46:30 ''People of the book''. But the women have to practice her religion and not be a Jew or Christian by name only. Sadly today most Muslim men marry women who don't follow any religion and that's not allowed.

Poor Amir has had to caveat everything; I think it’s important for people to be lenient when it comes to freely speaking conversations, if it’s not scripted then it’s not like you’d have thought of your word choice behind it. Better to understand the reasonably concluded intent of a statement than get hung up on one word. I’ve had people nitpick my word choice so much so I find it discouraging to even talk after that
Also why it’s good on y’all for looking at the entire section of the podcast clip you were commenting on to understand the context esp. In regard to the other people present.
re: their clip, the person who brings up a claim is the one responsible to defend it - & if they don’t have a statement from trusted chains back to the time of the early Muslims.. that says enough about the validity of their statement
This is something that needs longer conversation though

Part of conversion to Islam is converting and aligning all of your major and minor beliefs to be in line with the Quran and Sunnah. 100% there will be a lot of red pill ideologies Sneako and reverts like him will have to break down as they continue to grow their faith. May Allah make it easy for him and all of our reverts.
However it is absolutely the duty of the Muslim to correct incorrect misunderstandings of the deen especially ones that can so negatively affect the audience who's unfortunate enough to hear what Sneako said. (I got so mad too Sarah and literally lost brain cells listening to him.) Someone can say something wrong on your platform sure, but you now releasing that opinion into the world without correcting it, multiplies the damage and your hand in that so much. Definitely the men on that podcast should've checked Sneako and informed him on our tradition.
Muslim men are allowed to marry practicing people of the book, and Allah is the most just and most wise and made these rules for our own good. But just from my experience, I have seen that women tend to be more open to the religious beliefs of their partner and not as much vice versa. (Have a few sad stories on this.) That might be a wisdom on why that's allowed.
However we know Asiya ra as one of the women the Prophet saw told us perfected her faith. She was married to maybe the worst man humanity has ever seen. In the end he mut*lated and k*lled her for her faith. Women only become Muslim for a man is actually an insane assertion to just let float around the internet. Red pill, alpha male ideology doesnt not have a place in our religion which emphacizes gentleness and justice. And I do hope the men of knowledge who were on there do take accountability for that.

I live in the UK and brother mohammed hijab and brother Ali dawah are very well known in the muslim community as Da3ees in the UK. they have done a lot of great work in the UK defending islam against new-age atheists who are extremely Islamophobic and have a weird obsession with the Muslim community in the UK, christian islamophobes and many enemies of islam who constantly attack our deen. May Allah reward them both . I can understand sometimes their method of dawah is not palatable to all muslims but in my opinion i think there doing a good job in defending and representing islam as well as conveying islam to people who don't know anything about islam and might want to know more if that makes sense.
