I’m a retired vet. We were trained to aspirate prior injections that are not meant to go into the blood. In fact, it is medical misconduct if you do not aspirate when needed, potentially followed by law suits. Why the same does not seem to apply to human medics nowadays, is beyond me.
you're not a human medic? :P It's because of the WHO guidelines for giving vaccines, they explicitly state it's not necessary to aspirate and treat every vaccine the same.

It is impossible to know whether an injection went into the muscle or inadvertently into blood without prior aspiration of the syringe. The WHO’s view is especially concerning also because the vaccine needles are very fine, and thus can nick fine blood vessels within the muscle.

Aspirating on injections yes!! I graduated nursing school here in the US in 1976 and this was standard protocol. I have a daughter who went to nursing school in the 2000’s and she was not taught to aspirate on any injections. I was stunned! I have been watching vaccines being administered and no aspiration of injection. How did we get to this point!?
I graduated 2010 and was taught to aspirate... I didn't even realize it wasn't policy anymore until seeing the issues regarding the aspirations and vaccines..... Mind you I rarely give IM injections, in ICU it's usually subcutaneous or IV.

People make mistakes, and the correct site maybe missed. Aspiration gives an additional safety to this, slightly more painful, but that is neglictable when you compare it to possible complications.

The purpose of the seemingly pathological drive to get everyone vaccinated is to ensure there is no control group of unvaccinated. While the unvaccinated exist then the efficacy and safety of the vaccines can be measured against them and that is already beginning to look bad as vaccinated cases grow exponentially while non vaccinated cases decline, This trend can only continue as the non vaccinated gain natural immunity and the efficacy of the vaccines gets lower and lower.
That's all its been, people having health issues and catching covid, sometimes while in hospital and then passing away, yet death certificate will just say covid. Fiend of family went in to hospital as had infection to do with gall bladder but unfortunately also had cancer and caught covid and it was too much for his already struggling body and passed away. Wouldn't put anything other then covid on death cert even though family questioned it.
'Compliance' is the word that stands out. Most people are complying because their rights are slowly being eroded with fear and coercion. It stopped being about health when the the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world started to influence the science, politics and wealth of those in government. Vaccinations for those who want it. Natural immunity for those who have it. Guidance and FULL information to those who need it. Think we have missed some key ethical points.
A lot of people do not want the booster and question being constantly made into pin cushions. Nobody is mentioning the down side of the vaccines. The non aspiration of jabs doesn't help.
I am in the US and when I got my booster I requested aspiration. We have a large teaching university hospital here in Birmingham, Alabama, who many of us go to for our covid vax. The nurses were shocked when I asked for aspiration. They stood back and informed me they were trained NOT to aspirate. I was also informed that the syringe was "special" and aspiration could not be done. I do not believe them.
It's true that the syringes for Pfizer are a different kind. I recently found that out. Perhaps they are made to not aspirate. What I read is that they are specifically made so they cannot be reused. Which is idiotic. Who would reuse a syringe?

As a dentistry student, we are told to aspirate before giving any injection even if the rate of positive aspiration is less than 1 percent. In many injections we aspirate 2 times in two planes. The fact that the medical guidelines for vaccination don’t involve aspiration is concerning and requires an amendment

True. And she was the one who said "a tempest in a teacup," in her initial reports. Dr. Campbell reported her opinions, quite fairly, a few times, and has repeatedly said (as should you), "We'll know more in coming weeks". Hopefully she's correct, but as he said in this interview, he well understands why policy makers are taking the position they are. And he has said that he listens to policy makers very carefully, because they have the smartest, most experienced clinicians as their advisors. Why don't you listen to him, and have a bit of patience while we wait and find out?

