I appreciate it.
Damascus one of the oldest cities in the world. ❤
its the oldest human settlement
oldest capital and 4th oldest city
It's great to see 1st hand videos of ordinary life in places that are portrayed so totally different in the media.
In the western media
american media is disgustingly bad at that. why do you think most Americans are so ignorant
This is where Asad ruled they were no war. . The whole war, Damascus, was safe,
damn can we start sending back all the muslims then? seems like theyre doing juat fine smooking shisha
Syria people seem so nice and friendly
I’d like the contact of your guide. He did an amazing job.
Same here
@@hisham63polaris17Me as well. Sly's Life UA-cam group tour back to Syria.
His info is in the description
Respect to you as you travel to places most travel UA-camrs won’t go to.
Eva zu Beck went 4 years ago!
As he said, most won't go.
I use to visit Syria before the war ! It was very popular tourist country ! Was magnificent 😊you can go anywhere you like without any guid or security ! Was very safe and very beautiful ! It is hard to believe what happen to this beautiful country !
The garlic sauce is called "Toum". It's made with garlic, vegetable oil, lemon juice and salt.
Easier to remember as "creamy crack!"
@@SanityStick Are you implying it is good? 😂
@@KalelaChannel Man, there are stretches when I put it on everything. Definitely one thing America hasn't really discovered yet.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip! Looks like an amazing time!
My fave is how happy you look when you have food. You’re exactly the kind of traveler I am- walk around, watch people, eat, have some coffee.
That was a brief enjoyable one. I love how Damacus has preserved more of a traditional flair than Beirut.
Yes shawarma Damascus style is something. As you’ve seen in Lebanon we don’t add pomegranate molasses. And the spices of the meat itself might be different as well.
Will you be visiting another safe to visit city of Syria? Lattaqia maybe on the coast?
I remember an old UA-cam video that had a Catholic Cardinal living in Syria. The Cardinal said Syria had a better quality of life than Italy. . Haven't been able to find that video for about 10 years now. Travelers used to call Syria the Alternative Egypt before the war and It had lots of tourists.
Syria was always a lot better than Egypt, Egypt has the marketing thanks to the incredible Pyramids, but outside of that Syria was always better.
HO VISTO LA SIRIA NEL 2007, UN PAESE BELLO, RICCO DI STORIA,CULTURA,TRADIZIONI.MUSULMANI E CRISTIANI VIVEVANO IN PACE, PRIMA DELLA GUERRA.SPERO CHE LA PACE RITORNI PER TUTTI🙏
God bless the Syrian people
Hi Sly! I found your videos because I was searching for Rio de Janeiro. I watched that one and now you keep coming up in my feed. It's wonderful seeing a different part of the world, Lebanon and now Syria. Great seeing YOU in the video! The food looked good too. Looking forward to more of your adventures!
Thanx God Russia saved Syria from a disaster. Love and respect for local folks
Streets are much cleaner since the last time I was there. Very special city!!!
I’m from neighbouring Jordan and this video taught me some things about Damascus since I’ve never been!
Hi Sly. Syria has a beautiful coast on the western side. Go to Tartus, since you are in the area.
May God Bless President Assad for his protection of the Syrian Christians and all peace loving Syrian people.
While he dropped bombs on the rest of his country, killing hundreds of thousands and causing the greatest refugee crisis since WW2. May God curse him!
all said and done sly gonna be such a interesting person to chop it up with. probably has endless stories. traveling is truly the way to wisdom thanks for bringing us on with your journey stay safe out there brother !!
Beautiful country beautiful people 🇸🇾
Thank you for making us see that the world isn't as simplistic as the corporate media makes us believe. After I returned from a trip to Havana, Cuba, an American asked me 'was there music there? I heard it was banned."
First time viewer.... Subscribed!
