It aired on RTE2 in Ireland.
I remember here in the US, when it first aired on 1990, I watched a few seasons of it. Lost interest about 1995. But in total it aired for 9 seasons.

When I was a teenager in the early 90s, I loved "Are you Afraid of the Dark?" and the "Goosebumps!" show, even though they were technically aimed at younger kids. Please do a reaction to "Goosebumps!". I wish you could do a react to the "Goosebumps!" movie also. In the early 90s, there was still a lot of 80s fashion and other things hanging around. No, that is not Stan Lee.

Oh my God Diane!!! My favourite Canadian kids tv show!! Considering this is a channel sometimes about Ireland, one of the best Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes is Jake and the Leprechaun - yes a little cliche in the title but it's a great story. The tale of the Ghastly Grinner is great but I also like the Tale of the Night Shift

I might be wrong, but I believe they weren't really friends outside of the Midnight Society. They're all from different schools and cliques, but they come together for this one thing.

AYAotD and Goosebumps were my entire childhood! Put me in the right position to understand The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits when I was an older kid, and things like X-Files and Supernatural as an adult.

@@chadfalardeau5396 oh I saw reruns of Twilight Zone with my dad as a very young boy, but I didn't really understand the show's style until I was older and had been exposed to more "age appropriate" programs like these.

I enjoyed watching this show a little bit. But the one episode that I remember was called “The Tale of the Reanimator” when in the intro, one of the kids wanted to knock down a Hornet’s Nest thinking that there was nothing in there. But at the end, after the fire is put out, they get chased by a swarm of hornets. (Don’t try it Diane) Goosebumps would be great for you to react to around Halloween time.

As somebody who was born in 1984 in the USA and grew up watching this as a kid, I did enjoy it, but the holy grail to me of all TV and kid shows in the early 90's was Ren & Stimpy. Close runner-ups were other Nickelodeon shows Adventures Of Pete & Pete and Salute Your Shorts. I liked are You afraid of the dark but it wasn't exactly my favorite. I even liked shows like Clarissa Explains It All better than this one. Nickelodeon was a really hitting it out of the park in the early '90s. AYAOTD was apparently a Canadian show that Nickelodeon picked up for their late night Saturday lineup "SNICK".

No, that is not Stanley Martin Lieber AKA Stan Lee. He was such a nice man though... I remember meeting him at PDX and we talked for a few minutes prior to his flight to somewhere... That was the only highlight of working at an international airport.

Diane, how about showing us some of your artwork. And do you still draw or is it just something you did when you were younger?
