Someone who’s just starting this year and just upgraded from a 3400 to a 750 this was SO helpful! I have so much more to learn but am thrilled to have this tutorial!
Hey Jared, A table of content with time codes would make it easier for someone, who knows most of the things you talk about in the beginning, to jump to the interesting parts. With such a long video it's easier to watch a part again later, too.
I have never felt compelled enough to ever write a comment but Jared, thank you so much for saving me hours of reading the manual or fumbling around UA-cam or other sites. Having you do demonstrations in real time was absolutely invaluable. Superbly delightful and fit for purpose, all of your videos are insightful and well composed and you're so generous to share your technique, training and wisdom with all of you. Thank you for making such thoughtful content. You've earned a loyal subscriber. It's people like you, Jared, that make UA-cam such a vibrant community of which to be a member. All the best in your future endeavors.

Hello! Please help me get a menu in English in text format for me to translate into Vietnamese. help Vietnamese people know about Menu's effect on the D750 nikon. We are a poor country and need an explanation of the menu's effect to set up when taking pictures, we are groping very hard on our D750. Thank you, my mail is: trandung1979py2018@gmail.com.
you are an idol Jared, how much patience you have to explaine every single f***** button. on a camera like the d750. i know all this stuff but i watch it again.
I think the D750 is and will prove to be one of the best cameras ever in relation to price/value/picture quality/functionality. 24 pixels, tilt screen, superb focusing system, wifi, this is very well balanced product. And I just got one three weeks ago. So far so good, but I have not used it enough to say much more yet. But this is my gut feel so far.
Btw, in case you didn't end up figuring it out, easy ISO is for when you're in aperture priority mode, etc, and you just use one of the dials to change ISO instead of pressing the button and turning the dial together.
Just made it to the 11 minute mark and let me say I appreciate you just identifying the buttons and functions by name, and how much we might use them. The user manual is a lot to sift through so it helps to hear what things I'll be primarily working with so I don't spend my energy reading about features that I might not be using right now. Someday it would be nice to know all that but I can only absorb so much info at a time!
After struggling to get out of auto-mode and feeling overwhelmed by the camera I found this video. THANK YOU! Thank you for giving a visual user's manual to all of us visual learners out here. Very helpful and much appreciated.
Thank you so much for this interesting quick tutorial . I am sony user for 10 years switched recently to nikon D750 . I had some bad time with D750 Because I am not familiar with Buttons yet . your video helped me so much
Jared Polin Your "cake ingredients" analogy is an exceptional and very clever way to describe RAW vs JPEG. It is madness that we have many well read photography blogs claiming JPEG is the way to go. Sort of like Ken Rockwell saying a D3200 is as good as the D4S minus a few buttons - lol! Thanks JP!
Easy ISO is just that you can change the ISO by using the dial... Not sure if anyone has commented on that. Switching from Canon and found this video very useful. I hate going through the user manual and usually take a while to get through it. Thanks for taking the time to go through all the settings. Actually hearing someone talk about them makes it easier to remember them.
Thank goodness for this video! I took my two main Canon bodies in for cleaning during the holidays and was asked to shoot a bridal session last minute. I have a Nikon d750 that I have never used and had NO IDEA how to use it! Watched this video and now I feel pretty confident about using it for this session. I know it will be a little more slow going than being used to my 5D M3+4 but I am okay with that!
Thank You Fro It took me a while to be able to Buy this Tool and I hope it will be able to do what I need it to do! I have a dozen DX bodies but this will be my first FX Body! Thank You for the update Video in June 2024!
Jared Polin I saw ur Review on D750 and i bought it. This is what i was waiting for, bought the cam day before and you released the video yesterday what a treat . Switched from Canon to nikon,This is what i was waiting for . Thanks a Lot Regards from India.
