The 7th WV was here with the 89th New York, Co. G. Thanks for uploading this video! You can see some of our men walking to the rear wounded towards the middle.
The ending seen was shot with a different camera, and I was unable to get the original sound, at all from the end. Having the taps that was played was supposed to be the ending as you said. I was equally disappointed in the fact that it didn't play.
thanks so much for recording this i missed the time limit to register for the event im a member of the 18th va danville greys in danville va , it looked like alot of fun maybe in 5 yrs i can make the next one :) nice video not matter what .
Thanks man, this video really gave me some incites on how a battle actually was fought, I'm re-creating a civil war journal so this will help me out alot(:
This was a great reenactment, I am very grateful that I got to be a part of it. I had never seen so many casualties in one spot in all of the reenactments that i had ever been in before. LOL, I can pick myself out in line at 00:53
You can hear that the noise level was amazing. Yet, it represented only about 1/20th of the just the rifles and muskets that would have been firing on the battlefield during this assault. Now add to it firing cannons, exploding shells, the crack of whizzing bullets, and flying shrapnel. I was right behind my son when he was filming this, and it was loud enough without all the other sounds that would have added to the racket.
Incidentally, the assault on Marye's Heights wiped out most of the Irishmen of the "Irish Brigade". Although the unit continued to fight during the war, it was supplemented with replacements of men from various nationalities from this point forward and lost its Irish ethnic character.
i visited fredericksburg in sept, 2011, my first visit to virginia, and to the other surrounding battlefields. Beautifull countryside, despite the past bloodshed of American history. if you're interested in the Civil War, visit this and other battlefields....a great experience!
jesus those yanks had balls. if only 600 guys could make that noise, imagine what thousands of sodiers could make and knowing that you had to charge into that hell man what balls for the real soldiers

Was standing next to the camera when this was being filmed. The noise level was amazing.

Just a thought u could stabilize it using the you tube editing system but it might cut off some parts from the screen of the battle.

Thanks, I thought it was really good, so I wanted to share it.
Thanks!
in my experance, the UA-cam stabilizer does a really bad job, a lot of times it makes it worse by blurring it together.
Darn, that really sucks. But yeah, hopefully you will be a the next one. Thanks
Awesome job out there

Its a good soundtrack for a Gettysburg Reenactment but not for a Fredericksburg.
yeah its not the best thing but the video is still pretty cool ;)
That stupid soundtrack ruined the video.
