Something interesting to note about Raging Brachydios' theme is that it only plays in the final phase of the fight after you've chased it down to its nest where it makes its last stand so you were pretty spot on when you mentioned that it evokes a feeling of desperation and fear.
No way Canta is here
its kill or die
I was thinking the same thing.
Sup Canta, also yeah is pretty much Raging is going through a EXTREME adrenaline. The beat of the music like that of a heart racing, as if it was about to erupt. Fitting for the apex of the volcano regions.
Oh Canta !
In a world with fire breathing T rexs with a sword for a tail, wolves that can summon lightning, and dragons with jet engines for wings, Brachydios is quite unique as all it does is spit on its fists and tell you “Square up, bitch.”
I like that, couldn't describe brachy boi any better
The only brute wyvern who knows what arms actually can do.
@jamesproctor4568 to be fair most brutes have near useless sized arms expect barroth and his sub
@@jamesproctor4568 What's an arm? - Raiden, probably
@@YAH93 Raiden very well knows what an arm is, given how many he's lost.
So quick context to the uninitiated:
Raging Brachydios initially starts the hunt with the normal Brachydios music. But nearing the end of the hunt, when a typical monster is visibly limping away and then sleeping at its nest, Raging Brachydios instead waits for hunters at the final area. There, it would then rapidly punch the ground to inject all of its explosive slime into the area, finishing with an explosive ground slam and so starting this track.
The result of this action, as well as changing the dynamics of the fight, is the area being locked, preventing hunters from escaping (even using the emergency escape item, the Farcaster). Traps also fail to work here - from now on, either the Raging Brachydios dies, or its 'Quest Failed'.
that also explains the desperation Marco interpreted into a bit of the song since Raging Brach probably would feel cornered at that point. Just to add to this amazing comment!
Ragin brachy really said "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with ME."
The message is clear:
"there's only a way out, and is in a closed casket"
Heck yeah, "Death or the gladioli!" as we say in the Netherlands.
something funny is that when raging brachy came out in world you could actually use traps and capture him but it would result in a quest fail they eventually patched it though
for this episode of kit's monster lore:
Raging brachydios is what you get when a brachydios survives to an exceptional age and grows to be giant.
This triggers the development of an organ inside the monster called the Immortal Reactor (incredible naming btw I love it), which basically allows it to render the explosive green slime mold the species forms symbiosis with even more volatile, leaving it permanently yellow to red and allowing the monster to change how the slime acts at will.
The heat from this slime tempers brachydios' vibrant blue shell to become even more tough than before, and its colour changes from a vibrant blue to a deep and dark green.
TLDR: Raging Brachy is the pinnacle of brute wyverns and iceborne turned a cool concept from 4u into a masterpiece.
Everything cool about the explosive boxing dinosaur multiplied by 10 bazillion
A sight correction. The slime on raging is a new slime mold called "flashpoint slime" which forms after the normal slime instead of exploding seeps into the ground and after time passes becomes more volatile. The way a bracky gets this new slime is by seeking it out after earthquakes and what not (which push the slime back on the surface) for mating reasons
The problem being its so volatile only the strongest bracky can survive using it hence why ragings are so big
It's also the new slime that develops the immortal reactor
That’s cool, I know slime molds are already cool as is but an exploding slime mold is even cooler.
I am curious what benefit does the slime mold gain from the brachydios? I wonder if it’s more of a commensalistic relationship or a mutualistic one.
Like maybe the brachydios has a byproduct that the slime mold benefits from or maybe being on the brachydios is part of the slime molds reproduction process. like maybe the living or feeding areas of the brachydios is also a suitable for the slime mold to develop and propagate.
I always love thinking about speculative biology stuff like this.
@@sirshotty7689 If you enjoy speculative biology and Monster Hunter, there's a handful of channels that go in for exactly that. I'd recommend starting with a youtuber called Oceaniz. They even made one for Brachydios.
@@Krescentwolf On that note, I’d equally recommend Unnatural History Channel if you can stomach some favorites getting dissed every now and then xD

9:27 Damn, you're SPOT ON with your analysis. This track specifically plays during raging brachy's second phase, in which it locks both you and itself in a room and literally forces you into a duel to the death. Desperation is the perfect word for it.