WOW BRO. IM NOTICING ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENCES. YOU KIND OF ANSWERED MY QUESTION ABOUT LATER MODELS. I DIDNT GET ANY NIPPLES ON MY AF BUTTON/SNIFF SNIFF, MY 810 HAS THEM,NO FLIPPY SCREEN AND MYINFO BUTTON IS ON THE BOTTOM
HI The best settings i found on the 750 it´s that you can change aperture upp and down with pv and fn when you recording or watch in live view. In menu g1 and g2. I´m not a movie guy but.. I love you're review, keep upp the good work. xxx Tjeno
A little surprised you brushed over the "Easy ISO" function. You can use your rear wheel/dial to adjust ISO settings instead of using the button on the back of the camera, and make those adjustments without having to remove your eye from the OVF. I'm sure you can appreciate how useful that function is, especially when shooting in Manual mode "on the fly" like I did during an outdoor wedding shoot with changing constantly changing weather with an external flash this weekend. Keep up the good work. See yah!
I'm watching this video and I'm about 23 minutes in and in the video menu there is a portrait option. Does this mean your video will focus like you are taking a portrait with the nice bokeh in the background? I like that idea. I just got this camera and am learning to use it after stepping up from the Nikon D5200. So far, it feels like a powerhouse and I'm loving it! Thank you so much for making this video for those of us who may have a problem with our eyes glazing over when reading the user's manual.
Great overview guide of the Nikon D750 camera. I got the Nikon D750 camera in a kit with the Nikkor AF-S 24-120 f4 zoom lens and I'm very happy with it.
I'm an advanced photographer, but love your videos!. You do a great job, keep up the good work. Your videos obviously help out a lot of people. 219,108 views as of this comment. Wish you well!!
Man Thanks!!! I was really stuck trying to use this camera to shoot video and pictures of my band.. We got this so we would have something to record our new songs on as well as taking pictures of our shows but these new cameras are just overwhelming.. So thank you for the help! :)
Great tutorial Jared. I'm a visual learner and learned so much here. Could care less what ISO...stands for or is pronounced, as long as i know what it is. Just starting in photography and this was fantastic. Do you have another youtube tutorial on settings?
Jared Polin Hey, at 19:43 you skipped over the rest of the "Photo Shooting Menu" - I am sure others have let you know but lots of features were left out there! :-(
ua-cam.com/video/uxZ4XVH6KXE/v-deo.html you'd appreciate this review much more. ( I know it's 3 years late, but posting for future people trying to know their camera better, and Fro just didn't do his best on this)
I'm a new subscriber. I like your videos very much. I just upgraded to a Nikon D750 from another brand. Your reviews/videos certainly helped me make my final decision. This video was very helpful to me as I learn the Nikon controls. I certainly LOVE this camera! Thank you for your no nonsense, real world approach to video! I (too) shoot RAW!
Jared, Easy ISO is useful for when using Aperture Priority mode. I almost always shoot in A. I know if I'm going for a blown out background, or a bigger DoF , so I set the F-stop with the front dial. Now, if I notice my shutter speed is dropping below a comfortable level, I have the rear dial free to bump the ISO on the fly (as opposed to holding down the ISO button and then turning the rear dial.) Some people, like Ben Stonewell, like Auto-ISO. I have tried using it, but I found that the D750 will often choose ISO's oif 1250-3200! while using a 1/500+ shutter speed for no apparent reason. (WHY? because Auto ISO and P are NOT pro mode !!!) Also, if you're shooting fast action, using Shutter Priority, you then still have the ability to quickly flick the ISO up or down using that rear wheel. Give it a try!
