This just popped up in my feed, didnt remember your channel. Just realized I subbed back when you made GTA videos like me, and now you have the car I am also building... kinda (we are resurrecting a neglected 280ZX). Great car and good driving mate. Hope I get to track mine this year too, currently using a '97 E36 28i coupe for that but the Datsun is the dream coming together.

Yeah, haven't really been much of a gamer lately haha. That's awesome, I had mine for about 3 years. I plan on posting a video on the car soon hopefully. Hope you get yours on the road soon. These cars are a ton of fun on the road and track!

@@AnthonyCessor We all gotta get out of gaming some day huh, I don't have time for that in the past few years neither, except for some casual stuff. Well by 'neglected' I mean it was sitting in a garden for 20 years and it took a year just to recover the papers since they were all lost, but insane how the chassis itself barely had any rust even though the thing was literally sunk into the dirt.
We already have the engine sorted (it's not carburated but a conversion to that is the long term plan with it), it's suspension time, and finishing up the chassis + painting it, then it's gonna be ready for the road. This will probably take another year for us though.
I love my BMW E36 as well but this is something else.

@@alf279 Yup haha. I haven't even had time for casual gaming, wish I did. And that sounds terrible but shocked you say it had barely any rust. When I got my car my entire driver side floor and frame rail was gone, completely rusted through. It also had a ton of dents.
What kind of carburetor setup you plan on going? Triple Webers? Personally I wanted Fuel Injected ITB's but ended up with the triples. Sounds like not that much longer till you get to enjoy it, then hopefully just drive it for years and years to come.
An E36 is a sick daily, I drive a 2016 Corolla as a daily haha, but I am probably going to get a brand new Supra as a daily and track car hopefully by the end of this year.

@@AnthonyCessor Oh I drive a '15 Kia Cee'd as a daily, too many cars! Used to drive the 36 on the daily for a year but it's quite mint right now so I stopped using it like that, got a good deal on this Kia and its a great daily, all I want there is reliability and comfort which I see we share.
Also on cold winter mornings these E36s are a real pain in the ass, until they get somewhat warmed up they feel like something's wrong with them. Can't really explain that. Everything feel too tight and hard to operate. I sat in multiple of them and all are like that. They also ALWAYS have some minor issue with them which gets irritating on the daily even for a car guy.
Yes, triple Webers like you. I love the carburated noise and character of this engine. I almost didnt get this Z but it was literally cheaper than the suspension setup on my E36 alone. Not since then though. Had to source many parts. Good thing I have a friend who is really into old japanese cars, could help me a lot with that. About the rust, thing is someone painted this car with actual blue wall paint, which I was trying to remove for days and was very surprised to find almost no rust under that huge layer of paint.

Thinking of going soon! Would you say it’s worth it?

100%! The price isn't that expensive and the track is pretty fun for what it is and you get to do multiple laps unlike say autocross.
