I'm so glad that the national media 'Print' highlited this issue. I myself as a arunachali wasn't aware of this occurence in our state. I hope this video brings light to all the ignorant people like me in the state and as a youth, we should aware and teach the young minds and other people in the state about this very issue. Thankyou print, I really appreciate your work.

I thank for the information being provided by Ms. Angana. It is very important that border area are look after by the government. It is very sad that bonded labour are still practice by the common people due to economic condition. I hope many people are well educated and get a job. I thank DC for taking action and building school for the poor people. I feel like crying after seeing the labourer condition. I hope government take serious and do good for the common people.

Forget Arunachal, even in Delhi, unorganised labourers work in factories where they are not paid for 6 months. They cannot leave the job because of the dues, and factory owners exploit them fully. If someone dies in an accident, their family members don't even get to know. The owners dispose of the bodies in connivance with the police. No compensation is paid to the family.
What are we even talking about?

If China had not gone back than these people will be living a rich life.
24 hours power, schools, housing, running water and jobs.
But I dont understand Arunachal ppl still loves India even India gave them poverty, disrespect and racism.

Lol! Really? Just like the Han Chinese are giving a "rich life" to the Uighurs, Tibetans, Mongolians? Would you want to wipe out the cultural and linguistic beauty and diversity of many countless unique and ancient tribes in our North East and be subservient to the Han Chinese? There are many problems in India and such independent and free journalism helps countless number of Indians in asking the right questions and holding our democratic and pluralistic institutions accountable. I am quite sure people in the Home Ministry must have seen this. I only hope that the concerned institutions help the Puroiks FAST enough..

Thank you the print media from wholehearted for news coverage evenI'm surprise that the print media went and cover this practice. Yeah I do believe, this been practicing since puroik community come under privileged category so no any opportunity for them. That's why the whole puroik community dependent on nyishi community by accepting themselves for a bonded labour or even they start selling their children for.
The main cause is because of ''they come underprivileged category and no jobs opportunity''.
But I thank to East kameng people, they are showing solidarity toward puroik community and releasing. But I surprised and want appeal Kurung Kumey administration to pls let them free and let them live their free life. So pls take note on this.

The slavery was abolished in many areas of Arunachal by paying the owners a certain amount of compensation during the 60s as per my grandfather who saw that slaves were released and set free... If such an approach would have been facilitated today with the economic support for such families would have been a proper solution... Awed by the existence of slavery till today when the world has moved much ahead...

Why not think of something bigger beyond just building a residential school ? The state police, railways, state transport etc could employ some low skilled people at least at lower levels, perhaps even the army can use some people and provide steady employment to build some confidence in the community. Once the community gains some self confidence the Puroik people will themselves start fighting against this practice.
