- Sunday 26th January 2020 saw the annual Bristol 0 Gauge Model Railway Show held at The University of the West of England, Bristol.
The event is one of the biggest 0 Gauge shows in the South West, featuring over 80 specialist traders and societies, plus 12 superb layouts on display, showing 0 Gauge Modelling.
Hope you enjoy!
Muy bonitas todas las maquetas.
Awesome quality.video. The interior footage of the Big Boy entering the engine shed was out of this world. Seeing such quality film reinforces my enthusiasm for this scale. Ride on and thank you very much.
Glad you enjoyed. Really was a superb show! The Big Boys were certainly impressive
Who's layout is Laramie? Lovely Union Pacific power.
It was great meeting you there at the event. I ended up buying my first o gauge item, a LMS plank wagon and I've ordered some diorama boards and I'm planning to do an o gauge siding diorama build on my channel. Thanks again, Joe
Like wise. Was a superb event! Oh dear, slippery slop that ;) Hope the build goes well
Beautiful layouts. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Really was a superb show! Glad you enjoyed
Brilliant. Thanks so much for posting. I cannot get to the exhibitions in the UK. They quality is excellent. I really appreciate you taking the time to film and post. Thanks, Richard.
You're very welcome! Hope to get out to some more proper shows in the flesh soon. Thankfully there slowly coming back. So hopefully more show video to follow soon :)
Thank you for sharing that.
Glad you enjoyed Ian
O gauge is very nice especially with Sound and DCC!
Smashing layout ladies an gents!! Do any of your members have the flying Scotsman, do love all the sounds as well.
Some beautiful models there. The pair of Big Boys must have been enormous and the loco shed even more so.
Oh yes, they certainly are quite a sight! Glad you enjoyed
The 4014 was recently restored and is now running routes on the main lines throughout the us. It's quite interesting to see people from the UK model US railways.
Dad's army looking interesting
Very good
Really is a superb layout that. Glad you enjoyed!
Enjoyed that thanks Callum! I'm still conflicted between OO and O gauge for the forthcoming Loft Layout. O gauge is so much more expensive, but with far less RTR stuff than OO there is less temptation to buy shiny new trains!
do both. why not.
Depends where you look. Dapol have some real 0 Gauge bargains ;)
@@SDJR7F88 I conceded. I have my first O gauge items waiting for me in my Hattons trunk :) Six weeks now, still waiting on their delivery of O gauge curved Setrack... ahem! ;@) Am sure it will be worth the wait.
Supervisor 👍
Good video
Thanks Rob. Glad you enjoyed
Great camera work, as always. A shame not to have seen more younger modelers. I suppose that is a lament heard on both sides of the Atlantic..
O gauge is very much in the realms of the model engineering types with the youngsters focussed on 00 and maybe n.
@@LeslieGilpinRailways Hello Leslie. Yes, I think you're correct, although I must be an oddity as most people I know who started in tinplate O gauge eventually graduated to HO. I got my first Lionel O27 "Scout" steam engine train set for the Christmas I was four, sixty-five years ago, and never left the gauge. So there's "model railways" for scale, and "playing with the trains" for tinplate, and a bit of shelf layout HO for those days when I feel like deluding myself into thinking my eyesight is what it once was.....
Clip of a 7F followed by a clip of a Merchant Navy, perfect 👌
How long did you spend at that one layout watching the 7F? 😛
Ha! A bit ;) Got bowled by the Bulleid a few times ;)
@@SDJR7F88 Oh perfect! 🤣
I’m assuming that the reason that u were able to spend more time at each layout was because urs wasn’t at the show therefore u didn’t need to look after or keep “performing” for the spectators ( my phrasing may sound a little harsh my apologies)
Far from it. I was on the Peco stand :) So was even more of a rush!
SDJR7F88 ahh it didn’t feel like it I liked watching more than one working per layout allows the viewer to enjoy it more imo
It does, but often it takes and extra 10 minutes pre layout for that extra shot, as things sometimes derail, people block shots etc. Gives me more time to enjoy my visit to the show
great video shame there was no modern image tho !
Not this year sadly, however there was plenty of it on sale
All good layouts but I have a problem with steam sound. Steam engines do coast, with steam shut off A LOT !
Most trains with sound here sound like all the brakes are on or that single open wagon must be loaded with gold bullion! And a light engine on shed is pretty much silent