So I’ve been for my booster in Cheshire this morning (Pfizer) I asked if the lady was a nurse which she was and asked about aspiration and was told it wasn’t protocol and she wasn’t happy doing it . I told both her and the chap sat next to her , who I think was also a nurse that we were the only country along with USA who aren’t doing it and I wasn’t happy having it without them aspirating . The chap grumbled that they’ve not done it since polio days of which I said I didn’t agree , it was something they had stopped in paediatrics. The nurse went to speak to who I was guessing was another nurse and came back saying she was happy to do it . Apparently I was the 2nd person out of 15,000 who had asked . They weren’t happy but I didn’t care , it’s my body ! I’m so glad I follow you Dr Campbell 👍🏻

I have been to my local GP, who refused to aspirate, then I booked through the NHS a booster in Tesco pharmacy, I was again refused my request. It’s a brick wall, “not part of the protocol” I was told. So I remain in vaccinated because of the lack of training.

I'm a nursing student in the United States. It is now taught to not aspirate the needle. It's been deemed an outdated practice. It's actually against a lot if facilities policies now. I have never questioned this. However, now, I have a lot of questions. Why stop a practice that increases patient safety?

Hi Dr Campbell, I had my booster on Saturday the 11th I asked if she could' aspeirate when giving my booster, she was surprised but said it wasn't a problem, I explained about vaccine escape into the blood stream and could be linked to the clotting problems that have arisen. There was a huge paper on aspiration that said you need 10 to 15 seconds aspiration to mitigate risk, not 1 to 2 seconds. This is still absolutely fine and worth it and 100% with Dr Campbell on this issue

It was Dr. Campbell who first suggested that aspiration was necessary. His hypothesis was picked up by a German professor, who studied the incidence of adverse vaccine side effects, and agreed with Dr. Campbell's theory. That was how the whole question of aspiration came into the public forum.

The nurse giving my 2nd jab actually told me there was no need for aspiration as there is no blood in the muscle !!!! Thankfully the one giving my 3rd was more enlightened and aspirated.
We have a MSM in the UK that has only ever given one side of this debate. ie they have been complicit in scare mongering ! THAT is why there are massive queues for boosters. With more accurate information many would probably realise they don’t need it if they are not in a vulnerable category.

Regards to aspiration, my dad has his regular vitamin B12 injection last week at home. I asked the district nurse if they'd aspirate... "No, we don't aspirate" was the reply. I then mentioned about risk of injecting into a blood vessel, but was just told to not worry. I didn't like to push the subject of aspiration anymore, and felt quite dismissed. Call me a sceptic, but I didn't feel convinced the nurse actually understood what "aspirate before injection" meant.

I've been a guest on a local news station a few times. Each time I was on, they asked me to provide the questions they should ask. So, I was prepared beforehand, but that doesn't mean it was easy to be clear and concise when answering LIVE. Dr. Campbell does a great job!

I agree with you John, aspirating will make a difference. On my first shot when the needle was withdrawn, blood ran down my arm. On my second it didn't. I had a much stronger reaction for the 1st shot than I have ever gotten before from any vaccine. On the second...I barely had a sore arm, and the minor discomfort was localized. Thank you John Campbell for your coverage, I was vaccine hesitant for a long time but kept watching your videos, which are much better than the vague information provided by my local health authority. You are clear, precise and up to date on the latest facts/studies and statistics.

I asked my Doctor and she told me she doesnt do that and my arm almost fell off i had pain from arm shoulder neck do the chest area insane... and i did it on my left arm so even scarier with these symptoms and this in Austria where they want do mandatory vaccinate.

Except it doesn't. Aspiration should maintain a negative drawback for 5-10 seconds and I can say with confidence that never happens in the field. Perhaps time to review the practise Dr Shannon.

