My late mother (1931 - 2021 to 89 yrs) said as a little girl when picking black berry's, she and her siblings would tie a rag soaked in Kerosene around their ankles and wrist to stop jiggers (red bugs). She said it works.
    Back then, kids were Tough.

Hmm, the active ingredient is absorbed into the dogs skin and dogs don't sweat - which is why they say to fit the collar 24 hours in advance - I can't see any benefit of putting a dog collar around the ankle of your boot and it should definitely not be allowed to touch your skin. Spray insect repellant around the ankles I think would be more effective. Those are just my thoughts.
    It's a cruel world.

My best friend who was in Desert Storm, back in 1991 used said collars to blouse his pants, to keep sand fleas off him. It worked great. Those who did not, had flea problems. Go figure.

I've been doing that since 1991. I actually Blouse my pant legs with said items, specially if I'm working in high grass or woods. Works nicely. Just do not put the band directly on your leg.

You should have mentioned to never put them in touch with your skin. Troops in the field in Viet Nam found that it causes chemical burns.

I did but I edited it out because I figured it was a given. I might have left it in my shorts video though.

@clintalmadge796 troops in Nam found WHAT specificially caused chem burns? There are so many different materials and chemicals in the world of flea and tick collars, worlds apart