Brachydios is one of my favorite monsters because he fights like a boxer. He will really feint, counterpunch you, and straight side step your attacks sometimes. It's just cool how they were able to make a monster like that.
Brachy is the boxer, and Rajang and the Gougarf duo are the wrestlers
mike tyson vs brachy who will win?
@@Teddyponsel2626 Unless Mike decides C4 is a reasonable part of his diet, Brachydios is a pretty comfortable win.

Wow, thank you!
I think the official name for this theme is “Brave Icon” which is really fitting. Perfect theme for fist-fighting a dinosaur. And it's a real "Monster Hunter" theme, in the sense that it's not just a big scary monster theme. It's HEROIC, as if you were fighting a great hero.
I thought it was "Brutish Indigo" which is also quite fitting.
@@saurianfan7102 that is what it actually is yeah
@@oeeo6thealatreon118 It's actually both lol
@@outofmyriver7346 the game calls it brutish indigo, and no where have I ever heard it be called “brave icon”, is there somewhere where it’s called this instead of it just being called brutish indigo?
@@oeeo6thealatreon118 Brave Icon, while not from the games, is the way the official orchestra calls it, and has been titled.
-Brachydios does in fact attack with its entire body.
-It has its hands and head shaped like missiles/torpedoes, and the green slime is quite literally napalm. Brachydios’ saliva reacts violently with this slime mold, causing it to heat rapidly and explode.
-Raging Brachydios has a stronger variant of this slime, which is so incredibly volatile that it’s been dubbed “Flashpoint Slime”. Raging is also much larger and has tougher armor plating to compensate for using such a high-yield explosive.
-At the last phase, when Raging’s theme comes out, it traps everyone in a volcanic area by blasting the rock wall to smithereens. While it spreads more slime and attacks more viciously, this also weakens its armor, making it susceptible to its own explosives. There’s no leaving the area. It’s kill or be killed; a literal life-or-death gamble from a cornered animal.
YES! One of my favorite monsters in Monster Hunter!
Edit: Vocals are only reserved for Elder Dragons of extreme power, the fact Raging Brachydios, who isn’t an elder dragon, has them gave him extreme respect, and not only that, this songs vocals are sung in the language of the First Wyverians
The final phase of this fight is also a major “I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me.”
But why is his final phase so much easier?
@@sephiro2063 in his final phase, brachy actually hurts himself with his explosions aswel
And then you have Fatalis, whose theme is basically nothing BUT apocalyptic operatic chanting interspersed with Proof of a Hero fighting to get out.
Kokoto also gets vocals. Maybe it's because the gen 1 weaponsmith's prices are so outrageous they might as well be an elder dragon.
I'm fairly certain that the motif at 2:13 is a callback to the main theme of Monster Hunter Tri, which is where Brachydios debuted. As someone who started with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (the 3DS installment of Tri), I absolutely lost it when I heard that motif again in World. Hella impactful
It kind of sounds like it but it doesn’t seem to be as obvious as the same motif from Deviljho or Alatreon’s themes so I’m a bit sceptical
Brachydios actually first appeared in 3U. It's the flagship for 3 Ultimate and appears on the Wii U and 3DS boxart for some countries.
Brachydios wasn’t in Tri. 3 Ultimate was basically MH Tri 2.0, but they are separate games. Ultimate had a lot more content.
@@ZZMonkeysUncleZZ huh not lagiacrus?
@@shutup1037 Lagiacrus was the flagsjip for Tri. Brachy was for 3 Ultimate and Zinogre was Portable 3rd.
Ah, my achy brachy heart. The one word I would use to describe both him and his theme is 'punchy'. Once you fight him, you will know why his music is so frantic: It's you, scrambling for your life. The whole. time. through. He quite literally throws himself at you with everything he's got. For how big and heavy he looks, he's surpisingly fast and agile!
Raging Brachy literally locks you in a room with him at the end of the fight and then it's just a question of who will go down and stay down first, you or him.
6:35
To me, Marco's face here, not even 3 seconds into raging's theme, is just like "oh, that's how it's different."
"How could it be any different?" Immediately turns into Dark Souls boss music. I love Brachy's theme, and Raging definitely has to be one of my favorites. It's just so NOT subtle. I especially like the last bit for both of them.
