That was a brilliant underwater commentary, way better than gurgling noise. The magnetite/quarts/green stone layering lesson, was really informative to a wannabe prospector like myself. Cheers
Very nice work. Thanks for showing it in such detail. I did notice you were tossing a lot of rotted quartz. Do you ever keep a bucket for that and break it up later for extraction?
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I've come acrossed a few deposits where the magnetite is just jumping out at me. It's always so exciting when it happens. I bet it was awesome! The bedrock though, beautiful ridges and separates nicely! Congrats on finding that spot!
Beautiful spot, congratulations on your take! Haven't made it to the dredge level yet here in CO, alot of places we're not allowed to dredge as you know. All the best in the field, that definitely looks like a great time, the water will be colder soon, and it always stays pretty cool
@@ColoradoGoldCamp the only place we don't have cold, but cool is downstream from the Coors plant on Clear Creek lol, your right it's cold year round and it only gets colder the higher the altitude!
Is this part of your camp? I want to join the camp next year. And wondering if the places you prospect. Areas that I will be able to prospect next summer? I can’t wait to join.. I live in Florida and I’m chomping at the bit to strike a shovel in the ground!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp is this area part of the goal camp? I am joining the camp for next year. And was wondering if the places I see you go are areas that I will be able to prospect next summer? I’m chomping at the bit to get up there. I live in Florida and I can’t wait!!
So what they have a season there in Colorado for dredging cuz here we can go until everything freezes sometimes I'll dredge up to the end of December and part way into January
Oh man, nothing about dredging is easy! The challenge n hard work builds character right! ;) hehe. Even with all of the energy and focus exerted, I find being underwater working, a very peaceful and zen like environment.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Ahh! Yeah, figured it was something to do with that. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on some secret method to get rid of something. Thanks!
Fantastic footage, well done. Great to see the action right down in the water and how you use the different tools. Looks like tons of fun. Thanks man!!
Nice work there. Great video and editing. Of course awesome take on the Au. Keep living the dream. Used to placer in Fairplay years ago before all the bs. Guess now the old name of foulplay would suite it better. :)
Haa, interesting take. I was in Fairplay the other day. In days of old, the prospectors left Como for Fairplay because of the open and free opportunities there. Not so much anymore. Even if you have ground, the community can be a challenge. If you don't mind me asking, what general area did you work?
Cool man. Nice setup. I got a dang good creek on my claim that’s shallow enough not to need a diving setup. This makes me think here. Back in 1907. 2 miners that first came to the claim got 20 oz in 7 hours right out of the creek. Man in Alaska. Cold creek though Pretty good take
I feel like thats pretty much your real voice. Im from boulder and grew up on sugarloaf mountain, you sound just like me and all my dipshit buddies 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Why does everyone say 31 grams is an ounce???? WRONG!!!... I smoke pot... There is "8" 8ths in an OUNCE... ONE 8TH WEIGHS 3.5 3.5 X 8 = 28 GRAMS 28 GRAMS = 1 OUNCE
Gold is measured in Troy ounces: Avoirdupois Ounce (oz): 28.3 grams Troy Ounce (Troy oz): 31.1 grams A troy ounce weighs about 10% more compared to an ounce, which makes a big difference when it comes to precious metals.
An ounce for 2 days work plus machinery cost. That's abou 900/day for how many people plus transportation. So maybe. Say 2 people. 450 each minus machinery and fuel costs. Sounds like an average wage for a heck of a lot more trouble. More return on the video if you get more subscribers. The entertainment buis.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I see what you mean. You stay in good physical shape too. As you said it's a young man's game. Hard to imagine the work those guys did cutting those hole underground. That's even before moving the rocks out. Tough job to say yhe least.
Talk in your normal voice. We aren't a bunch of hicks that watch. Many gold videos to watch. Good clarity on the video. I always wonder how much is spent making a video as to what one would do not making one?.
Making decent videos/content is fairly complex. Camera, computer, time, software, expertise, travel, editing etc. The hardest part for me is gold lost due to time spent filming.
Great view from the end of a dredge nozzle! This guy really nailed it! He's got the Gold Fever
Hehe, the lure for gold is strong my friend!
Nice dredge spot! I like seeing your underwater footage. Crazy amounts of black sands down there.
Thanks Colter! This spot in particular has LARGE black sands! Just downstream the material has been pulverized, leaving mass quantities of small BS.
Awesome adventure for sure. Keep living the dream. thanks for the great content

You could try sniping for gold instead of dredging.
Really appreciate the view of a modern day prospector. Just amazing

How often are you cleaning out your sluice
I cleanout this sluice roughly every 3-4 hours of nozzle time.

One Million Dollars! This dredge is a pieced together, McGuyver Franken Dredge built for as little $ as possible!

What area do you prospect in, just gotta ask!
