What a lot of work! Talk about challenges. Cold weather, steep hill, invasive plants--you deserve a gold medal for this work! Thanks for sharing your progress.
While gardening is a joy for me no one ever said that gardening WASN’T a workout 🏋🏼. I’m always getting winded in early spring after sitting for most of the winter, thankfully after a few weeks in the garden I start to adjust again. But being 70 I do have to take a few breaks. 🤭🪻🌷💚🙃
YES to the gorgeous homestead purple verbena! 💜 Jenny, I'm in complete awe of your endless energy and perseverance...and your acrobatic moves today! Your design is absolutely wonderful, and I really love all of your selections and colors. The junipers are a genius idea, and they set a perfect tone for the whole project. Goodness knows that you must be worn to the bone after that incredible workout! I can't wait for the next episode! Your channel is at the top of my gardening favorites!! Linda
I like the plan. The work you did today adds so much to what you already completed. I admire your plan to get rid of the invasive growth. It is a lot of work. Keep us updated. It is looking really nice.
Real life gardening; when. before one plants, the pre-existing plants need to be moved.😊 sounds like my garden, thanks for posting. Your garden concept sounds good going forward.
I love your vision for the driveway garden and it is already taking shape and looking good. You need a garden buddy to help you with the vinca removal. Big jobs like that are always more enjoyable while chatting with a friend.
Hey Jenny, nice video, i love the Junipers. love that silvery blue color! I agree with the purple homestead flower, i think it Will look great! If i lived close i could clean all that out for ya for a clump of spider wort 😉 I love Spiderwort one of my favorite perrennials. Cant wait to see this come together!
I love your channel Jenny. You are the real deal doing all that hard work! I'd love to hear you talk about how you keep your back healthy. You have great body mechanics when planting. Back is straight. That's my struggle right now-my back just doesn't hold out. Anyway, your home and gardens are beautiful!
Hi Jenny, this is a really fun project to follow along with! The junipers are the perfect size, color, and function for your wall. I am sure a year from now, you will feel such satisfaction on every drive up to your house!
Over the years, with divisions we eventually up with too many plants, lots of spares and changed mind about. I cannot throw plants away but sure don’t need everything Mother Nature gives me! I will put in a nursery pot, water well and put at end of driveway , share the never ending bounty 😊. Mark the plant with a species label and they go in no time on to a new home.
Hi Jenny🌺 . The Juneper shrubs are so pretty and if you plant verbena plants and Marguerite dasies they are going to be amazing . Have a wonderful day .🌺🌻🌺
The drive way, the bane of one’s existence…I watched all your driveway videos. After the most recent one, I’ve been waiting for an update…can’t wait to see everything grow…
Yes to the purple verbena! That area is a really challenging space to plant up but when it’s completed it will be fantastic. You have a good plan and you worked hard today!
You have really changed that garden that you really didn't like into something beautiful and it's just going to get better! I wanted to bring you an empty (no holed) tray to put all your new starts in so you can transport them easily without picking them all up again, but maybe you were throwing them into a tray I couldn't see lol. Very pretty!
Everything's looking great! I just want to say how much I appreciate the amount of time you left the carex details on the screen for me to read without having to pause the video 😂. Planting on a hillside is no joke. What a workout! I have slopes but nothing like yours and it kills my feet and ankles.
I have a fenced area that I just established as a flowerbeds so this is so helpful! I really like the gray Al Juniper. I’ve seen it at several nurseries and have considered it for over a year now. Love the carex and I love your choices!
I was waiting for you to remove that tag 😂! Hard work clearing such a densely planted area but it is going to look great! Yes to the Homestead Verbena.
Love the simple palette you’ve chosen! Very smart for low maintenance so you don’t need to work on that hill and roll down the driveway later on 😊. It gives the eye a rest also with repetition. At the end you asked about verbena. I would choose only a couple and do large sections to make the greatest impact. Too many and it’s a patchwork quilt. You have Carex and creeping phlox and spring bulbs. And will also add climbing roses on fence. That may be enough. I need to get vinca, yucca and spiderwort out also. And I don’t think I will ever get all the plaintan hostas or that steppables sedum as I still found some. Sigh! Great job!
I like the plan. For me I would add some more winter interest though since most of these things will die back in the winter. Maybe some boxwoods or holly for structure or a narrow conifer. I’m in the northeast so I always am looking for winter interest.
I might have staggered the junipers and planted the middle one more in the middle of the bed , zig zag rather than all lined up along fence ? You have taken on a massive project. I will enjoy following your progress and support you , but I know from experience the work to remove vinca.....good luck with your project Jenny, pace yourself 😊
Love seeing you out in your garden. Today is my first day this spring for getting my hands dirty. Must dig and pot many of my plants as they are moving to a new state. My son has a home with the need for some landscaping plants.
The junipers are a great fit. I know it’s frowned upon, but the only way to get rid of the ivy is round up. Otherwise, you’ll end up fighting it forever.
I may have misunderstood, but I think you said you were going to plant the carex next to the junipers? If so, both of them look blue-gray on camera so maybe you could spread them further apart? Or maybe my monitor, or my sleepy eyes(it about 2 am) are just mistaken on the colors . I like homestead purple verbena and think it will be pretty on the slope.
Personally I never liked the ground junipers mainly because they hold and hide fall leaves bugs etc that gather underneath. But good luck in your garden!
Please be careful with your back says a retiree with lower back pain. Those junipers are gorgeous and wish I could grow them. Unfortunately they give me ugly itchy rashes, but there are other plants.
@@HarmonyHillsHomeandGarden Both my knees are bionic now, but at 77, I still haven’t heard any good news about lower back replacements. I used to think the yoga pose ‘cobra’ was comfy. Alas the warranties on body parts expire unexpectedly. Stay healthy and stay gardening. Love your channel.
Don't understand the fascination with grasses! I want to cut my grass, not grow it in my garden bed. I see the plants everywhere, they don't look great, just like...tall grass
I understand... these are the first ones I'm adding. They grow out/mounded, not tall, so that's one difference. Mainly, I like that they are erosion control, and native to our area so some insects will benefit from them.
Previous owners planted vinca and it’s growing ALL over the place now. My husband likes it so I’m trying to keep some of it contained but the rest of it it’s out of here, until it comes back. ☹️🪻🌷💚🙃 They also planted ditch lilies, I just mow over them where I’m able to.🤭🪻🌷💚🙃