BRACHY BOY!! Glad you’re doing his incredible music!! So powerful and bombastic tone!
And the final phase of Raging!! It’s one of the most “ITS YOU OR ME, HUNTER!! BRING IT OOOON!!!!” moments I’ve ever had!!
Raging brachy is just so proud he literally cannot allow himself to be captured. Rather dying in the midst of his own explosions than to be taken and killed by the hunters. That why he's one of the best monsters in monster hunter hands down
Fun fact: raging Brachydios is biologically immortal, it won't die from old age.
Biologically yes.....But not he can die frop NATURAL cause with big longsword tearing him apart when he nuke the place every 2 minute
Interesting that you say that theres a sense of desperation from the monsters side, this theme actually takes place during the final phase of the fight, where Brachydios actually makes its last stand against us, the hunters.
Firstly he does a pretty cool animation that I wont spoil, but then after that he creates an arena, where hunters may enter, but cannot escape. He sort of creates a "last stand" for himself. It gives the vibe of "one shall stand, one shall fall"
I've been waiting for you to go over these themes. This is one of my favorite fights paired with some of the most jaw-dropping music in the game. It's so intense and it's such a beautiful and powerful fight.
Also, with Raging Brachydios, there's no real way to understand the spectacle of the fight without watching it. His theme and the fight is easily the most intense in MHW. You're blocked off from the outside world. The only way to leave his arena once the fight starts is to faint. It's very much a "You or Me" fight
Claim your "Here before RageGamingVideos" ticket here. Seriously the lad Josh has a 7th sense for all things Brachydios so don't be surprised if he shows up & proclaims love & glory for the best boi Brachy 😂
Lore wise, 1 out of a number of Brachydios can handle a more volatile slime substance (8:10 thank you editor) that would otherwise prove too deadly to wield for the other Brachys, hence they ascend in power & size, becoming Raging Brachydios. The Raging Brachy theme plays when he is under a certain amount of HP & retreats to a volcanic zone in the Guiding Lands. At that point its practically a death battle between you & Brachy. The music does amazing encapsulating the ecology & combat of Raging Brachy, which is very impressive for a variant whose strength is on par with something like an Elder Dragon
I swear josh can smell Brachydios content even before its uploaded
for real I'm surprised he's not here already
I know right? Where is he?
Hate that guy
Claimed
Best "cornered, but ready to die and take you with it" theme I've ever heard...
OH MY GOD Raging Brachy is such an amazing fight. an absolute titanic beast that beats you down every second, so much faster than should be possible for how large he is
Nothing will get my heart pumping more then being on the final phase of raging bracydios with one cart left, doing all that the team can in a confined area to fight for one's life
Raging Brachy is one of my favorite fights because of its final phase. Getting the normal Brachy theme the whole fight than hearing these cacophonous chants as it locks all the exits behind you and ignites the arena in surging magma so you cant place traps to capture him, a true fight to the death. It's an amazing feeling.
So glad you’re finally reacting to this theme, it’s my favorite from MH! If you haven’t already I’d also recommend Disufiroa’s theme, it has 3 phases and each one gets better and better!
Aw yes better alatreon
Another amazing Marco music analysis to add to my collection 😌 Whoever's editing this video did an amazing job !
Love that you covered the theme of my all-time favorite monster! Love my blue, punchy boy :D
Now, I don't care if you don't do a vid of it, but I HIGHLY recommend the jazz version of the brachydios theme to listen to, they made a whole jazz MH album a while back, and that track was a fan favorite.
His original theme was called Brave Icon: Brachydios in MH3U. His World theme is Brutish Indigo, which I think is a much cooler name for my beloved favorite monster, even if I prefer the melodic consistency of his original theme. By the way, the bits you're referring to on his head and arms are his "pounders". That's where his name comes from, Brachy from Brachium meaning "arm". Also, the lovely blue sheen of his hide comes from obsidian! He protects himself with volcanic glass!
You finally did it! I was waiting for this.
Everytime I listen to Brachy´s theme the main melody feels like I´m fist fighting in my mind. These short harshly played strings really well incorporate the style of Brachydios.
Thank you Marco, always appreciate the high quality content and breakdowns.
I appreciate that!
Yes! Thank you for doing this! Brachydios is my fav monster in the series and you perfect describe is menacing attacks with its song.