At one point in my life as an RN I trained nurses to give IM injections in the deltoid muscle. They were advised to aspirate and to use the z technique to ensure it Reached the muscle and did not just sit in the fatty tissue, a common problem with your slightly overweight person. Technique is crucial to ensure the medicine reaches the muscle. Otherwise you might as well not give it.
I was pleased that my 3rd jab was aspirated but only after I asked for it to be done. The vaccinator ascertained I knew what I was talking about & I verified she knew how to do it. No more uncomfortable than regular jab.
I also asked my doctor here in France to aspirate and he agreed...admirable, since this young man told me straight out he has been advised it is not necesssry!
I am still looking for a GP who is willing to do it. Got my request refused by three places already. This kind of attitude amongst 'medical professionals' does not seem to line up with the multi-million dollar campaigns that are run to make us get vaccinated, really. Apparently it is not that important that I get vaccinated after all.
@@ael3377 after the aspirated info Dr John gave early days, before my 2nd jab I asked at my surgery if aspirated was available, they didn’t know what it meant, honest! They hadn’t heard of it. I explained and referenced DrJohn. They made enquiries and by phone, virtually read a statement saying all the nurses did it as basic training but it would depend on the person at the mass jab hub as to whether they would agree to do it. She was the one who said there was no blood in the muscle so no she wouldn’t do it. Lol, go figure, lol
Hi there Dr. I’m a follower since the pandemic started and it was my mother’s turn this moning for her 3 doze . The nurse put moderna. My mother is 71. With several surgeries for arthrosis. When I have asked the nurse if they used to aspirate b4 she just answered with a total confidence: no, there is no need. And she inyected so fast that she didn’t give me time even to ask the reason. I hope nothing happens to my mother. And I really hope nurse is right with that:” there is no need this time” Thx so much dr campbell
Dr Campbell, a question if I may. If you do aspirate and you do see blood in the syringe, do you then use the same needle/syringe/vaccine in a different site or do you have to dispose of that needle/syringe/vaccine and use a new one?

Sounds like malpractice to me from the who. I was taught as an rn in 1979 to always aspirate an injection. Otherwise how can you be sure you are not in a vein or even an artery?
Some of the comments indicate a misunderstanding of what Dr. Campbell said: Aspiration of the needle means to penetrate the muscle with the needle, but before pushing the needle holder plunger in to inject the vaccine, the nurse should keep the needle exactly where it is in the muscle, but pull out the plunger a little to test if blood is withdrawn into the needle holder. If no blood is withdrawn then the injection can be made without the concern about the vaccine getting directly into the blood stream. Dr. Campbell did not say to partially withdraw the needle itself as several comments have suggested. In fact when he visually illustrated this we see him keeping the needle exactly where it was and only withdrawing the plunger a little.

Thank you Dr Campbell for all your great work. Omicron seems like it could be a circuit breaker, but the pressure on all of us to have a third shot is increasing regardless. In our town in Australia my wife and I, both in our late sixties and in quite good health overall, have received two Astra Zeneca shots, with no adverse reaction. We would prefer that out third shot was also Astra Zeneca, especially after hearing in your podcast of the study abstract that reported an increase in the likelihood of cardiac events, but at this stage there are no stocks of Astra Zeneca and we are being offered Pfizer only. I am wondering if there has been any follow-up to or further news about the study.
I had a Pfizer booster last week, administered by a GP in Coventry. I didn't watch him doing the jabbing, but mid-way through he said "No blood." I assumed that he aspirated and was pleasantly surprised.
I spent months trying to find someone who would aspirate and it was really difficult. The use of pharmacy techs, young military medics, and automatic syringes are the main obstacles since they follow the protocol like robots and have never been trained otherwise. I went on and on about being old school and explaining that I knew about the FDA,CDC protocol and why I wasn't buying their explanation, how there were few vessels in the Deltoid but not zero, about IM vs IV injections, platelets in the vessels increasing risk of clot formation, yada yada. Eventually someone old school came out, did it correctly and demonstrated pulling back the plunger saying "see? no blood" before pushing down...I really felt most people don't ask around, research, and insist hard enough. Its difficult in smaller towns and more likely to find someone in larger cities.
I was lucky enough to have a moment to discuss this with the tech at my local pharmacy here in a small town the US. He was aware of the technique, and was not expected to aspirate as a matter of normal course here, as to be expected, but he was willing do do it, and we discussed Dr Campbell. Another patient had sent him a link, I think the one where he interviewed the bicycle athlete (was his name Ryan, who did such a nice job of explaining his difficulties with pericarditis), and he was happy to watch more of Dr. Campbell's presentation. The word is getting out, the efforts of sensible, fact based information from wonderful clinicians such as Dr Campbell and Dr Seheult hopefully will win the day from the misinformation
The vaccine only lasts a few months. If you think you need a vaccine then why put yourself at risk? Have you questioned the contents of the syringe? You question how it's administered but trust big pharma with your life

I wager that is far worse than the risk of complications from Omicron.
Good interviewer, seems like John misspoke slightly and seemed to say it was the worst case scenario. The later context made it clear though that he believes it's very much not the worst case scenario. Great to hear John help raise awareness of aspiration.

