As a Brit (in the 80s / 90s) this stuff is very familiar from my travels through provincial USA ! Very often, on a local TV station you have some middle aged guy, probably the owner, wearing a stetson, bolo, suit with the stitched pleats and Tony Lama cowboy boots, stumbling through a spiel extolling the great offers and deals with a backdrop of shiny cars and above him the business logo high on a pole. If its windy the camera shakes. So not exactly Enfield and Whitehouse, but not that far off !
For you own viewing pleasure 'Mortimer & Whitehouse : Gone fishing. Banter, laughs & life from friends that have known each other for 30 years. You'll see how beautiful England is. 30 minute episodes. 5 series, 6 episodes. Have a look, it is so relaxing to watch.
Totally agree Paul. Love the two of them and the genuine friendship and sarcasm and Brit humour/piss taking on the show. I really appreciate the fantastic locations and the scenery and the gentleness of the whole thing. I find that I can relax after a day at work and almost feel like I am with them, and have actually purchased them on blu-ray to watch again and again. Not quite as good as Auf Weidersehen Pet, my all time favourite TV, but it comes close.

These selected Sofas won't be here for long... So hurry now while stocks last!"... 🤣👌

Good Morning KB....Paul Whitehouse certainly does have a gallery of different voices, before the pandemic he did a series of Aviva Insurance commercials in the UK again playing different characters, As for the Wrestling I agree since Dwayne Johnson left it has spiralled downwards. When Sky Channel took off in 1989 the World Wrestling Federation was a staple diet on Friday & Saturday evenings, my favourites were Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart & Legion of Doom I also loved the interaction with Mean Gene Okerlund those were the Great days...Keep The Faith
Some of the best Harry and Paul videos were spoofs of "Dragons Den" this is a show we have which is the UK equivalent of shark tank... In particular they did a video pitching the "Kitten Stomper" which was just hilarious 😭😆

Recommendation: Please look at 'The Armstrong and Miller Show - WWII Pilots!' Or the whole sketch show - These in particular are great. A good representation of teenagers, trapped in WWII setting/people! Please also check out 'Men Behaving Badly' too. (90's sitcom.) Some episodes are better than others, but the actors/comedians are great and some episodes are hilarious. (They seem like lovely people off screen too) The main men have the same kind of luck as The Inbetweeners lads! Glad you've discovered Harry and Paul! Love 'em. On another note, in response to your thoughts on the R word; I obviously cannot speak for everyone, as what one person finds offensive, another may not. There may be very good reasons why a word is offensive to many. For roughly the first half of my life, I was physically ok and neurotypical. I now have physical disabilities and I know many people with additional needs, whether physical and/or emotional/mental. We often get treated differently. Sometimes really positively, but too often, negatively. But, we are human and do have a sense of humour! (A lot of people aren't just going along with the cancel culture. There's often a common and valid reason why people take offence.) However, there are words and actions which carry deep trauma for many. (Often from physical and/or emotional abuse/bullying/being seen as 'less than' by society etc) The R word included. It isn't so nice, so it's great that it's not accepted anymore. But I can still laugh at this sketch, as a comedy from the past, but pleased we've moved on. Some people have had a MUCH tougher time than me and went through their younger years, especially with school etc, facing awful times and have really suffered. (As anybody does, with or without additional needs, if they've been abused or bullied.) So they may not find this funny at all. It still surprises me when I hear the word 'Handicapped' on American TV e.g. Handicapped parking/people, as we thankfully don't tend to use that in the UK anymore. As I said, I cannot speak for everyone, It's just my take on it :-) Another funny Harry and Paul sketch though!
You have a great sense of humour, and thank God. You now owe me $999 and 6 payments of $998.99, and a final payment of $9.99. Do I look like a douchebag?😁
I lived in the US in the early 90s (not 1999 by the way). I was taken aback by these low quality "guy next door" adverts for cars, lawyers, carpets ...etc. No actors, just actual Bob from his car Lot, or carpet showroom, filmed on some early Handycam in beige-o-vision.
Speaking from the experience of being disabled that word is very much on a par with N-word for us. I don't think people understand the abuse done to disabled people by assuming them as intellectually inferior when even delays to processing information don't make that true (think a computer that's loading it has the capacity for handling data it's just can't access it in that moment, that's a frustrating thing for people without being misjudged as dumb). Allowing the r word condones the views that stigmatise, dehumanise and bully disabled people. In that sketch, disabled people aren't the butt of the joke so its intention is fine but that word still needs to die out. Harry and Paul aren't bad but that word is. I think we need a nuance about it. To critique rather than burn the evidence of problems.
@@NZealandKiwi I said my thoughts and I’m not forcing anyone to agree or care. Your comment goes beyond pointless into malicious and bullying for absolutely no reason.