The junipers look great there. They definitely changed the way the driveway garden looks
Gosh, Jenny. Lotta work clearing out that vinca - baby steps. A little bit each day. It'll look LOVELY in the end!!! You got this, girl!

I give you alot of credit because it is so hard to work on a hill. Love your ideas.
Billy goat behavior! 🤣 Looking great Jenny, seems like a lot of work but it's coming together!

Yes to the Homestead Verbena. I think that deep purple will be beautiful there!

Looking good! You've made great choices. Look forward to watching it get completed and mature
Looks great! Thanks for sharing your thought process and diagrams with making new beds/plantings.

Verbena would look awesome. This garden is super awesome!!😂
Yes to the purple verbena! That area is a really challenging space to plant up but when it’s completed it will be fantastic. You have a good plan and you worked hard today!
Hi Jenny I love your plan for this large space. It will really fill in that area and add a lot of beauty to your garden.
Love the grey owl junipers, great choice and vision. Hand it to you for taking on that area, looks daunting.
You have really changed that garden that you really didn't like into something beautiful and it's just going to get better! Wow! Jenny your driveway garden is beautiful! Good job!
Yes to the verbena! Looking awesome! ❤
Hi Jenny, I love your vision for your side driveway. It's giving me some ideas for my (much smaller) front yard! Happy gardening!
Oh look! The neighbor watered your plants! 😉😛
I have a fenced area that I just established as a flowerbeds so this is so helpful! I really like the gray Al Juniper. I’ve seen it at several nurseries and have considered it for over a year now. Love the carex and I love your choices!

Love the junipers!! Thank you for the inspiration!
This is going to be gorgeous!
I have been digging up Vinca for a very long time! good luck Jenny.
I think I'm going to like it! It's a good day!😊

You just reminded me that I have to add a measuring tape to my collection of tools that I carry around with me in a canvas tote, thank you ! 🪻🌷💚🙃
Love the idea of verbena!!! The color will look nice with the colors you already have planted!!! Love the plan you have for the driveway garden

Great plan and it's going to be beautiful! Lots of work but so worth it! ❤
Yes on the Verbena choice
It looks great!😊❤
Looks great Jenny! I laughed at your mountain goat comment, as I was thinking the same thing.

I stull like your plan! I trust your vision😊.
It's hard work getting rid of vinca, but it's going to be so pretty

The Carex is a bright medium green, not bluish at all. Camera tricks, I guess.
Personally I never liked the ground junipers mainly because they hold and hide fall leaves bugs etc that gather underneath. But good luck in your garden!
Yes, that is a thing to consider, for sure.
Please be careful with your back says a retiree with lower back pain. Those junipers are gorgeous and wish I could grow them. Unfortunately they give me ugly itchy rashes, but there are other plants.
My back is strong... it's my knees and feet that give me trouble! But, take it slow and steady, all good.

That biotone really works fast, those junipers grew right before my eyes ! 😂🪻🌷💚🙃