Jared, respectfully, you are incorrect about the pronunciation of "ISO". The name of the organization in French is Organisation internationale de normalisation, and in Russian, Международная организация по стандартизации (Mezhdunarodnaya organizatsiya po standartizatsii). ISO is not an acronym. The organization adopted ISO as its abbreviated name in reference to the Greek word isos (ίσος, meaning "equal"),[4] as its name in the three official languages would have different acronyms. During the founding meetings of the new organization, the Greek word explanation was not invoked, so this meaning may have been made public later.[5] ISO gives this explanation of the name: "Because 'International Organization for Standardization' would have different acronyms in different languages (IOS in English, OIN in French), our founders decided to give it the short form ISO. ISO is derived from the Greek isos, meaning equal. Whatever the country, whatever the language, the short form of our name is always ISO."[6] The Misconception: What does "ISO" mean? Ask anyone seemingly "in-the-know" and they'll tell you "ISO" is an initialism for "International Standards Organization" and thus it is pronounced "eye-ess-oh." Sounds pretty convincing, but this is false. Why This is Wrong: There is no such thing as the "International Standards Organization." Go ahead, Google it. It doesn't exist. So then what does "ISO" stand for? Nothing. It's not an initialism or an acronym. Allow me to explain... Here's where the confusion comes from: although there isn't an "International Standards Organization," there is an "International Organization for Standardization." The International Organization for Standardization is a corporation based in Geneva, Switzerland that sets all sorts of international standards for manufacturing and engineering, one of which is film sensitivity in photography. Their whole deal is getting the world on the same page with standard regulations, measurements, and certifications. Then what is "ISO?" It's this company's name, that's all. No different than "Pepsi" or "Honda." But "ISO" obviously is not an initialism or acronym because the correct acronym (in English anyway) would be IOS. So then what does ISO mean? Well, it's derived from the Greek root "isos," which means "equal" - like in "isotope" and "isosceles." And if you look at the website for the International Organization for Standardization, you'll find an explanation on why they chose this Greek root instead of an acronym to represent their company (source: www.iso.org/iso/home/about.htm)
Thanks Jared! Great intro user guide for the D750! Please do some in depth tutorials/guides for portrait shooting (indoors/outdoors) and some more on the video shooting (tips and trick on mixed or tough light conditions etc). :)
Thank you so much - sat through the whole video with my camera and set it up as you did, I do like to shoot raw too so have set images to Raw + JPEG fine. quite excited to try all of this out now ;-)
Fro I almost always love your reviews and I have been watching them for couple of years now. Your opinions are very useful and I trust them a lot! But if you say that "most of you, actually ALL of you will use auto mode when you buy this camera" that's just very very patronising. Not everybody is a beginner and even though I have entry level D5300 I can still shoot in full manual. However I still like to watch your reviews so keep it up. :)
awesome guid bro i'm newbie not native english speaker and it's crystal clear well almost .... didn't get the the auto focus and single focus feature at the last part of this video... like what is the f. different but i can tweak it i guess and see what it's do. thanks for the video i didn't see much rokinon 85mm 1.5 cinema (or none) video test with d750 and i want this lense super bad i would most likely buy 50 mm 1.8 with autofocus of nikon just for every day use (i know the kit thing just not big fan and i don't do much like family shooting mainly product i import and portraits of my hot gf shes love herself so much so i will try to boost this self love a little to a new level with nikon till she get married with herself and this way i would be free at last!
Is there any chance you're going to Hong Kong in the near future? I would love to see you doing the Pro Photographer Cheap Camera challenge with Kai... Love how your videos are looking now btw, keep it up!
Awesome video Jared!!! Thanks for all the tips, demos, and reviews.. Im learning about photogrpahy and just picked up the D750 based on your reviews and videos. Happy holidays and thanks again.
Hi, Great review was done done by u and ur team which to say even Nikon themselves don't market n review like this. Ur reviews helps people like us to go on further into photography. Now we require ur help again on Nikon D750. It's about the internal reflection/flare. Please do reviews on this problems. Will help existing n future purchasers of D750.
Nice Konami code reference haha. Just got a 750 today. Really excited, thanks for the explanation of these settings. Some were review from my dx but good to refresh.
I would like to hang out with you and shoot with my new D750. You seem like a fun guy to learn from! Thanks for making this video. Watching it right now. :-)
No one caught your Contra reference!! Btw just received my d750 used and I'm going through three settings with you! I've upgraded from a d3400 and I'm going to use this for pet photography paired with the Tamaron g2 70-200 2.8! Thank you for this video!