Nice analyse as always you really catch the vibes throught your description!
I have to admit brachy and raging brachy are my favorite monster. Their music are really punchy! You feel like it s a hand to hand combat were both of you will strike back harder every time you land a hit.
And the raging theme as said by everyone in the last phase. I see it as if the raging brachy says " You really think I ll give up that easely, come and get me!"
Oh YES! Been looking forward to you reviewing Brachydios and Raging Brachydios :D
I'm thrilled you did this, I love bracy and his theme. Admittedly more than I should
I have been waiting for this video since you dropped fatalis reaction.
this theme slaps beyond reason. world has been a few years by now, and first listening to this again back a few days ago legitimately made me tear up a bit.
i wanna replay this game so bad, i'm literally about to buy it again on the current gen xbox.
So: I see my MH brethren are generously laying down the details of one of my favorite monsters to fight (and acquire armor and weapons from) in the entire franchise. Love you guys. Also I love that you nailed the tone and connotations of the music SO HARD, you legit made the sound of what Brachydios sounds like when he seethes! 😂 Good on you! Allow me to make some connections from the instrumental side...
Brachydios:
His design is a cross between a delinquent bancho [complete with pompadour], a lightweight championship boxer, some dinosaur (iguanadon? i can't even hazard a guess!) and the C4 gels. He's a scrappy bastard that will pick fights with anyone that eyeballs him funny and make that EVERYONE'S problem. 😂 I feel like the opening of the music captures a bit of that the way you'd be introduced to a delinquent gang in an anime. 🤣
You are correct about the heft of the music mirroring that of the monster. I'm surprised you didn't pick up on the significance of bells/xylophone/marimba/piano: for such a large monster, he is INCREDIBLY light on his feet. He truly embodies "float like a butterfly, sting like a pile-driver." [He literally uses a Pounder to pivot on a dime, which I think is so frickin COOL, but is SO annoying to fight] [The larger mallets hitting the bells (pipe-like bells?) are reminiscent of the slime blowing up around (or on) you in rapid succession, which happens ALOT] No matter where you are in the area, YOU ARE NOT SAFE. He can and WILL jump the entirety of the area *just* to dive YOU for trying to camp. Zero wallflowers in his houseparties, lol. The music is driving, but has a steady rhythm, much like how fighting him becomes like a dance once you understand the steps. I don't know about most, but barchydios taught me to clean up my footwork moving forward with the monsters to come.
Raging Brachydios:
Others have already explained the backstory of this big bastard, so I'll highlight some other things... Area 15...(🤬) The music shifts from the predictable rhythmic patterns, to time/rhythm changes in the middle of the song, implying a wilder, more unhinged moveset that often trips hunters up (to death). He forces you into a cage deathmatch. I believe in the original iteration of Raging Brachydios, he's raging because he's actively *dying.* The mold has grown to much even for him, and EVERYTHING will pay for that sin. Even through all this, he makes a Last Stand against the hunter... He goes to his nest, not to rest, for there is no rest in his state. He waits, HE hunts, as hunters have done to him before. He DARES you to take him. There a kind of honor in his actions, to the point the "gods" of that world bestow him a chorus to match his unyielding, Immortal heart... and his undying, unforgiving RAGE.
Edits:
1) His "hands" are called "Pounders" or "Obliterators" (regular and raging, respectively)
2) Stuf inside [_]s
3) Raging: something to keep in mind (especially for unwitting or unflappable hunters that don't restock before entering Area 15... You have a set amount of healing items you can carry, and probably used quite a few before entering. You cannot leave by anything less than fainting once he destroys the exits (epic cutscene btw). During the music's chromatic progressions, it engenders feelings of desperation for ALL involved: the dying Brachydios with nothing left to lose, and you, the hunter, surrounded by increasing numbers of burning bomb patches, and dwindling health items in your pouch. :3
4) You nailed the "conscious knowledge of impending death" as it relates to Brachydios. Well done! I explained it previously, but wanted to shout this bit of insight on your part. There is an intelligence some of these monsters exude (especially the ones that are difficult to trap, or can't be) that becomes clearer as they age. Raging Brachydios, Scarface Yian Garuga, Lucid Narcacuga, Bloodbath Diablos and the like... they see, they know, they've experienced, they learned, and they HATE hunters, *specifically.* Raging literally decides to go down swinging, and he has my absolute respect for that.
