Hey Karen! Just wanted to say that I’ve been binge watching your videos for the past 3-4 days. I didn’t know about your channel before. I’m a brand new subscriber and a big fan ❤️😁
@@charlottebrooke2031 from me personally starting out, i would recommend some dollar store puzzles or if higher quality, then the cieco brand, though one i’ve been loving recently is D.O.W.D.L.E but idk if it’s just a brand near where i live or a national one since it’s not very popular
My boyfriend recently joked about "oh you are watching the puzzle lady again" but then get mad when I puzzled while he was already asleep because I finished "his" section :D
this was me a few weeks ago when i discovered her. I dont puzzle, i dont plan to puzzle, but im here for her amazing, positive, personality. i know when im watching her videos that i can forget about anything bothering me because our, erm her, only problem right now is solving this puzzle
Watching her do puzzles brought me back memories of doing a glow in the dark big puzzle with my dad and sister long ago. Wonder where it is. I definitely am past puzzles, but it's great to watch others do them.
I love this concept! The first thing I thought of that I would want to get is the legalization of gay marriage in America. That was a really special day for me, one of those things where I remember where I was when I found out, and opened the whole possibility of being able to marry whoever I loved.
For anyone else interested, I went and checked and you do want the day after to get the Gay Marriage legalised front page. So 27th June 2015 is the front page you'd want~
Such a good idea for NYT to add a section to their website that is a preselected ‘world events’ particularly given most world events are reported in the press the following day it would certainly encourage people to be more confident on their selection. Given the jigsaw looks such nice quality its a pity they haven’t completed the piece of the puzzle on the website with the ability to view the front pages on your selection.
Some more dates worth looking at (of course one day after the actual events!): May 22, 1927: Charles Lindbergh landed in Paris, completing the first solo airplane flight across the Atlantic Ocean. November 10, 1989: East Germany opened its frontier to the west. February 12, 1990: Nelson Mandela was released from prison after 27 years. Thank you for sharing this, Karen! I am so in love with the idea of doing a puzzle with one of these front pages. I cannot decide which one I should order but definetely will! Keep up your great work, I really enjoy all of your videos. Greetings from Germany (unfortunately not Ravensburg!)
Newspaper. I would choose September 11th 2001 or the following day and put it together as a memorial to my Brother Firefighters who gave their lives to save others.
Moon landing for sure as I am a big space nut and have models of the Apollo 11 lunar lander. Also 9-11 since I was a firefighter and was there that day
I don't have the patience to even complete a 100 piece normal puzzle, but seeing someone so passionate about their hobby and sharing everything about it just makes me so happy :')
I discovered your channel last Monday afternoon. I then spent all day Tuesday binging on your videos and bought my first jigsaw puzzle on Thursday. I finished that puzzle over the weekend and have a Ravensburger on the way. I'm officially addicted to your channel and think that I'm in love with jigsaw puzzles. Thanks, Karen! :)
If this is a puzzle you’re seriously interested in, you could always pick a date of a world-wide news headline that appeals to you! If you’re a WW1 nerd, you could find the date that the New York Times headlined the end of the war! Or if your home country held the olympics one year, you could find a headline about something happening from that olympics session!
I am currently working on a quick Galison cat zodiac puzzle that is super adorable! If I were to get a Newspaper article from NY Times, it would probably be the day LGBTQ marriage rights passed. Thinking about people getting basic human rights still gives me all the feels!!
Hello fellow Capricorn! ;) Nothing interesting on the NEWSPAPER's front page on my birthday either, but it's a good gift idea nevertheless. I'd love to put together a cover announcing the end of the COVID pandemic. Hopefully soon!
I always used to do puzzles as a kid. But along the way i somehow lost touch with it and never came back to it. Seeing you has inspired me to get back tp puzzles again. I have started with baby steps with 325 pieces puzzles and i am loving it. Lots of love ❤
Same with me but I dove right into a thousand-piece one and it is an illustration with very uneven margins, few colors...and it's driving me crazy! LOL. At the moment I am resorting to using "brute force" and trying all the possible pieces in each section until one works out...