I’m a retired vet. We were trained to aspirate prior injections that are not meant to go into the blood. In fact, it is medical misconduct if you do not aspirate when needed, potentially followed by law suits. Why the same does not seem to apply to human medics nowadays, is beyond me.

It is impossible to know whether an injection went into the muscle or inadvertently into blood without prior aspiration of the syringe. The WHO’s view is especially concerning also because the vaccine needles are very fine, and thus can nick fine blood vessels within the muscle.

Aspirating on injections yes!! I graduated nursing school here in the US in 1976 and this was standard protocol. I have a daughter who went to nursing school in the 2000’s and she was not taught to aspirate on any injections. I was stunned! I have been watching vaccines being administered and no aspiration of injection. How did we get to this point!?
The CDC site addresses this issue, and per their opinion aspiration is not recommended.
I trained in Auckland NewZealand in late 1970s and aspirating was standard protocol too.
I graduated 2010 and was taught to aspirate... I didn't even realize it wasn't policy anymore until seeing the issues regarding the aspirations and vaccines..... Mind you I rarely give IM injections, in ICU it's usually subcutaneous or IV.

We are not infants, and what is the guarantee that injection site is correct? People make mistakes, and the correct site maybe missed. Aspiration gives an additional safety to this, slightly more painful, but that is neglictable when you compare it to possible complications.

The purpose of the seemingly pathological drive to get everyone vaccinated is to ensure there is no control group of unvaccinated.

Fiend of family went in to hospital as had infection to do with gall bladder but unfortunately also had cancer and caught covid and it was too much for his already struggling body and passed away. I am in the US and when I got my booster I requested aspiration. We have a large teaching university hospital here in Birmingham, Alabama, who many of us go to for our covid vax. The nurses were shocked when I asked for aspiration. They stood back and informed me they were trained NOT to aspirate. I was also informed that the syringe was "special" and aspiration could not be done. I do not believe them.
It's true that the syringes for Pfizer are a different kind. I recently found that out. Perhaps they are made to not aspirate. What I read is that they are specifically made so they cannot be reused. Which is idiotic. Who would reuse a syringe?

As a dentistry student, we are told to aspirate before giving any injection even if the rate of positive aspiration is less than 1 percent. In many injections we aspirate 2 times in two planes. The fact that the medical guidelines for vaccination don’t involve aspiration is concerning and requires an amendment

So I’ve been for my booster in Cheshire this morning (Pfizer) I asked if the lady was a nurse which she was and asked about aspiration and was told it wasn’t protocol and she wasn’t happy doing it . I told both her and the chap sat next to her , who I think was also a nurse that we were the only country along with USA who aren’t doing it and I wasn’t happy having it without them aspirating . The chap grumbled that they’ve not done it since polio days of which I said I didn’t agree , it was something they had stopped in paediatrics. The nurse went to speak to who I was guessing was another nurse and came back saying she was happy to do it . Apparently I was the 2nd person out of 15,000 who had asked . They weren’t happy but I didn’t care , it’s my body ! I’m so glad I follow you Dr Campbell 👍🏻

I have been to my local GP, who refused to aspirate, then I booked through the NHS a booster in Tesco pharmacy, I was again refused my request. It’s a brick wall, “not part of the protocol” I was told. So I remain in vaccinated because of the lack of training.
How can a doctor refuse to aspirate? He must know why it was done in the past and that it won't do any harm to do it on request.

There was a huge paper on aspiration that said you need 10 to 15 seconds aspiration to mitigate risk, not 1 to 2 seconds.

