It is standard practice for representation to request that they collect, sign and deposit your earnings into their account. This will ensure they collect their fee before you collect yours and “accidentally” forget to pay them lol. How to prevent bad practices:
✨Vet the business. Ensure they are a registered business in somewhere in the U.S.;
✨Research if they are a #sagaftra franchise agent or manager. This will provide credibility to their work and ethical practices; and
✨Ask about accounting practices and escrow accounts. You want to ensure they keep their personal funds separate from client funds (i.e. your funds).
