  • The MXS is a bold and powerful mountain bike spin on the classic SONDORS design, standing out from the crowd with bright colors and the iconic triangle battery compartment, available online-only in North America and covered by a one-year comprehensive warranty. A Mozo air suspension fork provides a solid 130mm of travel up front, the suspension seatpost adds some comfort to the hardtail design, Maxxis plus-sized tires with boost hub spacing provide strength and stability. Smooth and intuitive shifting across 7 speeds from the Shimano Altus derailleur combined with a RevoShift half-grip shifter, cassette gear range is low for an eMTB and may struggle with steep inclines, stellar stopping power from Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. A massive 840wh battery paired with the 750-watt Bafang rear hub motor provides plenty of power for steep inclines and high speeds, but that power and the presence of a throttle will limit trail access, only available in one size so it may not fit some riders well. So it will work with the throttle at 28 mile per hour? Is it just up to me to make the change because the law or will it not work until I unplug the throttle?

Yeah, it will work up to 28 just throttle, you just make that change in the settings and don’t have to do anything else but it is illegal and EBR will not recommend you to do anything illegal.

I just got mine in the mail tonight and am at a park bench typing this up. Cool bike, e-bikes are a lot of fun and you get some good blood flow too! Ummm, 2 things, 1. The color looks wayyy better in person than in any photo I have seen and 2. The tires look way beefier in person and the overall bike just looks great. My Roomate is an artist and loves fashion and art and all that and he kept complimenting it as he looked it over today which was a good thing cuz he normally has something negative to say haha 😛

@@sozo_jamma1593 : No problem reaching out and you have come to the right person. I also did an absolute ton of research before I pulled the trigger. The bike is a "BEAST"! I live in Northern, VA, and right outside my house are trails, trails, and more trails!! I started out buying the bike under the follows 60% pavement, 30% gravel/fire road/flat dirt trails, and 10% rocks, tree roots trails. I am 5' 10" and 220 pounds this 750 Watt Bafang motor is amazing and I haven't found any trail around my house it can't handle. So now here is how I ride 60% gravel/fire roads/flat dirt and some small rock trails, and 35% pavement, and 5% hasty roots and rock trails. At the end of the day buy the Torch, not Graphite! The Sondors MXS is a tremendous amount of fun to ride and also handle the terrain. The limitation of MXS is the front fork, just not made for jumping if that is your thing. Yes to everything else. Sondors MXS: First I want to give a huge thanks to EBR for making their video on this bike! I have bought one for July shipment, because of this video and others giving us the low down on the bike. However, for me here is where the EBR video and other videos fall short. Here are my plans for this bike 70% commuter bike (riding pavement), 20% simple flat dirt trails, and 10% downhill dirt trails. It's the 10% downhill that I haven't seen addressed anywhere. The bike is listed and has tires as a mountain bike. Nothing out there on this aspect of this bike. I by no means a mountain bike downhiller, just a retired Marine at 63 yrs old. However, I like from time to time to just go out and get some! I do understand the bike weights 65lbs and bikes meant for this type of riding usually weight about half this weight and gear-drive trains for this. So the MXS will not handle as great for downhill, but can it take some beating of this type of riding? The Bike has front air suspension, seat suspension, mountain bike tries, and if necessary for uphill climb a 750-watt motor. Don't expect the rear-drive cassette with 7 gears to get my 220-pound body up the hill alone.
When I get my Sondors Torch MXS in July if there isn't any video out on this aspect. I will make and address this.....
In the meantime... Help Help Help from anyone who can shed any light here.

@@ProffesorBlue Thanks for the info.... I joined the Sondors MXS owners group and received a lot of great info on the bike from them. I also know about the Sondors Rockstar. Because I bought an MXS from them for July shipment, I received an early look at their three new bike line up. Yes, the new Rockstar is a full-suspension mountain bike, still, no prototype and the release date is 29 June. I'm sure more info to follow after the 29 June release date (You will be able to see the three new bikes on the Sondors web site that date). Here is the number one concern; I cancel my July shipment of the MXS for the Rockstar that's to ship in Oct. Sondors I'm told has a habit of sliding delivery dates. So now the Oct shipment starts to slide and I end up with no bike till Christmas? I live in Springfield, VA, and it starts to get cold in Nov. I had the chance to speak to about 20 different Sondors MXS owners who just "LOVE" the bike. If you go to the Sondors MXS owner's group page, there are videos' of this bike in more action than EBR could review. They did a great job of showcasing the MXS parts and a ride at the beach. However; I'm seeing the MXS is much, much more, and a beast in power. I didn't find any owner who said the MXS can't handle ruff trails. Plenty said Vic I ride the MXS as a Hardtail mountain bike with no issues. A few said don't expect to take the MXS on very serious rocky Arizona type trails, but anything else to go for it!
So all that being said and videos showing riding up and down hills, I'm all in!! I'll leave the extreme mountain biking to others who need the full suspension and mid-drive motor.
I also want to put out a very special thanks to Court for his time helping me out by answering all my 100 questions. Super nice guy who knows his stuff on electric Bikes!!
I hope this helps others looking into the Sondors MXS mountain bike. I know it's hard to buy a bike, site un-seen, can't sit on it, can't ride it, can't go to the local bike shop and see one first hand, and have to depend and videos and reading. This is the same thing I went through, but if you're going to spend your hard-earned money. Spend the time to research and I mean research, even be a pain but get your answers. $1,699.00 is not just chump change, but a good price compared to other e-bikes costing a lot more. The only bike I could find close to this price and from a great Company out of San Diego, CA was from FLX in their Gladiator for $1, 499,00. I bought their new touring e-bike the Baby Maker for $1,500.00.
I hope this all helps anyone.....

7:58 ridiculous brake placement, they should be further in on the handlebar to align with the index finger for braking.
16:30 ridiculous drivetrain setup, that's a quite heavy gearing, basically it's geared so high you need the motor just to ride the bike up some steep roads.
16:31 but it does not have a clutch so it will have a lot of chain slap, with the weak cage spring.
17:42 for that you actually need a chain guide, not bash rings, the chain can still go off the chain ring and over the guards as you call it, but of course that's if it's riding stairs, or very rough trails, which I am doing, and that's even with an clutch, so it will be much worse without a clutch. I am speaking from experience.
They don't even list the components or have a geometry/sizing chart. rediculous.
another bad thing is the geometry, sizing, it's oldschool, but for me most brands are not good enough, I ride a Nicolai/Geometron G1, so if I had to get a E bike I would go for Nicolai G1 Eboxx
and if a hardtail, city riding style of bike then Hnf-Nicolai. I haven't tried those, but they look sweet.
and the quality is great. but price will of course not be low.

4:32 this fork is a copy cat fork, and what they are doing is not legal.
IT's likely the fork does not have the technology it pretends to have, like Manitou ABS damper, which the red dial is a copy of.

check out the video by TCBOT: ua-cam.com/video/XeGZ4b5LT44/v-deo.html
there is a risk for forks not being straight, horrible quality issues, and the internal components are junk, which the fork in this video is probably too.
there are quite a few of these copy cat forks in various forms.