It was Dr. Campbell who first suggested that aspiration was necessary. His hypothesis was picked up by a German professor, who studied the incidence of adverse vaccine side effects, and agreed with Dr. Campbell's theory. That was how the whole question of aspiration came into the public forum.

Regards to aspiration, my dad has his regular vitamin B12 injection last week at home. I asked the district nurse if they'd aspirate... "No, we don't aspirate" was the reply. I then mentioned about risk of injecting into a blood vessel, but was just told to not worry. I didn't like to push the subject of aspiration anymore, and felt quite dismissed. Call me a sceptic, but I didn't feel convinced the nurse actually understood what "aspirate before injection" meant.

I've been a guest on a local news station a few times. Each time I was on, they asked me to provide the questions they should ask. So, I was prepared beforehand, but that doesn't mean it was easy to be clear and concise when answering LIVE. Dr. Campbell does a great job!
it helps when they actually want to hear what you have to say. too many times during CV19 the interviewer was not interested in hearing more nuanced messages.

I agree with you John, aspirating will make a difference. On my first shot when the needle was withdrawn, blood ran down my arm. On my second it didn't. I had a much stronger reaction for the 1st shot than I have ever gotten before from any vaccine. On the second...I barely had a sore arm, and the minor discomfort was localized. Thank you John Campbell for your coverage, I was vaccine hesitant for a long time but kept watching your videos, which are much better than the vague information provided by my local health authority. You are clear, precise and up to date on the latest facts/studies and statistics.

@@chickensdontsurf I was very weak for 3 days, headaches, a very sore arm, pain behind my eyes, and meralgia paresthetica resurgence. I still have the PM symptoms but they are very slight now. How about you?
I asked my Doctor and she told me she doesnt do that and my arm almost fell off i had pain from arm shoulder neck do the chest area insane... and i did it on my left arm so even scarier with these symptoms and this in Austria where they want do mandatory vaccinate.

Except it doesn't. Aspiration should maintain a negative drawback for 5-10 seconds and I can say with confidence that never happens in the field. Perhaps time to review the practise Dr Shannon.
Always so articulate, thoughtful and reasonable....Dr Campbell for PM!! As Dr C says, aspirating would also allay some people's misgivings and bolster confidence in vaccines, especially for young men. Had my booster and just got told "it's not policy to aspirate". Well change the policy. NOW.
At one point in my life as an RN I trained nurses to give IM injections in the deltoid muscle. They were advised to aspirate and to use the z technique to ensure it Reached the muscle and did not just sit in the fatty tissue, a common problem with your slightly overweight person. Technique is crucial to ensure the medicine reaches the muscle. Otherwise you might as well not give it.

I was pleased that my 3rd jab was aspirated but only after I asked for it to be done. The vaccinator ascertained I knew what I was talking about & I verified she knew how to do it. No more uncomfortable than regular jab.
I also asked my doctor here in France to aspirate and he agreed...admirable, since this young man told me straight out he has been advised it is not necesssry!
I am still looking for a GP who is willing to do it. Got my request refused by three places already. This kind of attitude amongst 'medical professionals' does not seem to line up with the multi-million dollar campaigns that are run to make us get vaccinated, really. Apparently it is not that important that I get vaccinated after all.
@@ael3377 after the aspirated info Dr John gave early days, before my 2nd jab I asked at my surgery if aspirated was available, they didn’t know what it meant, honest! They hadn’t heard of it. I explained and referenced DrJohn. They made enquiries and by phone, virtually read a statement saying all the nurses did it as basic training but it would depend on the person at the mass jab hub as to whether they would agree to do it. She was the one who said there was no blood in the muscle so no she wouldn’t do it. Lol, go figure, lol
Hi there Dr. I’m a follower since the pandemic started and it was my mother’s turn this moning for her 3 doze . The nurse put moderna. My mother is 71. With several surgeries for arthrosis. When I have asked the nurse if they used to aspirate b4 she just answered with a total confidence: no, there is no need. And she inyected so fast that she didn’t give me time even to ask the reason. I hope nothing happens to my mother. And I really hope nurse is right with that:” there is no need this time”

Dr Campbell, a question if I may. If you do aspirate and you do see blood in the syringe, do you then use the same needle/syringe/vaccine in a different site or do you have to dispose of that needle/syringe/vaccine and use a new one?