Hi, as I hearing impaired, may I please ask you enable automatic subtitles on your videos. Your videos are suberb and was the main reason why I went with a D750. thank you :)
Dude gets upset when someone pronounces I period S period O period (ISO) as "eye-so" and then totally screws up pronounces "horizontal" as "horizontical"! LOL!
the 50mm & 85mm are both are fast when it comes to focusing. But for urban/street photography if I am feeling really lucky on that day I stick with the 50 mm. But it's very challenge when it comes to shooting people to let a little bit of scenery in the picture. Therefore the 85mm is like a sniper if I am feeling unlucky and I want to stay a little bit far away from civilian for tight shots like head shots. But the 50m Sigma would be a great start to get the hang of it.
It's 2024 and this is still a great tutorial. Just traded in my D3200 and upgraded to the D750. So happy.
Using this to brush up in hopes to start photography for a living being inspired by my uncle. The work he does is just amazing and I want that too.
Such a great camera, smashes landscapes in particular
Here I am at 80 years of age and this is by far the best video that I have come across in understanding my Nikon d750. Many thanks,
Fro
Someone who’s just starting this year and just upgraded from a 3400 to a 750 this was SO helpful! I have so much more to learn but am thrilled to have this tutorial!
I just upgraded from 3400 to 750,3 years later hah!
Watched this entire video for a camera that I don't even have. LOL. Loved it! :)
Me too. But may get one at some point

FRO KNOWS! Thank you dude, I just went from a Canon Rebel SL1 to a D750 and I was so lost, this helped so much. Lifesaver bro. Lifesaver.
One of the best crash courses on camera functions I've ever seen!
Just made it to the 11 minute mark and let me say I appreciate you just identifying the buttons and functions by name, and how much we might use them. I currently use a D300, but after watching several reviews, the D750 will by at my door Friday. Thanks for all the good info.
This camera is amazing. I recently went from a t3i to the D750 and I absolutely love the functionality this camera has.
There was one thing I learned from this video that made it all worth it.
Well, don't leave us hanging. What was it?
Great intro, even 8 years later! Just picked up old D750 as Z6 II way outa my budget! This helps greatly to get started!
Very helpful. Just upraded from a D5100 to a D750 and your video helped me out immensely with all of the new options.
Thank goodness for this video! I took my two main Canon bodies in for cleaning during the holidays and was asked to shoot a bridal session last minute.
Switched to Nikon from Canon, this video was all I needed to start fresh agian. Thanks!
Jared. You do a great job on your videos. You are an excellent speaker. I have learned a lot from you. Thanks. Richard in Dallas, Texas.
I found this video to be very helpful. I'm not a Nikon newbie, but I sure do appreciate the concise orientation to this camera.
Keep up the good work. See yah!
Love that you keep it basic... I am tired of reading that 500 page manual,, thank you for the video...
Useful. Bought one by accident - the auction said D7500. Set Easy ISO to on. In P and S mode roll the front dial. In A, roll the rear dial.
I'm watching this video and I'm about 23 minutes in and in the video menu there is a portrait option. Does this mean your video will focus like you are taking a portrait with the nice bokeh in the background? I like that idea. Great overview guide of the Nikon D750 camera. I got the Nikon D750 camera in a kit with the Nikkor AF-S 24-120 f4 zoom lens and I'm very happy with it.
Thanks for the info, just got the camera and felt a bit overwhelmed till I saw your guide
Thank you, this was more helpful the the camera manual.
Be honest, did you read manual? All 538 pages, lol.
GREAT JOB> VERY HELPFUL. switching from D700, to D750...this was perfect :)
Many thanks! I just bought a Nikon D750. Your video is is very helpful.
I'm an advanced photographer, but love your videos!. You do a great job, keep up the good work. Your videos obviously help out a lot of people. 219,108 views as of this comment. Wish you well!!
“And then the bright ass screen turns on!” Lol. Great pace and overview.
Just got my D750, love it and thanks Jared for the great Guide.
Thanks a lot! Just got a D750 and found your guide great. Just seeing the manual gave me a headache.

