.
Genuinely asking I am a silver and started recently