Your assumption was spot on as in the last phase of his fight he will wait for the player in his nesting area and when the player goes in he will start beating into a rock wall until Brachydios finally snaps and covers the area with slime. In this phase his slime will only explode on Brachydios command as well as this his slime will burn the player instead of exploding over time and will do damage to Brachydios this results in one of the most intense finale phases as you cannot exit the room, this leaves you with 2 option being kill Brachydios or be killed by Brachydios. A perfect example of a final gamble from a cornered animal.
¡I'm not stuck with you, you're stuck with me!
-Brachydios
The chorus for the raging brachy fight doesn’t kick in until you are in the final zone of the fight and he punches the ground and locks you into the zone, the fight isn’t over unless you kill him or feint. There’s no running away so that feeling of DESPERATION is on point! It’s awesome to see that observation just from listening to the music and not having played the fight.
Let's gooooo! Another monster hunter banger covered lovely vid as always
I wonder what it feels like from the musicians perspective who actually make these powerful pieces. Do they also feel the intensity and power? Does it make them feel like a badass when performing these pieces?
Almost certainly
seeing Marco, while not playing the game, still enjoying and understanding the feeling that the fight against Brachy gives brings me much joy, keep up the good work fam
Reminder that Raging Brachydios is literally *killing* itself to get you. It takes low, but constant damage throughout the fight. It's usually greenish skin turns black, with smoke pouring off of it's body, as if it's been covered in heat marks. The normally very visible slime has toned back, only to pour off as an absurdly hot fluid on the ground. The slime has gotten so hot, so volatile it's cooking Brachydios during the entire process. At it's climax, Brachydios' own ear piercing scream causes all of the pooled slime to explode the room. And all of it just to kill YOU.
What I personally love about brachydios is how even though he’s a brute it’s theme also gives hints to how much thought goes in he’s movement like how sometimes he pivot punches the ground to get out of the hunters vision. PS brachydios is a terrifying fact for the first time specially for slow weapons 😂
Our team was a hammer longsword and me on lance my guy I was absolutely terrified
Brachy is one of my favourites so hearing you deconstruct his theme was cool. Would love to see you have a listen to Nergigante's theme as there is so much packed into that song

Raging brachydios encapsulates the saying " Im not stuck in here eith you, you're stuck in here with me!"

Raging Brachys theme is just so fitting was exited for your reaction Thanks for checking it out
Raging Brachydios theme is pretty damn epic in the final stage of it given it only plays once it becomes a battle to the death since Raging can't be trapped and you can't get out of its lair.
Raging Brachy might be my favorite theme in the game. Its just so intense and dynamic. And like some other people have said this version kicks in when its second phase time and Brachy creates a pit where its you or him 1 has to die (you cant even run). The mood and theming is so good but also at a simple level its such a damn cool track when this giant thing is trying to crush you
Marco, wanted to ask: have you already listened to Bedman?'s theme from Guilty Gear Strive called "The Circle"? It's so good, I listen to it 24/7 rn. Can't wait for your breakdown/reaction!
Here's a fun tidbit, the part at 2:15 is a callback or a leitmotif (idk the name) to the monster hunter 3 ultimate theme, which is the game where brachydios first appeared.
Finally! I've been waiting for this!
I really recommend you also give Vaal Hazak's theme a look, its called Keeper of Hades and I really like it :D
The "You will not take me!" couldnt be more on spot. What makes the music so great for the fight is the fact that first he traps you in his nest with him and no one leaves. And the other part which fits so great in how you described it is the fact that Raging Brachy is I think the only (correct me if i am wrong) monster in the game that activily harms himself to take you down. Alone this makes the fight so much more personal in my eyes.

Hit the nail on the head when you mentioned desperation, when the raging brachydios is dying he lures you to the final location and when you( the player) arrives at the final area he seals you in there with him, it is the final stand, raging brachydios is basically saying" only one of us getting out of here alive" its truly an intense fight that really pushes you to your maximum capabilities.

