Great overview. Soft spot for the Hammond - my first board - organ is to me immediately the “truest” straight out the box. Overdrive was never convincing (but didn’t have much use for it), while Leslie sim just excellent IMHO, and there is no beating the tactile control from those physical drawbars. Being able to properly connect to any other midi board AND PK5a pedals provided the cheapest route to a cut price B3 / pipe organ experience. Nord & Korg always out of financial reach and I want the real drawbars ;-) Like many folk I started off classical pianist before going to pipe organ then to the electronic experience. Ultimately had to sell as I didn’t have room for a dedicated board with proper piano sound. Now in a bigger house have Roland VR700 which has real drawbars and epic keybed and Kurzweil SP4-8 for as good piano sounds I can afford. This video makes me nostalgic for that little XK1 of yesteryear though!!
Sir i found it Ronkokanoma NY which in Long Island NY and a kid sold it to me for $400 USD no lie On God my guy! And Remember the Roland JV1010 that had that rare card called the Keyboards of the 60s and 70s card SR -JV-08? I got that my the grace of God i prayed to find it and its got them Hammonds Vox Clavi s and EP Rhodes Wurly and all kinds of really good useable patches man. I use a Neo Vent for my Organs. And i have a slew of Korg CX3 1979 and the 1991 digital model with the BX3 analog and Digital,Roland VK-7 7m VK8 and VK8m VK77 and VK88 too Hammond XB2,XB3,XB5 dual manie a paid 900 yesterday 5/9/2023 XK-2,XK3 and XK1c
@@hoodpianoplayer sorry for the late reply i got it for 450 in NewYork in August of 2021 and i just bought a Roland VK7 07/6/2023 for 680 mint never giged in my dust free home studio for ever no vsts or Daw im old school multitrack Korg D3200 for life. Btw love your videos. Korg I love Nord is too digital i love that difference with Nord but Organs the Hammond and Roland does fine for me thats why i have them both❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was supposed to come out the Kronos organ sound just as good as Nord organ if not better It’s smooth

You are right, the hammond is a gem. I think im gonna upgrade to the SK Pro series soon.