I would love to put together the Newspaper that came out November 10, 1989, the day after the Berlin wall came down!! I was 10 years old and remember it vividly!!
So excited to watch this! I am currently puzzling my Ravensburger 1000 piece Aladdin puzzle. I specifically bought Ravensburger because of your reviews, and so far I love the quality and design 😄

The jigsaw when all the columns of texts were blanked out rectangles looked suprisingly aesthetic!! I'd love any headline that mentions my country! I doubt there'd be one though
I just finished my first ever jigsaw puzzle yesterday night/this morning. I was inspired to do it by your channel it was 300 pieces and I had a lot of fun doing the puzzle!
Thanks for the link to the newspaper's front page - it's cool to see that my country, Lithuania, was mentioned several times in 1990 and 1991 with important dates to us. :)
I have a friend who did her own NYT newspaper puzzle, and it was an older one, so much more text and fewer pictures. It took her a long time! But I think taking your time with it is part of the gift.
Just wanna say thank you for all the puzzle videos. I bought some 1000 pieces puzzles 2 years ago but never touched them and now thanks to you I found my joy for puzzle again :) doing one right now ♡ best wishes from germany
Started watching your videos since last year and now doing puzzles after many years again haha Thanks for your inspiration ✨ And because of quarantine I'm also bingewatching your videos haha Greetings from Germany ❤️
It was fun to see you assemble this New York Times jigsaw puzzle. As someone who spent many hours on a commuter train, I can say positively that the newspaper headlines ALWAYS look more interesting when I am reading them over somebody’s shoulder. Ha ha. If I were getting this puzzle for someone, I might want to select the front page from the day they turned 18, so the stories would be familiar to them. Or for a historic page, I would pick “Nixon Resigns”.
I love the moon landing idea for a gift. I have a friend who is HUGE into space discovery and whatnot, so that newspaper clipping would be super special for him!
I just found your channel a couple days ago and since then I’ve bought 2 puzzles, and a box that has 10 puzzles in it...I’ve finished two. Before I literally never did puzzles now I’m addicted lmao thanks
This is such a cool and unique gift idea! I checked the cover for my birthday, and definitely not so exciting but it would still be neat! I love that they thought of this idea - turning their newspapers into puzzles.
Well that is eerie. I just discovered your channel a few days ago and I have not watched too many of your videos yet. Of all the puzzle videos and puzzlers on youtube I too was born on December 31 1990. So happy same birthday! Keep puzzling.
I bought The Times puzzle for my sister 1955 the front page back then had the adverts births deaths and marriages line pictures on the ads no photos or headlines. She loved it kept her going for days.
I was at LSU in 2008 when the football team won the national championship. The school newspaper had a really cool cover that would be really fun as a puzzle.
I have to tell you something... a week ago I came across your channel... I don't know why but there you were. And... your videos got me back to puzzling. 😁 Today I started the last puzzle again that I didn't finish 12 years ago und had put away for good. 🙈 I just wanted to say: "Thank you, Karen." ☺️💗
I went here through Instagram and New York Times, creepily enough, advertised this ==newspaper== puzzle on my feed. I agree with you, as much as I want to complete this puzzle on my birthday, a historical newspaper would be more exciting to do!
Awesome video!! Time flies when I'm listening to you talk about puzzles... I've been working on puzzle 🧩🧩 #1 and your tips have really been helping me get through it! P.S. that newspaper 📰🗞️ puzzle is super cool!
📰 newspaper 🗞! Love you videos , I just recently found ur channel and have binge watching ur videos ! I never enjoy doing puzzles 🧩 I don’t have the patience for them but after watching ur videos I might give one a try !
I did a puzzle that's the Massachusetts subway map last month and had a pretty similar experience as your newspaper version - the text meant that I always knew which way was up, and I approached it by sorting the pieces by text size.
Now I'm tempted to get my mom this for her birthday. She and I do puzzles when we get together over the winter. Been loving your channel since it popped up on my home page last week, keep up the good work! And speaking of puzzles with mostly two-in two-out pieces, did an incredibly frustrating one the other week where almost every piece of the interior was like that and all were nearly the same dark gray/black color. It was literally just 2 hours of trial and error to finish a 500 piece puzzle.
Our birthdays are pretty close! December 19, 1990 😊 I've been binging your channel and you've inspired me to order some puzzles to do for the first time in about 3 years. I chose the mystic maze by magic puzzle company, looks like one I could be excited about throughout with all the little details on every piece. I keep obsessively checking to see if they have shipped and I cleaned the junk room to set up a table. Thats for getting me back into it!!
I love the text in the puzzle, it looks like so much fun putting the stories together (kinda like a ransom note?). If it weren't so overpriced, I would love something recent and more colourful. I doubt the solar eclipse of August 1999 made the front page on a *newspaper* on the other side of the world, but it was a huge deal in and around Romania.
August 1999 was a big thing. I went to northern France to view it. Yep, looking up the front page, august 12 1999, it has a full color picture of people wearing eclipse glasses and staring up.
A strategy I use is I put the pieces in my view the way it sees the puzzle. For example, if I’m working on my puzzle at the angle you are where it’s not facing you, but my pieces are also going that direction on the table sorted, not facing me. It helps my brain not have to work harder and also so it can’t play tricks on me. It helps me spot the unique pieces faster too. Also, I actually read the text parts. In this case I would have read the paper so that when I see a piece I may be able to read enough quickly by memory of reading it and find it’s spot easier. (This tip only works if you’ve got a preview of the finished puzzle of course) I loved this video; so satisfying!! I would buy a puzzle for the signing of the ADA, that is, if it was front cover news lol also; newspaper 🤟🧩
I just finished my first eeboo puzzle and I loved it so much 😍 it was hard to find a place that sells them here in Europe but I’m so glad I didn’t give up my search. Thank you for sharing your love with jigsaw puzzles with us, my list just keeps growing lol
Hey Karen, I find your posts so satisfying, thanks!!! I do love puzzles and have a strict regiment when doing one... How you did that puzzle sideways baffled me... Thanks for the posts and for introducing me to the better puzzle creators...
I think this is the third time I've watched this video - I'm really digging your rockin beats. In fact I enjoy your electro dance playlist on your videos a lot. Good choices Karen. I don't know if I'm alone but I could stand your puzzle videos to be a lot longer - real time even, with that backin beat. They also lend your vids an air of coolness totally lacking in any other jigsaw channel out there. Keep it up!
Happy Birthday, and thanks for your tenacity and interesting content. I’m still doing a puzzle constantly since the epidemic started, sometimes taking two days, sometimes up to a week, depending on the subject matter and number of pieces. I’ve amassed a collection of about 60 puzzles, just in case I REALLY get quarantined for a serious amount of time. Take care.
I was born on June 5th, 1956. As a former paper boy I made a lot of money delivering the New York Times Newspaper. I didn't know these puzzled existed; I may get one. I like the idea of the Birthday puzzle, but I may think about a special date in history. Cute Idea, Thanks for Sharing!!!
I had the Titanic puzzle when I was a kid - more than 50 years ago. It was really interesting to do. I read every article, every name, etc. The impact stuck with me.
That seemed so difficult! But the idea behind it it's great :D I don't know what page from a newspaper I'd like to have on a puzzle but it had to be in colour, that's for sure!
Your color shifting gradient puzzle popped up in my recommended last week and I’ve been HOOKED. I think I’ve seen all your videos 😂 You’ve even inspired me to start puzzling again! I think I might ask for this as a gift. It’s a cool concept❤️