That's a Man'oushe you had two of them LOL ! Originally has Za'atar/Thyme mix topping, but you can add whatever you like, could be cheese, tomatoes, peppers .... but you never call it Pizza !! It's wonderful to see the "Hakawati" is still there and thriving ... never been to a live session but hopefully someday soon will. Happy and safe travels and Peace to all.
the shawarma looks so freaking fire 😄🔥
I appreciate running across this in my feed! The "forbidden" places are always the most interesting, and almost always the most pleasantly surprising. Also, the food looked delicious! I try to have at least a gallon of toum on hand at all times.
Thanks for sharing
Looks great, thanks for going and sharing and inspiring👍🤙
Thank you, sir.
Love your videos
Great upload. Thanks for taking us with 💐
Love your vids!!!
MIddle east street food vs USA - MIddle east - EXCELLENT falafel, shawerma, zaatar etc... USA: subway sandwich, hot dogs, panera NEVER EAT THEM AFTER BEING 35 YEARS IN NORTH AMERICA. I miss the atmosphere of these countries, the sounds, the vibes.
Nice video - I was curious about Syria after all these years of turmoil. Ahmad is a likeable chap !
Thanks for being brave enough to bring it to us
Been there and the people were so kind ❤
pretty cool Sly, pretty cool !
Very absorbing! And so much more revealing than the usual sourfes!
Love it - so different, When you edit, can you put the names of areas or streets, I hope to travel the world one day, so I put on my map many interesting places - that food should be on it.
Damascus is the OLDEST-COTINUOUSLY-INHABITED-CITY in the world!!! I LOVE Damascus. 😊
From when?
while watching this video, I am thinking, is this what industrial-military-media complex so eager to want us to destroy? why do they want to do that? whats our problem with some normal people living in another country?
walking the streets of Damascus, very interesting :) 👍🏽
Looking forward to your videos. You look like you're enjoying yourself. Ahmad is a cool dude too. Come visit Latakia and Tartus please. It's also beautiful.
أبو حميد بشرفك اقنعو يزور اللادقية وطرطوس. الله يعطيك العافية. 💪🏻💪🏻
Another great video. I started watching your videos when you were in Colombia and South American. Curious to know if you've tried learning any other languages beside spanish since you've been traveling to Africa and the Middle East?
فيديو رائع، متابع جديد، اهلا بك في سوريا 👋💚⚘
Wow! 💯
Beautiful people
Thank you for the upload! I'm not syrian, I'm of Iraqi origin but I visited Damascus once with my family along time ago before the war and I loved it, despite being scammed lol! I don't eat chicken but will only break that rule if its authentic syrian shawarma. The best chicken shawarma in my opinion. Good to see that the city still hasn't changed or damaged by the war.
You are so welcome ❤️🤗 , I hope you enjoy your time and you should try our wonderful cuisine of course, we have an amazing variety of food and Arabic sweet as well
Enjoy
Nice
I truely hope Syrian people don't harm foreign tourists visiting given what's happening in the ME atm. I visited Syria 4 months before the civil war began and I wish to return soon. Inshallah
That’s called Alhakawati , the man who tells stories. It’s pretty funny and entertaining you feel like you went back in time.
Hello sly, did you go to the famous ummayadd mosque in old Damascus?
The streets are so much cleaner and it's definitely better than some of the streets in KuAla Lumpur. Even it's 2010
Very few people there.
I love you videos and that you're showing a party of the world that is often misunderstood or that we don't have a clear picture of today. Work on describing food better. "It's different" in the last two videos doesn't help us experience the textures or flavors. Looking forward to more.
Those shawarmas look craaaaazy delicious. 😲
How did you get into Algeria? Im referring to your past videos.
Enjoy food
Ask about baying appointment there
I am lebanese married to Syrian lady.
Chicken Shawarma in Lebanon and Syria they all taste the same.
Meat shawarma completely different in Syria from Lebanon. And Syria, you don’t need any condiments added to it. They use real lamb Shawarma not beef. The best meat Shawarma I ever had in my life was in Syria.
