She and 3 of her sisters USS Ranger (CC-4), USS Constitution (CC-5) and USS United States (CC-6) were scrapped in 1923. USS Lexington (CV-2) and USS Saratoga (CV-3) would be converted into Aircraft Carriers, Lexington would be sunk at the battle of the coral Sea in 1942, Saratoga would survive the war being sunk as a target ship in 1947 during operation crossroads. The Lexington-Class were going to be the first battlecruisers ever built by the United States Navy. They would be modeled off the Colorado-Class Battleships and be armed with the same 16" guns from the cancelled 1920 South Dakota Class. With a purposed top speed of 33 knots, they would of been a match for the Kongo-Class they were designed to oppose along with the then king of the battlecruisers HMS Hood. However, being a signature on the Washington Naval Treaty in 1922, the Lexington-Class were cancelled, though they were doomed before that as US Naval Doctrine moved towards the all or nothing Battleships after reviewing the battles of Jutland and Dogger Bank. It could be argued that the US finally did join the battlecruiser craze alittle later with the two Alaska-class Battlecruisers/Large Cruisers.

U.S.S. Constellation (CC-2) was the second ship of the planned 6 Lexington-class battlecruisers for the United States Navy. As in response to the Imperial Japanese Navy’ construction of the Kongō-class battlecruisers. The construction of these ships was authorized under the 1917-1919 building programs, were the only ships of their type ever ordered by the U.S. Navy. Intended as fast combat scouts for the battle fleet, these large ships had a prolonged development history. Their original 1916 design was to displace 34,300 tons with a main battery of ten 14-inch guns, rather light armor, seven smokestacks with many of the boilers above the armored deck, and a speed of 35 knots. By 1919, the plans had been recast on the basis of World War I experience to produce larger ships armed with 16-inch guns, much better protection, two smokestacks with all boilers below the armored deck, and a somewhat lower speed. Construction of the Lexington class ships was held up by other priorities during the First World War, and none of them were laid down until mid-1920. The following year's naval limitations conference in Washington, D.C., had these expensive battle cruisers, and their Japanese and British contemporaries, among its main targets. Following adoption of the Washington Treaty, their construction was stopped in February 1922. The treaty allowed the conversion of two of the battle cruiser hulls to the aircraft carriers Lexington (CV-2) and Saratoga (CV-3). 🇺🇸🇩🇪👌
After all this time the aim still hasn't improved
Dont think my aim was that bad in this fight so not sure what you're on about
@@SpartanElite43 7/10 on the aim not bad yeah but you've been "not bad" since ever and compared to pgrapidz yeah and I know you UA-camrs pick the best matches for your videos but still should be better by this point because I've seen your videos for a long time
@@chocolatecaliente9 see that's the thing.. I dont compare myself to others.
I know where I stand in terms of my performance.
I'm a solid Uni and I'm ok with that.
I dont need to be top 1% player.
We have plenty of folks that are top 1% who talk about how amazing they are.
I just enjoy playing the game and sharing my experience with everyone.
I focus on being entertaining and that works for me.
Plus my overall accuracy is a solid 42%..
Most of the top players are at 45% from what I've seen so it isn't as big a difference as you'd think.
My biggest downfall isn't my accuracy it is my over aggressive style of gameplay which often finds me in bad positions and gets me sunk.
However this is also probably the main reason folks watch my content...
Anyone can sit back and snipe for 15 minutes or island hop..
Not everyone can play the game at the pace I do and come out on the winning side as often as I do.
Despite what many think even after doing this as long as I have I still only have like 11k games played.
Anyway hope this helps clear some stuff up.
Also hope you enjoy watching my content for what it is.
Appreciate you coming around for such a long time.