I’ve been eager to see you do this one. Great information; I think it’s a perfect gift too. “Newspaper”
Thank you so much for sharing.
I’ve been contemplating getting one of these puzzles. After watching you, I’m definitely getting one! I’m ready to be stressed!😊Thanks for sharing!
I just finished my first eeboo puzzle and I loved it so much 😍 it was hard to find a place that sells them here in Europe but I’m so glad I didn’t give up my search. Thank you for sharing your love with jigsaw puzzles with us, my list just keeps growing lol
I will definitely want one that is in color and a happy historical event. Let the hunt begins!
Lovely Newspaper.
Also, I’d like a Princess Diana themed Puzzle.
Keep it up!
Thanks for the two newspaper links. This will be a fun exploration!
Take care.
I so wanna do this puzzle for my birthday. What a cool idea !!!! Thanks for sharing
Newspaper - loved this puzzle, thought a colour one would be better though...thanks for another fab video Karen!
How did I not know about this channel yet?
P.S. Did you notice John mentioned it in the latest vlogbrothers video?

Jigsaw puzzles are literally getting me through lockdown in Bonnie Scotland ❤️. Your channel is fab Karen. Take care everyone
Is it just me?? I fr always just find NEWSPAPERS so nice to look at and I’m so happy that these puzzles exist lol
Karen thank you so much for this video! I received my birthday NY Times puzzle today. Your strategies will be valuable in putting my puzzle together.
this is more important than my homework
also i'm so glad i got into your channel, i like puzzles much more than before now!

I didn't even know they made these!!
So cool! I'm going to get one for my mom who loves puzzling :)
Happy 100th video 😀 I think it's interesting that your topic was about newspaper-worthy milestones, right as you hit one!
The day the pandemic is officially over would be a nice one
Haha we have to wait for that date to order the puzzle 😅
@@GermaicanExperience I suppose so
It’s not gonna be over a specific date, it’s just gonna fizzle out sloooowly...
That seemed so difficult! But the idea behind it it's great :D
I don't know what page from a newspaper I'd like to have on a puzzle but it had to be in colour, that's for sure!
Another great video from Karen Puzzles. They brighten up my day!!
Your color shifting gradient puzzle popped up in my recommended last week and I’ve been HOOKED. I think I’ve seen all your videos 😂
You’ve even inspired me to start puzzling again! I think I might ask for this as a gift. It’s a cool concept❤️
