Thank you, thank you, thank you for being and for sharing your being with the world. You're so nutritious to every aspect of my being and thank you for the reminders and wisdom you provide.
I'm an INTP and my natural style is to study, and I neglect practice. I get soooo imbalanced, get so stuck in my head, but lately I've been really contemplating and meditating on the imbalance to see what it is like in my mind and body. I'm coming to see that being around others whose cognitive function styles are different from mine is really imperative for my health and for the health of the community. My two best friends who are both interested in individuating and they are an INFP and an ENTJ. We are very different in our natural styles, but they really help to balance me, and I try to help them to balance in our interactions. I'm working on expanding out my social circle with people who are also interested in individuation (or whatever word is used I don't mind).
My ENTJ is what is called a "mirror" relationship. His ego is my unconscious and vice versa. Whenever I find myself being annoyed, angered, or bothered in some way by his behavior and words I switch it around on myself and see what is in me that I'm fighting against and that I might be projecting on to him. It is so invaluable, he is so invaluable to me. He teaches me, by his presence alone at times, how to integrate my unconscious. My INFP best friend helps me to differentiate my Fi function (her hero, my daimon/demon), and I help her to differentiate her Ti (her daimon/demon and my hero). They are both helping me to "grow my hands and feet back," which is something I am working on after living on the street as a kid and really disconnecting from ego through trauma.
Just being together begins this process, and it is so beautiful. Whenever I contemplate my friends and our interconnection I'm stunned at the immense beauty, the joy in the pain and happiness that we are as humans. I imagine a world in which everyone's styles are recognized, valued and enjoyed so that we can balance each other as this social organism that we are. In my attempts to expand my social circle I'm too attached to the outcome, and I get very lost. I come on too big and too strong and I help to create an environment in which everyone gets out their measuring sticks and I don't mean to, and I need to be more quiet and more centered in my search. This is because I neglect practice and turn into a mentat on steriods.
I'm going to find others who can also show me the beauty of their styles and try to integrate more of myself through their expertise of their themselves. I will meditate more consistently, stay more centered and try more and more to let go of the expectation and yearning I feel. We really are miraculous, this is all very miraculous and I need to spend more time being grateful that we all exist to begin with, even in the midst of strife.
