this time you can hear the exhaust properly
no change in MPG after muffller swap
factory muffler was removed. this one was added. thats it!
resonator is still installed.
with K&N intake. no changes in MPG
this cruze was recently tuned by trifecta after this video was made.

I test drove a Cruze and I was never tempted to put a Magnaflow exhaust on it. But with an indifferent 138 horsepower I would gladly spend my money on power increases.

1) What RPM did you rev up to?
2) All you did was add the Magna muffler with some end pipe mods to fit the Magna muffler?? No work done before the rear axle at all?? If that's all, holy crap that's amazing and exciting!

Mekhail Kheel all that was done was a rear muffler swap. so it's pretty much an axel back job. a bit of pipe had to be bent and welded as well as an extra hangar was added.

Cam Rehman the "tip" is a muffler. magna flow 14805. not very expensive , no need to change the whole exhaust. bought on eBay

i had it installed at a local muffler shop. they had to re bend new piping to fit the new muffler

The exhaust goes stright back from the exhaust manifold to the rear. Once near the rear axle. If curves towards the left rear tire. From there it does a large u shape towards the right rear tire. That is where the original muffler is normaly installed. I cut the exhaust just befor the u and added a bit of pipe with the new muffler.

I don't know much about mods. Are the exhausts vehicle specific or do you have to buy other parts or weld to get them to fit?
The muffler in this video is completely universal. Will fit on any vehicle. Your local muffler shop will be able to set it up for you. Make sure to pick one with a pipe bender, so that they can assure to have a proper leak free installation.

Sounds great, looks like typical Magnaflow quality. The look is how the car should have come from the factory however I wish it sat up a little closer to the bumper (bigger cutout in bumper). I am considering a Cruze Eco 6spd in the near future and would not be going to town trimming my bumper on a brand new car. Guess my option is to do what you did and do the piping from the cat back to the Magnaflow later on. What bov are you using? Sure doesn't sound stock. Nice little car though!

A tiny bit of drone. But our cars exhaust is so restrictive. Not bad at all. 6 speed manual
ty for sharing, that was... beautiful.... I have the ATH-M50x auti technica headphones with a asus xonar dx sound card... Sounded sexy... Loved it... :) hope to do something similar. Surprised no loss or gain on the mpg. Though do you notice more pickup with it? Even with the turbo?

warlock9445 the muffler witj changed and the car was tuned by trifecta as stated in the description. Also it has a 6 speed manual transmission
RMLeLoup You won't see a difference with just changing a muffler (unless it was the restriction in the first place). Just noise. He'd see a difference if he changed out the downpipe/midpipe (standard turbo upgrades for any vehicle). Mufflers do not add performance.
I honetly think that the exhaust has no other benifit besides sound an a bit les restriction.
Hey man I have a red 2012 1.4l cruze too and I am thinking about getting a magnaflow muffler on it. Did you have resonators deleted? Because yours sounds exactly how I want mine too lol.
***** the only modification done to this exhaust system was a muffler delete. then i added this in its place at the end.

just a muffler. any changes made to a car with a warranty can affect your warranty. buyer beware . it all depends on your dealership as well. if they are dicks they will void your warranty. but if there is a problem with your cruze, they have to prove that the modifications you made caused the problem.

You wrote in the description that with the new exhaust and K&N you didn't see any difference in MPG's? How do you drive normally? Aggressive? Passive? I've put a magnaflow exhaust and K&N on my 97 Jeep and saw about 3-4 MPG increase and that was with a V8 engine.

How in the world did you get that muffler to fit in such a way it looks the way it does? I got that same muffler, dumped it on but there's a bracket right behind the bumper. The way you have your muffler positioned, it looks like it's sitting under that bracket. Also looks like you had cut more of your bumper away to angle the muffler where it's at right now. Seems like you have curb clearance issues with that angle.
there was a lot of modification made to the exhaust, the mounting bracket was relocated and the bumper was cut. a new dampener was added as well. an elbow was bent to make it fit, it was a custom job, not a backyard job.

It's not a bolt on setup. It requires cutting off the factory muffler and welding this muffler on
Where did you get those mud flaps? Are they just pieces of rubber? I bought plastic ones for my Cruze but they don't hang down nearly as low at yours. I still get quite a bit of spray.
they are the rally armour brand basic mud flaps. 40$ made out of a flexible polymer plastic. check it out on the rally armour website

Which resonator does your Cruze have I’ve seen some with a shorter one and one with a longer one.

I understand that but I’ve seen 2 different sizes of stock resonators on cruzes idk if they changed it through the years or if they came on the different models. One is about a foot long and the other is roughly 2 1/2 feet long. Idk if it makes a difference in sound I’m just curious because mine has the shorter one and I’m going to a shop on Monday to get the same muffler installed.
@@jacobhendershot3189 I no longer own the vehicle, but I'm pretty sure it's the longer one. You could always check on an online parts diagram of the exhaust for the 2012 1.4l turbo exhaust. Your gonna love it. Cheers!

You shoulda straight piped it, esp if its a 1.4t. Its cheaper and sounds better. No drone sound on the highway either, I bet you paid over $100 for that muffler. The displacement of this motor makes a quiet motor. Keep the resonator or it will sound terrible

Does adding the muffler gove that extra turbo sound? Mine dont make it that prominent, on the wine down.
Also did you keep your stock intake or swap it for the short ram
i removed the stock muffler and replaced it with a magnaflow straight through muffler, it most likely lets more sound from the turbo be heard, but i think its more my k&n typoon 69 air intake that produces the most turbo sounds.

I had the Remus exhaust from my previous car. So was thinking of putting it the Chevy.
unless you will have a huge drop in back pressure i dont see why there would be a problem. the worst that could happen is your ecu will throw a code ad your check engine will light up. anything axel back never seems to have any effect on back pressure

Yes it's just a muffler. Not a complete exhaust. Plus I believe the new cruze have an exhaust cutout now on the rear bumber

Brendan Cone your welcome. Any aftermarket muffler will give a deeper sound. The stock exhaust is not designed to be impressive at all. It's more of a "family friendly " style
