- In this video I am gonna talk if you should shave or epilate/wax before you do your IPL hair removal treatment (I am using Braun silk expert pro 5) . I did both ways and now I can definitely tell which way works best to achieve better results. I am also sharing some before and after photos so I hope this video gonna be helpful.

There’s pros and cons for both
With shaving you have to shave weekly at least the first 9 weeks
And waxing you just need to wait couple days before you use the IpL

Ok, but that seems crazy though. When I shave, my hair starts growing the next day, when I epilate, it takes a few weeks to come back. So, if you are only able to stretch the process one week with epilating, then the machine is not doing anything…

You can shave whenever you need, it is only important to have epilated/shaved skin before the treatment ☺️
Hi, when you say you would epilate before your laser treatments would you do this before every single treatment as with waxing you tend to not really get hair back after a couple of weeks so could you carry out the treatment without epilating or waxing before hand. Also your video was very helpful thanks
Well on this experiment I did epilate before every single ipl treatment, but you don’t need to spend that much time for epilating after 2-3 times because there is less hair coming back ☺️

Can I use IPL during summer months? I heard that after laser hair removal in beauty salons they recommend to be careful with direct sunlight on treated areas 🤔
You could use it in the summer, but it’s better not to go sunbathing after the treatment and also always apply spf ☺️

I would encourage you to stick to the shaving at the beginning, when you see full results then waxing should prolong it even more, but I don’t recommend it as a “before Ipl” hair removal anymore, I think shaving is best before the treatment 🤔
