  • It's been a long and intense journey, but this Tiger project has come to an end!
The previous two weathering episodes gave me a few ideas on how to improve the mud texture on the hull, so I went over it once again with my new enamel mud mixture.
I also couldn't miss the opportunity to use the dirty water mixture which I first used on the Rutscher a few months back.
In case you're wondering why there's no smoke residue or soot at the end of the big KwK 36, it's because Germans used smoke-less gunpowder :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed this project. I've been modeling close to 60 years and this is one of the finest depictions of a Tiger that I have seen. All of the techniques you used were explained quite well. The benefit for all of us is; they are techniques any of us can use. No high dollar stuff. Just an investment of time and patience. Well done, sir!

I'm 67 and started modeling at 7 when texture products didn't exist, acrylics didn't exist, and only pro artists used airbrushes on cars and surfboards. All we had was Testor's enamel and paint brushes- if you wanted to do special effects you had to get really creative and that meant making some spectacular messes like grinding up real rust to apply with clear flat paint. It gets easier to get neater, is all. Don't sweat it, it comes slowly but naturally.

I could go on and on and on about how outright AMAZING your work and this model turned out! I've watched through the entire series on this Tiger and I am just blown away! The authenticity and detail is just astounding, I'm sure this model could be dropped into a movie scene and you could get as close as you wanted and I would challenge anyone to distinguish this from a real tank. Looking at your finished photos it is nearly impossible to get my brain to register that this is actually made of plastic, it's very hard to believe. Absolutely beautiful work! Keep 'em coming!

Your tips saved a previous build of a KV-1 I started in 2018 and finished a year later (first time building for about 20 or so years at the time) as I went back to it and applied the things you showed and the improvements were night and day in comparison.

Watching your videos inspired me to build armor. I’m half way through an AAVP-7A1 and just ordered this same Tiger Kit. It won’t like nearly as awesome as yours, but I plan to watch this series again as I go, and hope to attain at least 25% of the look of your efforts.

I'm following a LOT of scale modelling channels here on UA-cam and they are all (with some exceptions...) good craftsmen/women but you stand out of that crowd by far!! Your way of building is so innovative and creative!! You invent your own stuff and follow no rules (if there are any..) and always end up with magnificent results. Whenever I watch some other channel I expect more or less the same effort and build quality as your builds but it mostly ends with spraying and some light, out-of-the-box weathering...and I click away..guess you spoiled me!!

Watching this, I have to go back to see a lot more. I took a break to build a 31" 20,000 Leagues Nautilus resin model, the first model I've done in ten years. Now done, I almost want to buy another to do it completely differently. I've begun to realize that taking photos helps a great deal in catching areas I missed, based on the not too hot lighting I had building the sub. But these videos of yours and others helped me raise my game. And also not do what everybody else does with the sub...to add rust to it. I went much more for a Statue of Liberty surface. You may be done with this, but I would think there is a problem in displaying these because none get to stand out separately. One tank on a small table in a living room would draw a lot of attention.

A stunning conclusion!!! I love that you did what you could with the pattern within the realm of how you believed the actual colors looked given all the information at hand. Is it "ugly"? Sure. But it was a real vehicle and an incredibly unique, late war example of German desperation that tells a great story of without the need for figures or a background setting. Is the next one the 1/48 Tamiya M1 Abrams? I'll have to crank out my post build review of that one before next Friday!! 🤣