wow you were spot on for the feeling of fear and desperation, the raging brachidios theme start at the final phase of the hunt where it lock donw the area for it and the hunter, the only way out is death. This part is literally a Final standing, a death match and the brachy knows it cause it use an attack it doesn't use in other area which explode all the slimy substance it drop during its other move and it inflict damage to the hunter but also to the brachy it's literally a desperate move to try to kill the hunter before the hunter kills it
One of the top GOATs of this series!
Brachydios has got to be my favourite monster from the game both because of his theme and his character.
Raging brachy is the monster my cousin and I struggled with together and overcame together, I still remember that epic hunt. Miss ya bro
You REALLY have to check out Shantiens theme especially phase 4 but I suggest you listen to all 4 of her themes, it really conveys how epic and climactic this fight gets from finding her to her killing herself by trying to surpass the natural borders before black dragon tier is reached! It’s honestly up there as one of the best themes monster hunter has ever brought out. So it’s a very strong recommendation from me.👍
He has already come across phase 4 in a livestream at least. Whether or not he does a video on it is up to him.
As many people stated already Brachydios and Raging Brachy are exactly as you described it as it does use it's entire body to attack, although compared to the other brute wyvern it's arms are extremely well developed looking like boxing gloves and has a obsidian shelling over his entire body that can endure explosion cause by a slime that it has a symbiosis with although this is just the regular brachydios.
For Raging brachydios however it is very much bigger in size then a regular brachy and has a symbiosis with a more powerful version of this slime which causes many brachydios to die when trying to symbios with it only the strongest Brachydios can survive the encounter with that type of slime growing bigger in size and have a tougher shelling.
If I'm not mistaken this slime for Raging brachydios is so powerful that it actually hurts them, giving them the name "Raging" when using it although i might be wrong on that
One last thing is in the Raging brachydios fight, Brachy actually locks your hunter in a room with it and the only way to get out is by killing it or dying, it's like it makes an arena for you and it for a fight to the death when you reach the final phase which ties in with the "Desperation" you we're talking about! For the "fear of death" i would say maybe it's because it took Brachydios everything it has to survive making a symbiosis with that new type of slime so dying here would make the suffering it went through for nothing? Idk 🤣 just a thought
the best part in this song (raging brachydios) is when you mount him, the song focus more on the percution, this fight is a real nightmare!
Ah yes, the JoJo of monster hunter. As always your analysis are spot on.

The green stuff is called Explosive Slime Mold and they multiply like crazy (the slime mold) but as it multiplies it starts to heat up and eventually it will start to glow red and then EXPLODE!
And the Brachydios coats it’s fists in its spit and it’s spit contains a special protein that stops the moltiplation of the slime mold and it hide is completely blast proof if it punched the ground and the slime mold were to explode
Pretty spot on with the description, as most other comments are saying, it is desperate and by the end, your right, it is saying "you will not take me" because its final stand is him basically going nuclear, Raging Brachy is basically a walking reactor, and hes willing to ignite all his gel at once and blow himself up just to take you down
For me Raging Brachy theme takes first place from every MH game and it pairs really well with his attacks and movement.
Fun fact the chorus only happens in the fight at the last stage when he traps the player in a room and its suddenly kill or be killed.
One of the coolest fights in all of MH.
Love ur vids keep it up👍
"And a pair o' guns that'll make even the chef jealous"
Brachydios is part of a group of monsters that are designated as Brute Wyverns. Brachydios has a symbiotic relationship with a species of slime that explodes to reproduce, it's shell is so durable that it can tank the explosions without problem. Brachydios also has a unique component in it's saliva, it's saliva prevents the slime from activating on it's body and it also helps it grow a lot faster than normal. Once the Brachydios punches something, it's victim will now have a live sticky explosive attached to it's body. It's like getting punched by a steel pilar, but then the pillar also leaves a live grenade in your pocket.
Raging Brachydios is a member of a group of monsters classified as Variants. A variant is an member of a species that undergoes a mutation that changes their appereance, temperament and power level, any monster can become a variant since it normally is a normal stage of their development.