المطعم الصحي
Al Mataam Al Sohhee
I have eaten Shawarma in 10 countries and this restaurant just got the perfect 10 over 10 for its meat Shawarma.
I don’t think they add pomegranate molasses sauce to shawarma in Lebanon like they do in Syria.
Sly pops up in the most unexpected places 😆👍
Please be respectful when you are over there, remember you are representing the American people. And because of the abuse being dished out by the American regime toward Syria, many of them rightly will have a pretty negative view of the American people. Unfortunately.
They are not dumb. They know black Americans don't control anything in this country.
Not towards the American people, towards the American government and ruling elites, believe people in Syria Iraq..they know
12:57 old man really didnt want yall to ruin his daily story time
Reminds of the movie ROCKY 4 when he had to be followed everywhere. Other than that it looked normal.
The nicest people ever but have been unlucky
I wish to know prices you pay for food. You know street foods.
most of the buildings are older than the United snakes aka: destroyers of worlds
how did you get a visa
the regime did give him a one dirctly cause he is getting payed to just promote them
He has a Lebanese tourist Visa which makes it easier to get a Syrian one (land border travel)
You're still here?... wow
show allepo steve wonder
so you casually eat in the morning during Ramadan? is this the norm up there? when was this filmed?
Photography before Ramadan
As one black American to another, how are you finding the Arab people and culture? I know the food is good.
Are you learning any Arabic? You should!
I guess the next stops are Iraq, Iran, and/or Jordan??
Does the tour guide get paid?
Of course he does. He needs to make some money to be able to live you know. Of course plus a tip.
@@souadghazal2533 I'm not sure about tip. Tip is american culture
Any extra money I'm sure would be appreciated; especially during difficult times and a bad economy..... besides all tour guides (mostly in the west) get paid very little; it's mostly tips they depend on.. :) @@brandons2842 PLUS I'm sure those unofficial/any local person would gladly show you around for no fee or anything in return. It's part of their nature or character.
I'm sure any money offered will be welcome especially when things are tough in a bad economy. For tour guides in western countries tip is a must especially when pay is minimal and not enough to survive on and usually people are aware of that and they tip generously. Those locals will probably show you around for free being friendly, hospitable and eager to introduce their culture to anyone who's interested. Cheers.@@brandons2842
@Diego_Teixeira I just came back from UK and Vietnam and did alot of guided tours. No one tipped the tour guides except for Americans
I’m curious whether this footage was taken before Ramadhan because I see you eating on the street!
Do you like syria???
IF YOU WANT buy gold from syria it is good and cheap
spot price is same
You got to get another traveling agent 😂
8:08 no gloves though hopefully he washed his hands at least 😅
hhhhh yep
bro its Damascus not India I would not be worried😅
First
Third.
How can people live in this city who looks good and people dress well, when the country is still on war and one of the poor countries in the world ?
because he cant show that on his camera thats why he cant and would never be able to take videos by his own and show a bit of what is going on there, he got paid of the regime to promote them.
and by the way that's why he need the guidance guy (which he is basically an agent boy ) thats keep an eye on him
@@rooni.7709 ok nice
@@rooni.7709 stop lying people might be poor but trust me they can afford clothes
can afford clothes !! wow what a statment
@@khaledddddddddd08
if im lying i think numbers dont lie
there is 1 million got killed over 15 million left syria there is like 5 million refugee only inside syria and lists goes on and on and those number i didnt make them up they are UN stats

I liked it better when you were solo I don’t like the tours guide
Might be best to not tell them you are AmeriKKKan given what your country has done to Syria. Safety first.
The American regime is not the same thing as the American people. Most people realize that the American people are not free and do not support the Israeli atrocities against Muslims.
What my country (US) and the nefarious brits did to this country pisses me off.
Jesus is coming soon. Be prepared and accept his gift of eternal life through repentance and putting your faith and trust in him. God bless you all
He's on a movie set. Not in Syria. It's a lie and Sly is in on it!