What a great Raw vs JPEG 2sec blurb ... Dude I will always shoot RAW now!!!!!
Great video! I’ve just got the D750 and that was a lot more fun than reading a guide . Liked and subscribed 👍
This guy is good. I love the inset image of the actual camera menu.
Great job Jared.
Thanks your D750 Reviews helped with my purchase of this bad boy
Jared Polin Hey, at 19:43 you skipped over the rest of the "Photo Shooting Menu" - I am sure others have let you know but lots of features were left out there! :-(
Glad I am not the only one who noticed that....
Ugh. I just wrote the same comment
Skipped the time lapse stuff too
Yeh he did well but lost enthusiasm half way through
ua-cam.com/video/uxZ4XVH6KXE/v-deo.html you'd appreciate this review much more. ( I know it's 3 years late, but posting for future people trying to know their camera better, and Fro just didn't do his best on this)

Let's get on ASA now...
Great VIDEO!. The best one of all explaining the functions of a NIKON! BRAVO!
Thanks Jared! Great intro user guide for the D750!
Please do some in depth tutorials/guides for portrait shooting (indoors/outdoors) and some more on the video shooting (tips and trick on mixed or tough light conditions etc). :)
This was a great instructional video, many thanks!
How did you manage to capture the Menu screens on the D750, I am trying to put together a tutorial and have tried most options without any luck.
Found the solution, thanks for your attention
Awesome!! Thanks Jared Polin!! Your videos are very helpful.
Thank you for getting me up and going quickly, I always appreciate your guides.
Thank you so much - sat through the whole video with my camera and set it up as you did, I do like to shoot raw too so have set images to Raw + JPEG fine. quite excited to try all of this out now ;-)
Fros the pro ....Thanks for the tip.. Incase people like to know EOSHD currently ranks this a the best 1080 p dslr for video....
Thank you so much for explaining how to use this camera. You are my go to! Thank you bro
Thanks for the helpful and succinct video, Jared. Much appreciated.
awesome guid bro i'm newbie not native english speaker and it's crystal clear
well almost .... didn't get the the auto focus and single focus feature at the last part of this video... like what is the f. different but i can tweak it i guess and see what it's do. thanks for the video
i didn't see much rokinon 85mm 1.5 cinema (or none) video test with d750 and i want this lense super bad
i would most likely buy 50 mm 1.8 with autofocus of nikon just for every day use (i know the kit thing just not big fan and i don't do much like family shooting mainly product i import and portraits of my hot gf shes love herself so much so i will try to boost this self love a little to a new level with nikon till she get married with herself and this way i would be free at last!
Is there any chance you're going to Hong Kong in the near future? I would love to see you doing the Pro Photographer Cheap Camera challenge with Kai... Love how your videos are looking now btw, keep it up!
I like watching ''Pro Photographer Cheap Camera challenge'' ! I'm looking forward to watch ''Jared Polin'' version :)

Hi, Great review was done done by u and ur team which to say even Nikon themselves don't market n review like this. Ur reviews helps people like us to go on further into photography. Now we require ur help again on Nikon D750. It's about the internal reflection/flare. Please do reviews on this problems. Will help existing n future purchasers of D750.
very good run through
Nice Konami code reference haha.

Thank you! Super helpful tutorial, I'm glad I came across your channel 👍🏾
Hi, as I hearing impaired, may I please ask you enable automatic subtitles on your videos. Your videos are suberb and was the main reason why I went with a D750.
thank you :)
Just for me as for a non-native English speaker... Is "horizontical" even a word?
:-) ok, thanks...
He says it for horizontal even though he knows it's incorrect
Martin Blass I enjoyed this one. :-)
Dude gets upset when someone pronounces I period S period O period (ISO) as "eye-so" and then totally screws up pronounces "horizontal" as "horizontical"! LOL!
I sometimes still trip over saying ASA instead of ISO.
the 50mm & 85mm are both are fast when it comes to focusing.
Very nice video man
Good job Jared. Thanks a lot.
