bought the Definitive version on Steam a week ago and put 45 hours into it. So good. it's a big plus for the Asian community, esp Chinese. I was pretty sad to learn that the sequel was cancelled. Really hope another worthy studio picks up where they left off because it was a great story. it'll be hard to live up to because United Front is based in Vancouver where there's a big Cantonese speaking community so it's very fitting that they made the game.
Square Enix literally never sells enough for any game. They set their expectations way too fucking high. Look at the recent Hitman and Deus Ex Mankind Divided both being put on hold despite selling respectably and being critically praised. Nice one.
That's the ultimate Sleeping Dogs experience. Dogeyes was an asshole who deserved to die, but no one deserves the kind of brutal, probably very slow death he suffered from Mrs. Chu.
I played this last night. Was one hell of an experience, not going to lie. I believe she also made a soup out of Johnny Ratface and forced Dogeyes to eat it. The dude experienced hell prematurely.

For those who don't know, it's Lucy Liu singing and she's talking about a guy who got yellow fever. Not the real disease, the one when the guy goes crazy every time he sees an Asian Girl.
I'm pretty sure that's a myth. A friend of mine messaged someone on the game's development team when it came out on steam a couple years back to find out who sang the song. He said that they used a local LA artist that he happened to know but who isn't famous at all.
Picked this game up on sale after I built my PC, and oh my GOD is it so much better on a second playthrough. I loved it as a kid, but I didn’t appreciate the smaller details until playing the game a second time. S-tier soundtrack, both licensed and original. S-tier combat, S-tier worldbuilding, and the story… my God. There were a lot of little details I wasn’t able to pick up on as a kid, and once I gave it a second run I was able to piece more things together and it made it that much more impactful. Like I said, it’s one of those things you can’t _truly_ appreciate until you give it a second run. And even then, the story still hits. It still hits me right in the feels, just like it did the first time, if not even greater now that I’m older and can truly appreciate everything about it. The soundtrack, the open world, everything is just about perfect with this game. Genuinely one of the best games I’ve ever played. And dare I say, on PC with max-ultra everything, you’d think it came out this year. It’s aged BEAUTIFULLY for a nearly ten year old game, and for that reason it’s one of the best I’ve ever played. And thank you, Sleeping Dogs, for getting this banger stuck in my head yet again.
I Love this song and the game, very underrated. This game was a masterpiece and if they made a Sequel (which may not happen because the company behind the game just closed I heard) But if they had the same team and did a part 2...it would destroy GTA.

GTA is a old and well known franchise. I don't think this would have effected it much even if it did have multiplayer. This game isn't that well known. I only learned about it a few months ago and I mainly play single player games.

I'm pretty sure that's a myth. A friend of mine messaged someone on the game's development team when it came out on steam a couple years back to find out who sang the song. He said that they used a local LA artist that he happened to know but who isn't famous at all.

Picked this game up on sale after I built my PC, and oh my GOD is it so much better on a second playthrough. I loved it as a kid, but I didn’t appreciate the smaller details until playing the game a second time. S-tier soundtrack, both licensed and original. S-tier combat, S-tier worldbuilding, and the story… my God. There were a lot of little details I wasn’t able to pick up on as a kid, and once I gave it a second run I was able to piece more things together and it made it that much more impactful. Like I said, it’s one of those things you can’t _truly_ appreciate until you give it a second run. And even then, the story still hits. It still hits me right in the feels, just like it did the first time, if not even greater now that I’m older and can truly appreciate everything about it. The soundtrack, the open world, everything is just about perfect with this game. Genuinely one of the best games I’ve ever played. And dare I say, on PC with max-ultra everything, you’d think it came out this year. It’s aged BEAUTIFULLY for a nearly ten year old game, and for that reason it’s one of the best I’ve ever played. And thank you, Sleeping Dogs, for getting this banger stuck in my head yet again.