🤦🏻♂️
Bro now why would you go to Syria some of these places you go to as a black man I sometimes am scared for you.
Why would you let fear control your life 🤔
Syria is a very friendly country
😂
“As a black man” lol bro please, leave the project mentally u have behind.
As a black man myself living in the USA currently, I have visited, Turkey, Yemen, Morocco, Iraq, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Jordan, and not once have I felt outright discrimination in any of those countries .. Turkey ❤️🇹🇷 is my favorite country & 2nd would be Saudi & Morocco are MY two 2nd FAVORITE countries out of them all ...
Us black men should just fly to Miami & turn up right? We should fly to places like Colombia, Thailand, and DR for prostitutes, right? some of us such as myself are Married and love discovering with our wives new places, new people & simple adventures.
That call of prayer is like listening to the devil speak 😂 just doesn’t sit right with my soul
Ok
syrians live very peacefully in their own country but 7 million syrian refugees still reject leaving turkey and going back to their country. i wonder why?

While I appreciate this view of Damascus, go just to the north and look at Homs and Hama -- destroyed by the Russians, Alowites and the Assad family. Absolutely destroyed.
Destroyed by Americans
And while he is there he should take a look at the AmeriKKKans, with the help of their ISIS buddies, looting Syrian oil.
Nah destroyed by the rebels, Al Qaeda and Daesh.
Damascus is under Assad control which is why it looks nice.
Idlib is under wahhabi rebels thats why it is a regressive shithole
Words cannot explain my disgust at your video of your walk through Damascus.
In 2024, Syria's humanitarian outlook remains bleak, with a staggering 16.7 million people now requiring humanitarian assistance - nearly three quarters of the population.
An estimated 100,000 Syrians are arbitrarily detained, forcibly disappeared, and listed as missing persons
And here you are eating snacks and strolling the streets of Damascus, home to dictator Assad, who started the Syrian civil war in March 2011 to stop the popular discontent with his dictatorial rule which triggered large-scale protests and pro-democracy rallies across Syria, as part of the wider Arab Spring protests in the region.
Imagine 16.7 million people - 75 per cent of them women and children - require assistance to survive in Syria and here you are enjoying food, drink etc in Damascus with a tour guide.
This is DISGUSTING.
The Syrian Civil War is still ongoing.
So far it has resulted in an estimated 470,000-610,000 violent deaths, making it the second deadliest conflict of the 21st century, after the Second Congo War. Nearly 400,000 Syrian civilians have lost their lives.
International organizations have accused virtually all sides involved-the Assad government, IS, opposition groups, Iran, Russia and Turkey of severe human rights violations and massacres.
The Syrian conflict has caused a major refugee crisis, with millions of Syrian people fleeing to live in refugee camps in neighboring countries such as Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, However, a sizable minority has also sought refuge in countries outside of the Middle East, with Germany alone accepting over half a million Syrians since 2011
The world is a big place.
Syria under Assad, supported by Iran and Russia, is a disgusting place and you, I think, should not be making vacation videos there whilst, as per the UN, 16.7 million people - 75 per cent of them women and children - require assistance to survive
Are you dumb? The war isnt his fault.
i got some inside info that those ''youtubers'' got payed to promote that killer regime, and thats why he need the guidance guy (which he is basically an agent boy ) thats keep an eye on him. so he cant and would never think about filming or showing the real truth or some deystroyed bulding etc...
@@rooni.7709 i hope u know that these tourists are the lifeline for dollars into syria otherwise the people here cannot survive. try to be less bigoted and think about the syrians IN SYRIA and how this might benefit them because reality is right in front of you assad isnt leaving anytime soon
Just because someone is an oppressor and holds power doesn't justify their actions or force us to accept their reality. Okay?"@@khaledddddddddd08
AmeriKKKa is stealing Syrian oil as we speak. You watch too much Western media.
