I came to Fuji because of their dedication to APS-C, but then I fell in love with their design. Aesthetically and functionally pleasing, that's all I can say about it. I never thought a clicked aperture ring would be such a strong selling point, but now I missed it when a lens doesn't have it. That's why as much as I love Sigma, Tamron, and Rokinon lenses, they're a hard sell for me. I do hope they'll release version 2 with an aperture ring on it. I mean, if Viltrox can do a proper clicked aperture on their 13mm, I'm pretty sure Sigma, Tamron, and Samyang could do it.
Had canon in the beginning, shortly switched to panasonic, became a sony user for a good while, then switched to Fuji because it looked FUN, and now i'm FULL-TIME FUJI. Everything before it i got bored of, but Fuji brought back the fun, creativity, and passion for me :) And you gotta love that retro design!
I usually use my Pentax and Leica equipment, but recently decided to try a Fuji xpro 3. the Pentax’s and Leicas have sat in the bags ever since then. Is the xpro 3 sensor as good as my FF sensor? Questionable. Are the Fuji lenses as quality as my Leica lenses? Also questionable. None of that even matters. The xpro 3 (that’s my only experience with Fuji) is FUN to use and inspires me more to just get out to shoot anything and everything. Not sure what about the camera it is that gives me so much joy, but it really does. Enjoying the experience with what’s in your hands is infinitely more important than the specs of a camera or lens.
I use Fujifilm because of the colors. I am a graphic designer who makes his own photography for his projects and ive learned that color is one of the most critical parts. Not just for the color profile but the amount of hidden color each raw has. Then we have the size of the camera, the vintage look, the ragefinder evf that allows me to look with both eyes... there are many reasons.
Same here, some say color science is a myth if working with RAWs, but I don't care too much, it works for me with Fuji files, and it didn't really do well coming from Sony...
This is exactly why I have so many issues with the X-H2 control scheme. The issue isn’t that Fuji stepped away from their traditional dials to implement PASM. It’s that the PASM system feels bolted on to their existing traditional design language. You can’t assign ISO or exposure compensation to a dial in M, even though most Fuji lenses have aperture rings. The custom modes also change the JPEG settings, when there is no reason for that. You can’t assign different button layouts to different custom modes. Hoping that the UI and UX engineers at Fuji can reconsider how that camera should work and give it FUNCTION that matches its FORM
I think that's simply a case of different functionality rather than not being designed to accommodate PASM dial. They've been doing retro PASM camera for years with the X-A line and once you understand the function, the form makes sense. I have the X-T100, the sister of the X-A5, and it works well enough; they're not designed to be used like the traditional-style of cameras, they're more streamlined in functionality. Although with my X-T100 I can change the function of the left dial to change ISO in Manual mode, so maybe your criticism is warranted for the X-H2?
I started with the XT1 and then X pro-2 and then added the x100v is the optical viewfinder. That’s the main reason I got the x100V instead of a xe4. There’s nothing like looking through and just seeing your subject in real-time, not just a tiny screen!
I primarily rock an M10 but my X70 is one of my favorite cameras ever. I’ll never sell it. I also have an IR converted x-pro 1 . Wish Fuji would take a shot at full frame but oh well.
I would switch to Fuji if they made their video ibis less jittery. One firmware update could fix it. It’s very smooth but seems to not detect panning leading to a stuttery look. Sony ibis is near non-existent and Panasonic seems to have nailed it here with a strong but fluid ibis that works with pans and locked off shots.
@@Alexrocks1253 IBIS was never meant to be a video oriented feature, Panasonic's DLSR size cameras have enough space and small enough sensor to execute it since they are so video oriented, however all the other brands have it for stills taking purposes. If you want a smooth handheld shot, just make your rig heavier, if you want a rock solid and stable shot - you gotta go with a gimbal, there's no way around it
@@SergioMusel I guess so but my full frame Panasonic s5 says otherwise with its stabilization. I think Fuji has great stabilization, though they just need to tweak it more to make it less jerky when panning is all. It’s basically perfect when standing still. This is coming from an xt4 owner
@@SergioMusel The “full frame” look is related to aperture and focal length. Example I have a 50mm 1.4 for my Nikon full frame. The field of view and out of focus area could never be matched on APSC because if you put such a lens on a crop body it turns into a 75mm FOV. If you use a 33mm f0.95 to match the FOV and bokeh, you are still not getting the same image as a 50mm on full frame. You are getting the look of a full frame 35mm 1.4 cropped down to a 50mm FOV. Also, the full frame look comes from being able to go wide angle with fast aperture, allowing you to create shallower depth of field from something like a 20mm lens and still have autofocus.
Switched to fuji from Canon during the pandemic, cuz my Canon broke. Never felt this good about switching brands. Got a couple of 3rd party manual lenses, now shooting photos has become fun again.
AV, well said of Fuji’s function over form…yet, Fuji somehow design 📷 of both equal in values & desirability. Por moi, Fuji ergonomic is functional & intuitive for 📸-very close to film 📷 of far when. I own (am not bragging, but to illustrate my 😍 for 📷) Leica, Olympus Pen F, Fuji 📷s & many others, but I often enjoy & addicted to 📸 with my Fuji 📷-regardless of models (I have 10 to choose from). I get great images from the other 📷-in fact, most 📷s are very good image producer-but the Fuji system suits my style of 📸(full manual mode) the most. I highly recommend GFX 50r for its various aspects ratio format, sharpness & beautiful images. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the virtues of Fuji 📷. ✌🏼& 📸
Thanks🙏🏼 Yes, that XPan crop mode in 50R is very tempting🤗 Hopefully with new 40mpx sensor they will introduce more crop modes on APS-C models as well👍🏼
If they make fixed lens leaf shutter GFX, I might get that, GFX100S got so small and well performing, they need to translate that into something like a GA645 camera
You very well expressed what I felt. Especially the form follows function part is something so fundamental that it’s hard to overlook on other cameras (Penf, Zfc…).
Good content, but that musics way too loud, through the whole thing I just kept thinking to myself turn the music down! Made it hard to enjoy anything. 😖
Finally, someone who honestly admits he is a Fuji fan. Me too.
I never denied it

Making a lens for Fuji without aperture ring is basically a crime😅

Just get a gimbal, it's easier and much better than waiting for a camera to do the job, because it isn't the job

totally agree on the function dictates form! i preordered the zfc and had it for a year. beautiful camera but terrible to take pictures with xD
