Brilliant job! My E36 had the problem, went to repairer who said he cannot do anything with it as still working, if it was not working he could do something with it! It fixed itself!!!! and then we went over a pot hole of which there are plenty here in UK and now although the fuel low light is on, gauge not working again, only low fuel light. Possibly a connector as with yours. Hopefully.
thank you my friend for your help....was the same wire like yours...but i have replace it with a new fuel pump....the old was 25 years old.....but still works....i repair the wire and i keep it for spare part......
@@mengsuan never checked...funny enough i had to change out my fuel pump again and now its completely dead like this so ill attempt this and see how it goes
my fuel gauge isn't working. I ran the cluster through a test. There is fuel in it, but it cranks but won't start. Is there anything else I should check?

Seems to be a problem with many E36 cars especially after a lot of mileage.

This is WQW Mechanical and Services in USJ 1. This is a task that you can also attempt at home. Do it when fuel level is low
I have a 318i and the fuel gauge works up to half tank. Ive switched out fuel pumps and its the same thing
How about the fuel sender on the other side?