Raging Brachydios is an older member of the species that traveled far to find a different type of slime, the flashpoint slime or super slime. If the Brachydios manages to bond woth this new slime it will start undergoing some changes to it's body. It will become MUCH bigger, it's shell will harden EVEN MORE and will also turn green, the slime is so potent that it will also grow on it's tail. But that's not all, the flash point slime also produces stem cells, wich are then travel to an organ called " The Inmortal Reactor" wich basically means that the Raging Brachydios will never die of old age. If a Raging Brachydios suffers wnough damage and stress, it will go into a blind rage, it will begind to punch the ground with so much force and anger that it will cause the any nearby exit to close up. Once it enters this stage it's slime and shell will start steaming, it's slime can no longer stay attached for long and it falls of easily from the shell, but it also will no longer blow up like normal, the slime will reach temperatures so high that it is basically living lava. Raging Brachydio's shell will turn darker due to the heat, rage, and stress, and it will beging to spread the slime to every inch and corner of the battlefield, it's roars are so powerful that it's piercing high pitch sound can ignite the slime with so much intensity that it will now also start getting hurt by it's own explotions. It will not stop until one of you is dead.
A real felling of desperation, my man that feeling i can assure you it's coming from the hunter. It's a feeling of "i have to put him 6 feet under before he does" because if you let him any breathing room he's going to cover the room with explosive slime and you are dead
Marco meatball 2023: let’s listen to raging Brachydios how could it be any different (basically gets jumpscared by the intro of the song)
Ah brachy. That thing kicked my ass something fierce and I never quite got the hang of him in world. His theme is absolutely incredible though.
His gimmick is explosive slime, the green stuff on his fists and horn. He leaves it absolutely everywhere including you the player. He also REALLY likes punching things.
From the music though I almost have to respect him even more. It's more than desperate, it almost speaks to a sort of intelligence too.
oh my god thank you for listening to this!!!!
Edit: I honestly always loved monster hunter music, I don't think there's a single track in any of the games i've played that i've listened to and not enjoyed - the music matches the locations or monsters so well, for example Astalos' them (Big electric bug) uses an electric guitar well in a way that matches the monster, as you said, brachydios uses percussion and mallet based instruments to sound like it's impacting, and a fun fact is that ONLY elder dragons get chorus - something that Raging Brachydios quite evidently breaks, which makes him feel all the more threatening, as it suggests he's as strong as an elder dragon without being one. Though, this rule was broken in Monster Hunter: Rise because a large part of the style of music uses vocals so everything in that game has some aspect of vocal choruses.
Another monster (i'd suggest you'd give it a listen in your free time rather than make a video) is Narkarkos, it's theme is... well, it's phase one theme is barely music, it IS musical but it's much more... atmospheric, very slow, very extended notes with ominous slow chanting in the background than melody in a way that is distinctly unlike any other monster, as is the beast you face - a mound of bone in the ground with two giant skeletal heads bearing down from above, their movements awkward and unrefined as if they're not actually alive at all - and another favourite of mine, Rajang - the theme just screams monke, and i like monke.
it's things like this, little details, little bits in the music that clearly make each track DISTINCTIVELY personal for each one of the monsters it represents, in the way you can hear it and go "Oh i know who this is!" because it has an element of THEM in it.
Keep up the awesome videos, it's always a pleasure to see you
I was out of breathing by releasening to this song, this remember me of the intense fight when I met his rage for the first time.
Y'all need to start sending this man the originals of these themes.
this is actually a rework of his theme from Monster Hunter 4 which was his first appearence title. Not having the PC to actually play MhWorld i have never been able to listen to this and oh God it slaps!!!! The first version of his theme was already in my top 3 of Mh theme but this...also it would be nice if you listen to his OG theme and see the evolution when comparing to this one.
Ah Brachydios. My first actual wall in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and my #1 favorite brute wyvern in the whole franchise. All that aggression and explosive power can be felt in its music as well as the fight itself. Like you are fighting a boxer in the form of our obsidian bomb. This analysis is spot on, but I would recommend listening to these two after listening to the original. My boi got such a flow up in World in terms of the fight and music.
Brachydios' theme song is just so epic. I pick a fight with them if I see them on the side, in a hunt for other monsters - I'll go pick a fight with it just so it's theme song starts. Then, I get pumped up and = win. Most epic song - freakin' love it. The entire thing is a buildup - and the climax is just so worth it. It seriously pumps me up, and yes, it IS heroic. This song encapsulates all the things that I love about the game, actually.
I really wish they'd put Raging Brachy on streaming or somewhere to buy, I can't find a high quality audio anywhere