Sounds like malpractice to me from the who. I was taught as an rn in 1979 to always aspirate an injection. Otherwise how can you be sure you are not in a vein or even an artery?

Bloody well done Doctor! You got the message out there and you did it in a way that surely will get some attention without the politics.
Some of the comments indicate a misunderstanding of what Dr. Campbell said: Aspiration of the needle means to penetrate the muscle with the needle, but before pushing the needle holder plunger in to inject the vaccine, the nurse should keep the needle exactly where it is in the muscle, but pull out the plunger a little to test if blood is withdrawn into the needle holder. If no blood is withdrawn then the injection can be made without the concern about the vaccine getting directly into the blood stream. Dr. Campbell did not say to partially withdraw the needle itself as several comments have suggested. In fact when he visually illustrated this we see him keeping the needle exactly where it was and only withdrawing the plunger a little.

Thank you Dr Campbell for all your great work. Omicron seems like it could be a circuit breaker, but the pressure on all of us to have a third shot is increasing regardless. In our town in Australia my wife and I, both in our late sixties and in quite good health overall, have received two Astra Zeneca shots, with no adverse reaction. We would prefer that out third shot was also Astra Zeneca, especially after hearing in your podcast of the study abstract that reported an increase in the likelihood of cardiac events, but at this stage there are no stocks of Astra Zeneca and we are being offered Pfizer only. I am wondering if there has been any follow-up to or further news about the study.

I had a Pfizer booster last week, administered by a GP in Coventry. I didn't watch him doing the jabbing, but mid-way through he said "No blood." I assumed that he aspirated and was pleasantly surprised.
Or there is blood on your skin when he removes the needle as there was with my husband. He's fine but the plaster was bright red...

I spent months trying to find someone who would aspirate and it was really difficult. The use of pharmacy techs, young military medics, and automatic syringes are the main obstacles since they follow the protocol like robots and have never been trained otherwise. I went on and on about being old school and explaining that I knew about the FDA,CDC protocol and why I wasn't buying their explanation, how there were few vessels in the Deltoid but not zero, about IM vs IV injections, platelets in the vessels increasing risk of clot formation, yada yada. Eventually someone old school came out, did it correctly and demonstrated pulling back the plunger saying "see? no blood" before pushing down...I really felt most people don't ask around, research, and insist hard enough. Its difficult in smaller towns and more likely to find someone in larger cities.

I was lucky enough to have a moment to discuss this with the tech at my local pharmacy here in a small town the US. He was aware of the technique, and was not expected to aspirate as a matter of normal course here, as to be expected, but he was willing do do it, and we discussed Dr Campbell. Another patient had sent him a link, I think the one where he interviewed the bicycle athlete (was his name Ryan, who did such a nice job of explaining his difficulties with pericarditis), and he was happy to watch more of Dr. Campbell's presentation. The word is getting out, the efforts of sensible, fact based information from wonderful clinicians such as Dr Campbell and Dr Seheult hopefully will win the day from the misinformation
The vaccine only lasts a few months. If you think you need a vaccine then why put yourself at risk? Have you questioned the contents of the syringe? You question how it's administered but trust big pharma with your life

While speaking, a video is shown of someone getting the vax without aspiration. At a million per day, and assuming about 1 in 3000 could reach a blood vessel, per a previous Campbell video, that's over 300 people a day at risk of serious complications. I wager that is far worse than the risk of complications from Omicron.

Good interviewer, seems like John misspoke slightly and seemed to say it was the worst case scenario. The later context made it clear though that he believes it's very much not the worst case scenario. Great to hear John help raise awareness of aspiration.
Way to go Dr Campbell, you got the soap box for aspirations !! It’s the way I was trained as a medic and interesting to hear how it fell by the wayside….keep on pushing.
